By the way, that's five sports games (three of which baseball games) in the top ten. Japan almost feels like Europe this week.

FIRE EMBLEM BOMBED AND IT DIDNT EVEN HELP SWITCH SALES

Niche franchise

>1. [3DS] Fire Emblem Fates – 260,675 / NEW

Fates did 300k by adding up all the versions.

I doubt there are 100k vouchers

Are they angry that the school theme has become so wildly successful in gaijinland?
Is this their rebuttal?

So worse but still kind of ok.
I imagine Echoes is somewhere around 90 then?

>131k
Interesting.

>Rune Factory 4 Special
AAAAAA I WANT IT NOW

Understand that Fates counts all the versions
Which are actually different games completely
And you know all the FE fans are gonna buy both

>Fire Emblem Awakening - 242,600
>Fire Emblem Fates - 303,666
>Fire Emblem Echoes - 131,668
>Fire Emblem Three Houses - 143,130

Attached: FuckinWeebs.jpg (599x395, 42K)

Rune Factory 4 Special did decently, 5 can probably do around the same amount as the original 4.

niche franchise, japan is busy playing fate go

Hmmm, could you stop using that image for the OP? It's quite problematic.

Expected Switch to sell more than 50K with FE

not a month and yw is already out of top 10 kek

Franchise ran out of time.

Why the fuck did Sega decide to release a realistic Olympic Games on Switch too? Everyone and their mother is going to get Mario & Sonic instead.

FE did pretty fucking bad.

The FETH sales seem bad especially when compared to how it's been selling out in the west(which also has vouchers). Not like the Switch is unpopular in Japan either.

Did nips really like the children of the last two games?

>People are forgetting that Japanese are buying digital
>They're only counting 2 days of sale

Attached: 20190730_112849.jpg (640x960, 45K)

>Did nips really like the children of the last two games?

Yes and no. They were fan favorites in Awakening and outright loathed in Fates.

"Japanese are buying digital" would apply to all recent FE games, not just 3H.

they did like the designs in fates and awakening, camilla and tharja lucina corrin chrom still got more fanarts than any fe th girl

Keep in mind Three Houses also costs 50% more than the 3DS games.

>Japanese are buying digital

Isn't digital sales something of a joke there? There is a reason why Japan is one of the few places were you still can get away with selling physical DLC

Also games there don't have a max cap as far pricing goes, leading to situations were XC2 is helluva expensive compared to BotW & Odyssey

I'm really curious about the actual sales
It probably went up to 200k with the vouchers, which is still below Fates.

how come super mario maker 2 isn't doing as well as I expected? doesn't japan literally adore 2D mario? how did the first game do?

>Voucher for 2 games: ¥9820
>Fire Emblem Three Houses: ¥7540
>Astral Chain: ¥8680

Thanks, dude on NintendoEverything.

For one thing, it's more expensive than the DS counterparts and isn't riding on the 'forever shutting down if it doesn't sell' hype of Awakening, nor riding on the hype of Awakening of Fate. But then again, seems like a lion share of the sales is coming from the west so maybe it's a matter of catering to different taste.

>Fire Emblem is selling more in the west now

oh boy here we go

Attached: ztd.jpg (4209x5953, 2.71M)

In hindsight, 3H never really had a chance in outselling Fates considering how much stuff those games did in order to lure as many people as possible

So how much is FETH in Japan? It's not $80+ like XC2 because of how much potential hours you can put in, right?

Fates had 3 versions. And you know fans are suckers so they probably bought all 3 versions.

Holy fuck. What the hell is with that ridiculous pricing?

Yeah ok. Elevens probably massively bought it digitally.

That hasn't stopped the majority of other Switch titles breaking series sales records.

Fates let you buy the other routes digitally.

>b-but digital!
Just accept that the game "underperformed" in Japan, it happens.

see if you wanna get an idea how weird the pricing is there

Another thing: Fire Emblem Awakening released on Thursday, April 19th 2012 and Fates on Thursday, June 25th 2015. That means three days of sales were counted (Thursday, Friday and Saturday since they're tallied up on Sunday). Three Houses released on Friday, July 26th so it only got two days tracked instead of three. Full first week sales would be a better comparison, if they were available.

Can't wait for the open world FE

>FE bomba
>Game is short on physical Stock
are you the kid that was mad cause ATLUS didnt own FE?

derp. meant to link instead

Have you seen the prices of all of those? Look above, TH isn't selling at just $60 like the west is.

>Game is short on physical Stock

source or it never happened

Xenoblade 2 sold better in the west than it did in Japan. Most Nintendo games sell better in the West. So that's a dumb statement.

>Digital
>on 3DS
the special Olympics are not till next year user

I'm kinda shocked IS didn't triple down and go further on the fanservice elements after the success of Fates and Heroes.

I'm sure they learned their lesson now, big tittied cake sluts and imoutos will be back in the next entry

Heroes gives them all the fanservice money they could ever want from whales, it's already grossed far over half a billion dollars. Maybe they just decided to keep that stuff mostly there to ensure people won't lose interest.

We'll see about the global sales before judging.

Are you idiots really gonna try to pretend more people aren't buying digital than they were 4 years ago? Especially when the 3ds had only 2 gb of storage?

I hope they start caring more about the west if 3H ends up being helluva huge here. Both Awakening and Fates was quite infamous for heavily pandering to the japanese fans

Well for once the game was apparently having a better opening in the UK. So who knows.

>Are you idiots really gonna try to pretend more people aren't buying digital than they were 4 years ago?

If we're talking about Japan yes. They're the exception to the rule to the point DLC had to be sold physically for many years to be profitable

2 Days for Chine Presentation
2 Months for Switch Mini (and the slaughter it will ensure)

>probably three months left until Nintendo gives the official numbers on Three Houses and clears its performance up since their latest investor meeting just happened
It's not fair.

Attached: lucina.gif (244x170, 1.89M)

An important thing for people to remember is that the switch has sold proportionally less in Japan than the 3ds did. At the moment the audience is definitely more western oriented. The Japanese switch audience won't pick up until the lite is out and their two big games are out (new gen Pokemon and animal crossing).

Digital is still more important that it was a few years ago. Regardless of regions.

The Japanese market is so small now, it's hard to believe the games are even profitable.

>muh digital sales

Game sold like 150k less

Probably an easy asset flip cashing in the physics of Mario and Sonic

>Most Nintendo games sell better in the West.
Almost all games sell better in the West. Including niche weebshit.

Why? So the West can abandon the series again like with Tellius? Fucking over your core anbase for flaky Western fans is a death sentence.

And it probably sold twice that outside of Japan, so what?
FE core audience are pseudo grandpa faggots who now play FEH

>Almost all games sell better in the West. Including niche weebshit.
Eh are you sure about that?

So unsurprisingly people are going for the voucher because it’s just straight up cheaper

Yes

The Japanese game industry isn't able to sustain itself with Japanese game sales alone anymore. That's why pretty much any Japanese game of note gets a localization nowadays

>pseudo grandpa faggots
Pensioners have no money for video games. They're only on /feg/ talking shit. FE's core audience are all the people than bought Awakening and Fates. And they fucked them over by releasing Echoes for unemployed grandpas which bombed and killed the momentum of the series.

Unironically the voucher is a big deal
Why spend 80$ on 1 game when you could put 20$ and get 2?
That’s 60$ in savings especially with how weak the yen is right now

The western market is so much bigger that only a cultural icon like Dragon Quest and a few other examples sell better in Japan than they do in the west.

Got any numbers to illustrate that? For a niche weeb game of course.

The people in the West who buy Japanese games buy them for the weebyness. Downplaying it to pander to Western pseudo-intellectuals is self-defeating.

Its over FEbros. Its selling as bad as Echoes.
Hope you enjoyed the last FE game, I sure did

>Hope you enjoyed the last FE game, I sure did
Good for you then. Better enjoy that last game than having a bad taste with the last one.

I'm really interested to see if the Lite will take off.

It's honesty, in my opinion, pretty worthless for not being dockable but God knows those darn gooks love them some handhelds.

>3H's box art was so bad that nobody wants to buy it physical and have that abomination sitting on their shelf

Japanese sales aren't this small on general, they're smaller now than they normally are because Japan hasn't bought into the switch like the West has. This is for a couple reasons. Firs of all, the games they care about aren't out yet. Unlike in the west where Mario and Zelda are the big sellers in Japan it's Pokemon and animal crossing. Splatoon is big as well but not as big as those. Japan was not interested in LGPE. Japan is the only region where the switch is underwhelming the 3ds at this point in its life, and that won't change until those 2 games are out.

Switch costs way too much for handheld niggers. We'll see how the Lite will fare when it comes out

So you mean to tell me the Switch outsold both versions of the PS4 in Japan and that isn't even its final form yet?

Attached: file.png (579x388, 35K)

Not MH anymore.

>Japan hasn't bought into the switch like the West has
What the hell are you on about?

The literally had dockless Switches at the lower price of 220$
The lite shaves off another 20$ and gives them more colors.
It’ll fly off the shelves

I literally just said it in the post. Japan is the ONLY region where the switch is selling below the 3ds time aligned. Japan isn't gonna buy into the switch like other regions until it has their big games and the lite is out.

>Japanese sales aren't this small on general, they're smaller now than they normally are because Japan hasn't bought into the switch like the West has.
is this nigger high?

you need a real scope son.

not buying into 3DS like =/= not doing good

It just means 3DS did exceptional on Japan and that is likely due to pricing if nothing else

Wow, did Yo-kai Watch 4 already fall off the charts?

>FE3H flopped
Based nips having good taste for one

Its because at this point the 3ds had an animal crossing game.

>>FE3H flopped
>Vouchers
>more $$$ Per unit sold
>flopped
Sony please.

I don't even need to tell you to cope.

>people talking about japan and the west while forgetting the only actually relevant market

Attached: 1538764152380.jpg (1400x1050, 724K)

China just pirates everything. It's really fucked up. They have the money to support the industry but they choose to leach instead.

It costs 1000 yen more compared to other games, so using a voucher gives you a bigger discount.
In the west it's 60 like everything else

you're living in a world that existed 20 years ago
bloombergquint.com/business/bilibili-billionaire-a-red-hot-tech-firm-rides-gen-z-to-riches
chinese weebs spend over 7000$ a year on luxury products

Why the fuck is Three Houses and Astral Chain so fucking expensive? Is it the cartridge?

Not on video games.

This is what happens when you replace the man who saved the franchise with some third rate otome hack.

Attached: Bring Kozaki Back.jpg (1536x3500, 1.16M)

if out of the 100 million chinese weebs who spend a lot on luxury shit just 1% spends on games that's still more than the west and japan combined

The new art is great post time skip

Yeah we need the Switch door wedge for less than 100$

If the Chinese were buying a significant amount of games we would see it reflected in sales reports. They just pirate all the games.

>Home consoles generally do better in the west than handhelds
>Handhelds generally do better in Japan than home consoles
>Hybrid console does better in the west than most dedicated handhelds do but worse in Japan than most dedicated handhelds do
It's not rocket science.

That's normal price in Japan. New games usually cost around 8k yen, remakes/remasters go for 5-6k yen.

we see them on the reports that include china, you just have to consider that it's usually published by tencent or another chinese company in china

>NOOOO MUH VOUCHERS
>In a country where hardly anyone buys digital

Attached: 1560580308835.png (1136x640, 587K)

So the voucher is literally way cheaper in Japan compared to the US where it just shaves off $20 off the price of 2 full MSRP $60 titles?

Dang. Are the Square-Enix and Marvelous titles like Dragon Quest, Octopath or Daemon X Machina part of the voucher program in Japan? Or is that just a "Published by Nintendo in America so they get vouchers"

>>In a country where hardly anyone buys digital
>2 games on voucher is almost 30-40% cheaper than individuals
you are not an smart cookie, arent ya?

I didn't buy it because....its not a on the ds

When is awakening 2 returning ? I want my bois back, I want nowi and I want donnel

How the fuck people keep saying this shit with a straight face when digital share has been rising year-over-year?

mah man

Attached: black-guy-laughing-xoxo.jpg (392x392, 14K)

If Awakening wasn't getting a direct sequel on the 3DS it's never happening.

Probably will get a remake in like 20 years though.

wow.. that's low for 3H. hope digital / vouchers help it

>pretty good for a third rf4 release
Ah, was there a Best Price one as well?

As for Three Houses, they tracked only two days instead of three like the 3DS games.

>NSW | 42.689 | 45.596
>PS4 # | 11.182 | 13.484

hardware down too

Holy shit. It flopped!? Fucking YES! This is the happiest I have been since this shit came out. Modern FE is shit, and this looks to be the shittiest of them all. Yet people are too overwhelmed by hype and stuck in the honeymoon period. I thought I was going to have to wait a few months for more people to start hating but if it flopped that is all that needs to be said!!! AAhhhhhhh, thank fucking god. Now I can sound more convincing when I try to convince people they game sucks and they are only tricking themselves into liking it!!!

They can put any price they want.
The west just forces $60 on everything and leaves the rest for microtransaction.

yes. i believe i remember a best price release

and even if just 2 days. that is still not impressive. next week will tell more though

Attached: twitter.com saisyuusensi EApZ2KyUIAEd4TR.png orig myrrh.png (495x530, 139K)

IS must be reeling quite a bit considering how they had pretty consistent marketing for 3H in Japan since around April.

gonna be a fun wait

Poor dat

Unironically blame Maeda for that. The dude was thinking with his nostalgia boner and not with actual logic.

cope you FE hater

that's some pricing

I just want to see the sales in the US and europe now.

Why are the vouchers so cheap in Nipland?

hope for legs

>Dang. Are the Square-Enix and Marvelous titles like Dragon Quest, Octopath or Daemon X Machina part of the voucher program in Japan?

Yes they are

DQ Builders 2 didn't even top the charts

Time to nuke Japan

NINTENDO WON

hope it helps Daemon X Machina and astral chain somewhat

Attached: Daemon x Machina.jpg (1280x720, 71K)

None of them are EA games so its ok

the game has been out for over a year in Japan

>sales figures based on literally 2 days
>IT DIDNT SELL A MILLION IN 2 DAYS SO ITS A FLOP!!!!!!

Is this every week or what?

Why do you nignogs care about what's popular on a few islands but don't care about what's popular in Europe and America?

>you know all the FE fans are gonna buy both

You're better off only buying 1 physical version of Fates. Because the other version is half price as DLC, there's bonus unlocks for having the DLC route and you get to transfer units/skills between routes across playthroughs.

Buying them separately costs more and offers less features.

Didn't XC2 receive a significant boost in sales in Japan due to the voucher program?

There's actually no reason for every game to be a fixed $60, when you think about it. I wouldn't mind paying a 100h game with a lot of content a bit more, and definitely would welcome 13h AAA shooter to be sold at 30$. Only indies get it right. And even then, not always.

Attached: Pyra Voucher.png (600x900, 437K)

Art is dog shit and game is filled with western pandering like the negro starter. Glad it failed.

>people think FE failed
next Quaterly report will be an ice opener

Yes, it absolutely did. And up to March 31, Monolith Soft doubled its profits Y-to-Y, and that's not even accounting for the voucher that went effective later nintendoenthusiast.com/2019/07/05/monolith-soft-double-profits/

Attached: D7Ux-zgUIAAAzTs.jpg orig.jpg (1920x1080, 372K)

You mean like global warming?

To think just one generation ago, Fire Emblem was on the road to becoming the next F-Zero

>one ps4 game
ohnononono

Bring back Advance Wars.

shit, mental fart.

Eyes opener

We do, but Japan is the only region we get regular, detailed sales numbers.

no, but worst debut than awakening and fates, its a flop

I wonder if it is though.
I'm also curious what may have led to the decline. Awakening and Fates had a similar Japanese installbase when they launched compared to 3H

>2 days
I swear, you people are more focus on things flopping than actually seeing things succeeding.

only when they figure out how to add supports
