Only thing he says relating to my post is implying that characters are not cosmetics, but characters in this game are straight up just cosmetic differences of 4 different speed classes. The only non-cosmetic content are the tracks, which everyone gets for free without having to bother with coins.

I’m not saying that they haven’t done anything wrong. The fact that most of the content introduced is limited to a month with no announced return date is incentive to clean out the pit stop and spend real money. The game is also a month old and there are still a handful of bugs that exist and this is where their focus is. That being said I’m glad the game gets updates for tracks and characters because I was really disappointed when they announced that half the roster was cnk characters.
Once they know you'll accept it, they'll push it further next time.
I like to imagine that for a moment, the higher ups thought "do you think we could, like, put micro transactions but only some time after launch so we avoid bad press and still get to milk idiots ?", then proceeded to feel some guilt about it this really, really low blow, then shrugged it off. It's not about this one game really but the game industry slowly training people to think this way. There is a difference between fighting against a problem and ignoring it, mainly being when you ignore a problem you become powerless. It has better tracks, music, and arguabley better characters (because besides Diddy they were all OC) in my opinion. However I think the controls and gameplay are much better in CTR. I don't like the CTR challenges, but I am grateful there are only three collectibles instead of ten like the Silver Coin Challenges. That one Windmill track's Silver Coin Challenge took me hours.

I just want more quality of life features since organizing a lobby is like pulling teeth. Not like their servers are doing much anyway, a fucking database with plaintext entries, a MOTD, and a basic matchmaking service that only points people towards one another. Joining a lobby via a 6 digit code should come easily considering how little their server is actually involved in the process aside from phoning home after every match to increase your dickpoints.
