Are you building and being comfy in Dragon Quest Builder?
Are you building and being comfy in Dragon Quest Builder?
I'm still trying to finish 1.
working my way through the story before i buckle down and start really getting some fun builds going on isle of awakening. such an improvement over the first game.
Kinda burning out in Moonbroke from all the combat, it's just tedious. Having new traps on top of the ones from the old game is cool and all but a field of spikes is enough to ruin the monsters day. I just wanna get all the blueprints to start working on my island. Probably wasn't a good idea to play the first one immediately before 2 game out also.
>just wanna get all the blueprints to start working on my island
Tfw absolutely loved the entire game but the second I finished it and could finally work on my island I got burned out.
Yeah, I spent too much time on the first two islands trying to make things look good. I started to go full commieblocks in Moonbrooke though which is kind of helping me want to spend my creativity on the island instead. Also terraforming the island just fucking sucks, there are no good ways to farm a ton of night soil and grass seeds which is what I'm worried about. There's a ton of ground to cover in the farmland section of your island that I still haven't been able to convert.
Just started the snow island. I kind of rushed to it because I realized that enemies could break the pyramid on Isle of Awakening. A lot of people have probably already done it, but I want to build a puff puff parlor with a lot of cute bunny girls.
I'm slowly making progress on my Paper Mario Toad Town.
Wow, that's surprisingly accurate so far. Well done. Good use of the bulletin board in front of Merlon's top.
I hate these creative games because they reveal how deeply uncreative I am. Like, DQB is a comfy game, but the second I'm free to do anything all I get uncomfortable. I just want a set of instructions and to follow them to the letter. If left to my own designs I will construct a box with a bed in it, and that's it. Is this autism or retardation?
Damn that's looking good. You've done a lot since the last I saw of it.
You just need to not be afraid to take inspiration from other houses/villages in video games or even real architecture. Copy things and when you get good at copying start adding your own flair to it, that's part of the fun in building games, experimenting.
Thank you. If I feel autistic enough, I think I can squeeze in the rest of the world eventually, while taking some liberties with placements.
>Didn't finish DQB1
>Kind of interested in DQB2
Should I?
How far are you into DQB1?
Stopped at the second island.
The last island is great but you'll probably burn yourself out by the time you finish it. You could always come back to 1 but 2 has a bunch of QoL improvements out the gate that'll make that very difficult.
If you didn't care much about the narrative then I guess skip to 2.
go to a explorers shore with the type of grass you want then pick up tons of it using the trowel.
Oh fuck that's actually a good solution. Do the blocks still spawn different plants and trees according to the type when you do that?
>try to build a room up high for the tablet challenge
>go to the top of the highest cliff on the island and build a light room
>doesn't count
Highest cliff is where the hammerhood spirit is though, there's even a very obvious flat platform at the peak to build on.
That platform is for the flag
Haven't gotten that far apparently, but it's still the highest cliff with the flattest surface. I built a room there and got the task completed.
