The voiced protag sucked. Other than that nothing.

Nothing, its great, just like Skyrim and the many other titles before it. Please don't forget to check out Fallout 76's Atomic Shop!

Recently discovered a YouTuber who did a really good long form analysis of it.

It's really good and intelligent

Emil Pagliarulo not getting fired.

Fallout 4 is proof that not having ex interplay employees like obsidian means youre fallout story is going to be dogshit. Literally the whole premise is a blade runner fan-fic

>Literally the whole premise is a blade runner fan-fic
I don't think you've seen Blade Runner.

Have you? Fallout 4 does little to nothing to try and change up the whole message surrounding what humanity and consciousness means in regards to AI and replicates taking the place of biological humans. Even right down to the memory complications and such

In many ways it wasn't the worst Fallout game.

>what humanity and consciousness means in regards to AI and replicates taking the place of biological humans
You DEFINITELY haven't seen Blade Runner.

No one cares about your insufferable arty interpretation of the basic premise regarding blade runner

It was a game that didn't know if it wanted to be an open-world sandbox, a first-person shooter or a narrative-driven action adventure title. It tried to be all of these things so much that they lost sight of it being a role-playing game.

Because Androids are a high sci-fi concept and Fallout is a low sci-fi franchise. They don't line up well at all. Worrying about synths in a ruined wasteland is absurd, it's like the KFC Doubledown of plots. When the Institute and BoS are both extremely high-tech factions, it completely robs the world of its style and impact.

The Scorched Plague are a vastly better villain. FO76 is a vastly better Fallout game.

YOU are the one with the insufferable arty interpretation. All Blade Runner was meant to be about was homicidal robots not wanting to "die". That's it. It doesn't raise questions about the soul or any of that shit. I'm guessing all you saw was Blade Runner 2049 and assumed the first movie had the same plot.

It actually is not that bad. I remember thinking it was shit when it first came out because I was hyped as shit for it and it ended up being Fallout 3 with settlers and weapon mods, which is not what I expected. Recently tried it again on my Xbone X with some good mods and I am sincerely enjoying it. Most of the initial shit has been cleaned up, mods have been ironed out to perfection, I hadn't played a fallout title for years, and I wasn't hunched on a computer. It's pretty comfy unless you go straight from another fallout because it's just copy and paste

I only seen the directors cut, i dunno if you've only seen a version with a ton of shit cut out

The only fun way to play Fallout 4 is to side with the Brotherhood. The game turns into a fun BOOM BOOM PEW PEW spectacle looter shooter where you occassionally build a house.

I got a mod that turned the Brotherhood into Nazis and another that made the MM Jon Roh death squads, and I basically purified the common wealth. Was fun.

>Voiced protag
>boring factions
>settlement and building crap that nobody asked for
>almost no cool looking armor

Did Fallout 4 ever get any decent sexy mods?

>refusing to leave their embarrassing old engine comfort zone
>no fov slider or toggle aim in a fps
>can't code ladders
>continuing to remove rpg features
>voiced protagonist
>all conversation options are yes, yes later or no (yes)
Just remake fallout 3 in unreal engine 4 already.

The director's cut is wank. It's Ridley Scott desperately trying to make simple sci-fi schlock into something deep and meaningful and utterly failing at it. The original story and the script to the film make it quite clear what the story is about and it's not "What is life? What is the soul? Is artificial life true life?" or anything like that. It was actually the exact opposite. They are just robots. Fuck Ridley Scott for his "Deckard was a replicant" crap. Worst fucking twist ever. The guy who wrote the original story thought it was stupid. The guy who wrote the script thought it was stupid. The actors thought it was stupid. The producers thought it was stupid. Fucking everyone did except Ridley Scott and his retard fanboys.

It's got a few, and they're actually pretty damn stable compared to other Bethesda porn mods. The problem more than anything is lack of animations. There's maybe 200ish total compared to the thousands for Skyrim LE.

Too much templated content
Shitty conversations
Boring templated loot
Mother of all bullet sponge. Jesus christ, playing on very hard it takes me 100 sniper rounds with max damage in rifles to take down a """""""""legendary""""""""" fuckin' raider.

it was made by bethesda

the Only Fallout that didnt suck such donkey dicks (fallout NV ) wasnt made by Bethesda.

>playing on very hard
You have no right to complain about bullet sponges when you're literally playing the difficulty that drops your damage output down by 50%.

>voiced protag
>4 dialogue options
>no skills, skillchecks
>Shitty perk poster
>Hard focus on settlement building, can't clean settlements without mods that break the game
>Lousy voice cast
>Player sexual companions
>Poorly written factions
>Crappy weapon customization
>Retcons galore

The cons really outweigh the pros, but if you pretend it's not a fallout title, it's not a bad looter shooter.

high sci-fi itself isn't a problem, Bethesda just can't be trusted to use it properly

I think you're purposefully being obtuse. The whole role of the deceives were to "retire" replicates that were trying to blend in with humans, which basically automatically begs those questions you say are irrelevant. I will agree with you the Scott is a faggot for trying to pull the whole "IS DECKARD A REPLICANT TOOOOOOO?????"

The developers put it in there, they made the rest of the game piss easy, I expect it to be playable

Dumbed down even further since the last game, like every bethesda RPG made in the past decade and a half or so. Their target audience is 10 year olds on their ps4, not people who give a shit about the series, roleplaying, or dialogue.

can unreal engine handle interactive items strewn around the map that you can pick up and manipulate? can you have a room full of individual forks?

Nothing. FO4 was an Improvement over 3 (and Skyrim) in almost every way possible. Yea Forums shitposted it into the gutter because of the voiced protag (they then proceeded to pretend that The Witcher 3 was God's gift to video games) and the rework of the leveling/perk system. Now 76, however, was a fucking dumbster fire.

Hes not wrong though. I played on normal, have hundreds of hours and am level like 89.. I'll have a minigun that does like 60 dps and in some cases I will stand point blank and unload like 600 bullets into a legendary super mutants face

No, what was I thinking

Attached: 19754481057.png (500x508, 150K)

Of course. Unreal Engine 4.0 can do everything a game needs, that's why it's the most popular engine. Developers love it and gamers love it.

I wish there was an alternative to Fallout, something that feels like Fallout and Stalker combined.

You would expect upgrades between two games that are so far apart, fallout 4 was underwhelming because of it's poor story and shitty implementation of the settlement system.

Except it can't.

>I'll have a minigun
The Minigun is literally the worst heavy weapon in the game. Use the Gatling Laser.

I'm not saying you're wrong for using it or anything. This perception of "bullet sponges" in Fallout 4 comes from garbage weapons, not the enemies themselves.

>Hunting Rifle
>10mm Pistol
>Minigun
>Submachine Gun

Do not use these guns, that's all I can say. They're the worst offenders for being utter garbage.

There's really only isometric top down games left.
Really fucking annoying when bad devs keep a cool genre hostage by refusing to make a solid game, just like dice keeps fucking battlefield up but they're the only one with that type of game.

>The whole role of the deceives were to "retire" replicates that were trying to blend in with humans, which basically automatically begs those questions you say are irrelevant.
Wrong. The original premise for the existence of blade runners was replicants completely and utterly lack any humanity. They have no morals. They steal and murder indiscriminately. This is demonstrated in the film. They were really fucking dangerous and that they could so effectively imitate a human was a major factor in what made them so dangerous. There was never question of whether or not they had a soul. They did not. That was what the story originally was until Scott muddled the film into a mess. The producers cut is actually the one that is the most accurate to the original script. It's the superior cut.

There's FROST?

You're entirely missing the point. Sitting point blank with any weapon and having someone's skull just absorb a hail of gun-fire as blood pours out is a bad mechanic.

bro you gotta use armor pierce on those fuckers

Sometimes a legendary modification can make those peashooters good though. I think I had a minigun that shot explosive bullets, each bullet dealed a fixed amount of explosive damage so the sheer rate of fire gibbed enemies.

So that whole "tears in the rain" monologue was just some throw away faggy shit? No catharsis meant to be made after Deckard's life is saved?

>played fallout 4 around launch
>beat it on normal and uninstalled
>reinstalled when survival mode happened
>felt like the game was made for this
>but then enemies started to ignore damage and one shot me
>uninstalled again
Haven't played since, tried 76 for a bit when it got dirt cheap but the green and living world ruined it immediately.

Attached: 17703987903.jpg (465x600, 94K)

Oh yeah an Explosive Minigun is like the only time that weapon becomes God tier. But even still, you're much better off using the Gatling Laser which either deals like 800dps but eats Fusion Core juice like crazy - or 350dps but it sips the FC juice very frugally.

Wait, is there really not an FOV slider in FO4???

shit series

No, but there's a decent mod for it.

nexusmods.com/fallout4/mods/36768

They included it in Fallout 76 but it's broken lmao.

Oh it is, but the Minigun sucks in Fallout 4 because Bethesda wanted to give what should be a powerful heavy weapon to a Lv3 character during the introduction to Preston. This is what caused the gun to go full garbage.

So i kind of joined the institute. We fucked up the Brotherhood and the main quests have ended. Like what the fuck was the point of that? What now? I thought we where gonna recreate the world, i thought there was gonna be a shit load of quests where i made decisions for the institute and such and decided how shit was gonna be. Lawrence Higgs talked about how he didn't like the synths and there should be less of them,i agreed with him. Thought that maybe as i became the fuhrer, i mean boss of the institute i'd be able to promote him and then we recreated the world for real humans and then destroy the synths. I am disappointed.

Attached: F4_Higgs.png (1414x1010, 1.27M)

>busted old engine with physics speed tied to frame rate
>look down at ground to make frame rate go up
>suddenly move faster than other players
Can't make this shit up.

>So that whole "tears in the rain" monologue was just some throw away faggy shit?
Absolutely.
>No catharsis meant to be made after Deckard's life is saved?
He saves Deckard's life for purely selfish reasons. He has no appreciation for anything beyond his own existence. By saving Deckard he's holding on to the one way he can to prolong his existence, Deckard's memory of him. The point of Rachel in the film was to demonstrate memories are meaningless. Batty doesn't get it because he's just a robot.

>No skills
>Shitty dialogue options
>Shitty writing
>Poor quests

No, I'm saying a mechanic where you're gun that was great 20 levels ago now is reduced to shooting nerf bullets and a SM's titanium skull has a comedic tone to it, and pretty much ruins and immersion. Like you have this big loud gun firing a hail of bullets and your enemy is just like "Man I wish they'd stop."

>Deckard's memory of him. The point of Rachel in the film was to demonstrate memories are meaningless. Batty doesn't get it because he's just a robot.

This eerily sounds like fallout 4 though, just sayin

Not Assaultrons, that's for sure.

The fact certain weapons get worse as you level in f4 is bullshit. I can play new vegas the whole game using the weapons you get in goodsprings and have little trouble. For f4, I feel I need a guide for what weapons to use after certain levels.

I'm disappointed you couldn't re-recruit Vergil to work on his FEV cure after becoming Director. Or do anything with Institute policy for that matter

Not a single one of these posters has read Do Androids Dream Of Electronic Sheep. The whole point of the book was to explore themes of humanity and empathy. Explicitly so. The movie actualy did away with a huge chunk of the book, the fad of keeping live animals, Mercerism etc.

Really? You're going to act like the writing and lack of rpg mechanics wasn't absolute dogshit?

Attached: 1563817120387.png (497x518, 336K)

It's mainly just a select few. Here are all the good ones.

>44 Magnum
>Alien Blaster
>Deliverer
>Western Revolver
>Assault Rifle
>Combat Rifle
>Gauss Rifle
>Handmade Rifle
>Lever-Action Rifle
>Radium Rifle
>Combat Shotgun
>Fat Man
>The Striker
>Nuka-Nuke Launcher
>Harpoon Gun
>Missiler Launcher
>Broadsider
>Gatling Laser
>Plasma Gun (All Variants - Rifle, Pistol etc.)
>Tesla Rifle

you are objectively wrong about all this shit too. I've gotten to the point where a combat shotgun takes like 8 slugs to kill someone, or a fully charged gauss rifle barely takes a chunk

Then your perks are garbage or you're playing on Very Hard which is a terrible idea because - again - it reduces your damage from 100% to 50%. My fully kitted out Gauss Rifle kills everything in one/two shots barring Super Mutant Warlords who take maybe five.

Oblivion/FO3/NV skill system was too difficult for the target audience. Same for traits, karma or a real dialogue system.

Obsidian didn't make it.

The settlement building was nice but they expect it to replace actual settlements and there are just too fucking many in the game. Not to mention you basically are made the leader of your own faction but have no control over it and the bonuses are kind of meh.

No So.ythesda employee has ever seen a gun in real life, so they made all the guns ugly hunks of junk. If they put so much emphasis on the shit combat then the weapons should look nice
