I mean, a huge part of Veronica's story has to do with her girlfriend. So, there's that.
But really having dudes who happen to be gay is just fine. Hell, even dudes talking about loving dick is fine. It just often feels forced because it kind of has to be.
Take Star Trek as an example. To have a full representative cast ethnically and racially and in terms of sex, you can just throw Uhura and Sulu on the bridge. Done, you can see a black woman and an asian man.
But to have a gay character, you HAVE to show Sulu with his husband, or he has to talk about his husband, or something like that. Which is why the trap isn't talking about sexuality, it's making the reveal the entirety of their personality. Gay Tony is a good gay character, Veronica and Gannon are good gay characters, that one guy from The Last of Us was a good gay character, and (shockingly) the gay wizard from the third Dragon Age game was a good gay character. There are plenty of others, too. The problem is when it's like that one guy whose only interactions are about his husband, which is just as shitty as Dom in Gears of War 2 just talking about his wife the entire fucking game.
