Finally got around to playing this and I have to ask: what the fuck is up with the soundtrack?

best soundtrack in the series

It paints with all the colors of the wiiinndd

it's just some background piano, it's alright I guess but it's so weird

They went a different direction because you spend more time in the overworld and jaunty, catchy songs constantly on loop wouldn't really work.

I prefer the classic soundtracks, first post is definitely worst post, but it it makes sense.

I'm going to get crucified for suggesting BOTW isn't the flawless greatest game of all time.

I realize that, but not even bosses have songs that are more than some piano and trumpets

>I'm going to get crucified for suggesting BOTW isn't the flawless greatest game of all time.
where the fuck do you think you are

I don't think the OST is great, but it's fundamentally different from the rest of the series.

Somewhere where the thing I just described is a constant occurrence. Even the most innocuous criticisms of BotW are responded to with "Coping Snoy" and the like.

This nigga really never heard of ambient music

see

Works fine for elder scrolls and Witcher

t. didn't play the game
The boss music is more strings, horns, and choir than anything else

What does, ambient soundtracks or catchy tunes? Because those both lean towards the former.

I was talking about hinoxes and shit like that

Ambient music doesn’t have to be shitty and boring.

Finally got this thing working on Cemu, running at a buttery smooth 60fps.

Game's alright. My problems with it:
>low enemy variety for such a massive overworld
>not enough dungeon variety, just 4 divine beasts and 121 shrines
>every weapon has the durability of a soggy cardboard tube, meaning I have to constantly pick up whatever garbage weapons I stumble upon between the occasional shrine treasure weapons or occasional guardian weapons
>you get pretty much all of your tools right off the bat
>no optional "dungeons" that aren't shrines

Other than that, it's fun for a bit. Gets super dull after 30 hours because you're just hunting shrines and little leaf fuckers.

He said catchy songs on loop wouldn’t work in a game where you spend a lot of time in the overworld. Elder scrolls proves otherwise

You better leave the country before NDF finds you

TES songs are memorable, not catchy. Oblivion is my all time favorite soundtrack, but I wouldn't call it catchy.

Lost Woods or Song of Storms are more what I mean by catchy. I admit my decision is a little arbitrary.

Not paying $300 for a glorified DS just to play one or two games.

I wouldn't go that far but it definitely works with the atmosphere of the game. My favorite soundtrack is probably a tie between WW and MM.

It's a good game but they really screwed up with the music imo.

Not that Koroks and Shrines aren't bad but it was your choice to blaze through the game and focus on them. I actually bothered to explore and spent time just having fun with combat and clearing camps and so I was not even close to finished exploring the south-east corner of the map at thirty hours.
Breath of the Wild was a commercial project which needed to sell well enough to save the company so Koroks and Shrines had to be included for the ADHD Rick and Morty audience who don't want to explore and just want epic l00tz/dopamine rushes.

>Gets super dull after 30 hours because you're just hunting shrines and little leaf fuckers.
I honestly love finding them, personally. Some of the shrines have interesting puzzles and even korok puzzles can switch it up occasionally.

It's true kino. Sparse, boring songs for a sparse, boring tech demo

I loved the music in the trials. It was so mysterious and chill.

I started playing 2 days ago and I'm starting to like it. It's very ambient or even jazzy during combat, it really depends on what you're doing in that precise moment.
