The only issue is the lightning move personally. That move (uncharged) comes out way too fast and literally hits half way across the stage. Also, being a projectile heavy character and him being allowed to use bounce for what feels like 10-15 seconds is a little much.

And even then they have different properties. Shadow Ball moves in a zig-zag pattern and has a set damage and knockback for all levels of charge while Aura Sphere wiggles up and down when small but moves straight when fully charged and it's also affected by Reversal.

(Also, The fire spell charges 3 times faster than Thoron, has the size of a Charged-shot from Samus, and kills at 30%. Meanwhile Thoron struggles to kill at 100%. You CAN spam Robin's spells, though, until the tomes lose their power, and then you just wait a couple seconds for them to come back. Hero requires micro-managing an MP meter that fills up veeeerrrry slooowwwwwly unless you can hit the opponent with your sword, something far from guaranteed against anyone competent. Robin also doesn't have a shitload of RNG in his attacks.

Some spells have a really really high ratio of chances of appearing regardless of how many times you used them. Zoom , for example, will appear very often and will make you virtually impossible de gimp from edgeguarding alone because there's almost always a way to get back. The absolute fucking WORST part is that fox/falco/wolf mains will be made into literal bitches because of that bounce and accelerate effect. The only real counter character is Villager and even that won't do much to help.

Also their kits work very differently though, all of Robins spells are used in different set of tomes you have more options to work around, while Hero has every special tied up to his MP meter, and while yeah you can charge then up they ate up a lot of the same meter, they basically focus on management of their tools but in very different ways with Robin being more consistent and Hero being more rewarding but risky, very different overall if you try to look then in deeper way.

I've been playing this fucking low-tier for 6 years, trust me i know my shit when i tell you i felt near no differences between their spell management except Hero is much less costy and can basically do the exact same shit.

Both Kazapp and Thoron fills the same spot of being the final charge of a move that can hit you from the opposite side of the stage (Upwards for Kazapp and Sideways for Thoron) except Kazapp gets to keep Super-Armor, on top of stunning people on the ground and then deal 70% damages to both sides and tearing-through shields.

i wish it was that simple but they made really shitty design choices by binding Elwind to the jab-flurry move. I've never been running out of Elwind tomes as much as in this game because of how strict the timing is to get the gentleman move (which uses fire tomes instead). Hero can at least get a tiny boost from low-MP Up-B; but Robin doesn't get jack-shit if (s)he Up-B with only 2 bars left - she'll just do a insignificant bump upwards and immediatly ditch the tome.

There's no actual way to keep an eye on how many units of tomes you have left unless you consume one - and consuming elwind means fucking up your recovery even more. So you're never really sure if you can make it back because it might turn out that you were about to run out and just never knew. (also Pikachu's lighting bolts tear through that recovery's ammo like paper).

I imagine that the good heroes will only use rng shit when they are up a stock. They'll rely on safe down b boosts, his amazing specials and good zoning to secure the first stock. I only see this character struggling against spacies and joker desu. I don't think anyone else has the speed or frame data to capitalize on this characters weakness.

i do know that. But online you get the threat of the buffer-hold mechanic getting in the way (which wasn't in Smash 4, so you could immediatly act if you fucked up your Gentleman and try again) ; so it's safer to just use the multi-hit instead, which is Shield-safe to an extent.

a shit ton of characters have jab-flurries that do the same thing for no costs at all. Because it's unique doesn't mean it's good or useful.
Not sure about the timing on normal smash however. So far i've been playing only online and for so long that i came to just try and predict the lag spikes to not make too many risky moves that would fuck me over.

The fuck are you on? Robin actually has a visual cue, if you can't see it you have some issues with the character, also having all his specials set in different tomes isn't that much of an issue.

Hero has all of his spells, ALL of then tied to his MP meter, so if you focus so much on offensive and using the command spells too much you can cripple your moveset and recovery quite easily, at least Robin even if he loses a tome can still have more individual options to put fight, even his tome can work as makeshift weapons and comeback on their own in short time.

How long the "attack" portion lasts(meatiness)
How quickly you return to neutral(recovery)

Being plus or minus refers to your recovery in relation to how long someone is stunned from blocking or being hit by the attack, determining whether you are safe to block immediately after or if you can be punished by someone in the know.

Hero's neutral b is nothing like Robin's, all of Thunder's different charge states are basically different moves that have different travel times and affects, Hero's neutral B is much closer to the standard charge and fire projectile like Samus or Mewtwo.
Robin's Arcfire is a multihitting trapping move while Hero's side B isn't even a projectile, just a big disjoint who's final form is an armored melee attack, they have nothing in common. Furthermore Robin's Nosferstu is a command grab that lifestyles while Heal is a no frills healing move. They have nothing in common.

Hero is a resourced based fighter like Inkling, Cloud, Olimar, Joker, etc. Unless you think Robin stole from Ness your argument is a joke.

You can easily tell what the buffs are based on the animation, and his menu is both slow and most of the moves follow the idea of don't be in front of him. Have you guys played online tourney yet? For me it's the perfect blend between quick play (always new opponents) and arena (no need to worry about GSP). I really enjoy it and if you win the tournament you even get two legendary spirits.

Almost all of Kens moves have different animations, overall being faster and has multi-hit specials, but is still considered an echo. Echoes having a completely different special is also a precedent thanks to Chrom. Doc by all means should be an echo but isn't because of Melee grandfathering I suppose.

you know how sometimes you get hit even though it doesn't look like it? The hurtbox is an invisible box that determines wether you get hit by things or not. Hurtbox shifting is what happens when the overall shape of the hurtbox suddenly changes into something else; making you dodge (or pulling you straight into) an Attack. It's not usually super important until it comes to very slender or tiny characters.

Sometimes Hurtbox shifting can cause your death when you're on the edges of the blastzone (mostly characters that can inflate; like Dedede) - their hurtbox gets a lot bigger as well

Joker's hurtbox is all over the place because he's made from Sheik and ZSS; so he can dodge a ton of attacks unvoluntarily.
