Who was this meant for?

>Remove the time limit entirely
>The people who hate time limits have no interest in a fourth title in a series
>Basically nobody buys Dead Rising 4

Why did they make this?

The remove of time limit was kind of fine, since they say they wanted people to explore the game more, but the issue is that the game mission is so limited, there's also lack of hidden spot and less weapon compare to 3

>The people who hate time limits have no interest in a fourth title in a series

Baseless assumption.

I pirated this once just to check it out.
Disregarding what they did to Frank, the worst thing for me was how weightless the combat felt, Like you are pushing over life sized rag dolls instead of actual zombies

I don't think the developers even knew.

>those stealth sections

I watched some videos a few years ago about how the game seemed incredibly rushed.

I need to play DR3 again. Never did get around to finishing it.

Maybe this was what killed it for me. Something about the combat just felt hollow. I could run around doing fucking whatever and make a decent time of it in all the previous games, but here it just felt so stale so fast.
This shit is one of those cases where Soul vs Soulless isn't even memeing.

Dead Rising as a franchise was a mistake.

But there's literally a sandbox mode in every entry already.

Dead Rising 1 was such a great game.

Agreed. Note how they brought Frank to be "hey remembur dis guy!!!!!".

you have to thank keiji "japanese games are trash" inafune for that

I'm not even a DR fan, but it boggles my fucking my mind what made Capcom suddenly decide to stop developing it internally and hand it over to a western studio. Its pretty clear that DR1 was legitimately full of passion and charm.

Never hated a game more in my life than DR4.

Honest truth. I know there are worse games but when they take a game you treasure and do something like this to it, it makes you a very special kind of angry.

DUDE BIG PACKAGE LMAO

I actually liked DR3 and forced myself not to use the lockers. Unfortunately the game is capped at 30FPS even on PC.

It is? It's been a while since I played it but I'm pretty sure I played it at 60fps.

You gotta use a mod to make it happen. Still a pain.

Do you guys think this series will be part of the redemption arc ?

please

FUCK YOU CANADA
FUCK YOU FOR KILLING DEAD RISING
FUCK YOU

>dies
>he didn't buy all the DLC

He's a zombie in the DLC IIRC

blame capcom's con man
dr2 was fine

DR3 was serviceable

Ahh right, there's an ini line to change to unlock the framerate but I remember now that it messed with the vehicles a fair bit. Everything else works fine but vehicles would have more collision issues than normal.

If you take out the lockers, combo shortcuts/time-reductions, and auto-regen, and play on Nightmare Mode. You essentially get what DR3 should’ve been.

I honestly forgot dead rising existed

I wish it was more colorful though

A depressingly large amount of people played DR1, and expected it to be another "kill zombies" game. Instead, they got a large puzzle box with multiple elements that have to be figured out to achieve goals quickly. Those people couldn't wrap their minds around it, and just wanted to hit zombies with silly things.

When DR2: OtR included a sandbox mode that catered to that crowd, it was fine, since it wasn't the whole game. However, the makers of 4 decided that crowd should have a whole game to it, with "wacky" stuff out the ass and a large world at the cost of the details that made the first game so great.

Every game since DR1 has had a sandbox mode.

Seems like you understand what made the prior games work better as little as the devs of 4.

The time limit was a crutch to try and get people to play the game as intended. As in trying to focus on the missions over getting bored by killing zombies over and over.
It's a similar way in which a game like Sonic has a timelimit to motivate players to not really explore the level, but to reach the goal quickly or how in XCOM2 where they had a time-limit until you got fucked during missions

A time limit isn't needed for a Dead Rising game, but you can't just remove it and keep the game as is, because it needed it to not be complete garbage.
Dead Rising needed to evolve as a series, but it never really did.

>>Dead Rising needed to evolve as a series, but it never really did.
>IT NEEDED TO EVOLVE!!!1

This is usually said by a complete retarded pleb who doesn't understand why people liked a game series in the first place and then also wouldn't know how to "evolve" a franchise in the first place.

DR4 wasn't even wacky
it was depressingly bland

>Psychopaths
>Unique bosses with personality
>'lol that's too offensive'
>replace them with le wacky maniacs

>let’s just keep sticking to old formula.

>we have the biggest mall yet
>most of the mall is just nondescript tunnels with a vague christmas theme and a couple of shops on each side connecting the different plazas
>plazas (which are actually quite nice) only make up a third of the mall if at all
>most of the game takes place in the shitty small town surrounding the mall anyway

>Lets make Dead Rising an FPS!
>Lets make Dead Rising a TPS!

I would have liked if they took what they did with Dead Rising 3 and made it good and decently challenging.

Are you saying Dead Rising 1 was the perfect game, 10/10, not a single flaw or rough part about it?
If you are, then you're delusional.

How would you improve DR1? And let me guess

>Make it casual shit for faggots where you can save anywhere you want!!!1

kys

Each weapon has a specific use it sucks

you can't even save anywhere you want in DR4
you have to cross invisible barriers that trigger autosaves (can't do it manually)

No one that loved DR cares about the time limit

DR4 sucked because it was too tame, actions were limited, the voice acting sucked, the plot was shit, etc.

Some moron will say the other games were just as bad, and they can be the retards to do so and be wrong. DR4 was so far removed from 1-3, it might as well be Resident Evil 6 after RE4 and RE5 existed. OR RE4/5 after RE1-3. Too different.

Autosaves are just as cancerous as being able to save anywhere

But you still didn't answer how you'd improve DR1 meaning you're a cum guzzling faggot and should kys

>No one that loved DR cares about the time limit

Uh, it's a big part of why I love it you retarded mongoloid.

Even when it was casualized in DR2 I still liked having the time limit

>No one that loved DR cares about the time limit
speak for yourself faggot

It was fine with all of those things. Play one of the mods that removes those things and the pacing and ejoyment suffers.

>there's a 4th one

Attached: wtf4.gif (500x283, 1.54M)

By fixing the problems, expanding on what's good, removing the time limit (but still redesign it so you don't do the same mistake as 4).
In addition, I would most likely add and remove certain features depending on the situation.

I would have to replay the games to do a proper analysis, but it's fairly pointless to do an extensive write-up when you don't care and I don't gain anything from it.

>By fixing the problems

Which none exist because you can't name them

And basically your point is

>Make it good

Wooooow, so like Dead Rising 1 and even 2 are.

Fifth, if you count OTR.

Attached: blink_glasses.gif (200x235, 647K)

Capcom needs to stop pulling that shit

>Dead Rising 2's second best ending is canon
>Resolution is XBLA exclusive

Not oly that. Case West is XB360 only.
Still baffles me why Capcom or Blue House didn't add it on the re-release for XB1, PS4 and PC but the original DR was okay.

I usually like DR2 more than 1 because the gameplay is better and the combo weapons are fun, even if the map is worse, but now I realize that DR story was actually kinda kino. You see the mall are full of wacky items and the music is comfy but then you do the missions which are usually sad as fuck: a woman see her baby getting eated, an incel always was mocked by women, a man who was biten by a zombie and he refuse to keep living. And I always liked the final scene which Frank screaming after all the madness that happened and how they tell you that despite all that shit it didn’t mattered because people forgot about it due to the overflow of
information. It looks like the story want to say something about the actual state of USA or matbe is just this game looks way to much like Shaun of the Dead. Idk
I still like DR2 wackyness and Chuck one lines after killing a psychopat, but it feels like it didn’t get it what DR1 was about

>Case West is XB360 only.
You can play it on Xbone actually.

>No one that loved DR cares about the time limit
fuck off retard

DR2 and its Zombrex Edition release is forever associated in my mind with a kid in my high school who was expelled for sticking that pen up a girl's vagina in a field
can't play it anymore without cracking up
