What's the last game that made you feel the way vidya felt when you were a kid?

Shining Force 2
I finally played Killer is Dead a week ago and it was awesome. Crazy games like that don't get made anymore.
Unironically Fire Emblem: Three Houses just now. I sat down to play it immediately after I got it and kept playing almost non-stop since Friday. It usually takes me a week to go through a 20 hour game, but I've already put in over 50 into Three Houses and I don't feel like I've had enough. It's a great feeling.
Breath of the Wild, don't care what Yea Forums thinks. It was an incredible experience, maybe the only one I'll have this gen.
Gonna pick it up as soon as I find a used copy. Don't care for weebshit but I love tactical games.
Never even heard of it, looks rad. I haven't played any Suda51 games yet, been meaning to start.
Hell yeah
dragon's dogma when I played it for the first time last year
I'm finally getting around to dark souls now, and it's close but dragon's dogma is so far beyond close that it's the safest answer
I thought heart gold would do it, but it surprisingly didn't.
Sly Cooper 4.
I played Dark Souls for the first time a few months ago, it was amazing. I beat it three more times right afterwards, definitely one of my top 5 games of all time.
I played Crusader of Centy on a Genesis emulator a few months ago, and that game was so fucking comfy. Top-down Wonder Boy pretty much.
This or XCX.
Bloodstained RotN
Crosscode did this for me, felt like I was playing a snes game
Super Mario Bros 3 on the Switch.
BOTW
I should probably get around to finish it
I usually play it around Christmas each year, never gets old
PREY
didn't really make me feel like a kid but it's the first game I was really immersed in in a long time
hollow knight and RE2make. also HITMAN2
unironically Dark Souls in ~2013 friend bought it for me on steam. I was like wait they make games like this? Felt like playing castlevania SOTN for the first time or even older NES games.
The first couple weeks of playing Overwatch really were something special.
onions
Hollow Knight.
FFX HD kinda. Big stalgia bomb.
Agreed. Took the words right out of my mouth.
I didint much care for vidya as a kid. It was always old shit that played like ass and couldnt be completed (at my age anyway) so i just used to opt for playing outside. That being said, i loved sonic so sonic mania did it for me. Im 32 now, it's amazing to see how far games have come. I play garden warfare 2 a bunch
Metal Gear solid about 2 weeks ago. MGS2 makes me hate video games, however.
When I played through Majora's Mask again about a year ago. It's all been downhill since then, although Katana Zero was pretty damn good.
Pikmin used to be my go-to yearly game, but I always try to one-up my high score and I'm having a hard time optimizing for shorter than twelve days without planning ahead.
Kenshi, initially tried to win encounters and finally had my ass kicked by a group of dust bandits. I decided not to reload and just let me character lay unconscious for 2 days in a recovery coma. When he got up he laughed like an insane man who had peered at death and lost his mind. From that point on I was hooked and understood progress came with pain. Once it captured my imagination it didn't matter that the world was so vast and largely empty, it added to it's character for me. I put over 100 hours into my first character having a blast. It requires a special kind of autism and the kid in me loved it.
Bloodborne
Bump
dark souls 1
Astro Bot
Before that, probably minecraft, but not nearly as much as Astro Bot.
before that, a tie between WoW, and FFXI.
Before that...
ummm, i guess RPG Maker 2000?
