So obviously this is a very divisive game. It has an excellent presentation, art style, and overall mood. But the RNG heavy gameplay, multitude of situations where you just can't win without optimal or metagaming, and the tendency of the developers to find and purposefully Nerf or remove successful strategies while piling on additional layers if complications rubs some the wrong way. To some, it seems artificial difficulty, to others needless padding. If you don't get a kick out of the game basic feedback loop it's probably not really for you.

The key thing to remember is that unless you're playing on some meme challenge mode, there's no time limit, and new heroes will arrive to recruit frequently. What this means is characters are completely and utterly disposable. There may be times when your A team eats shit and the game fully expects you to go back and spend hours grinding up a new one to take another whack.

If that kind of long term incremental success gets your neurons firing, then this is definitely the game for you.

I disagree with Grave Robber being in Coward tier, I always read her last words as more...I don't know...on that list I'd say neutral. Don't know if it's still good but in a move comp you could use 2 Highwaymen and a grave robber, you use Point blank, Lunge, for high damage and the riposte ability to move around and be a general nuisance, the grave robber could also use shadowstep to be sort of like a dodge tank

It sticks to the DD formula too hard. The narrator can't live up to Wayne June and his lines are not nearly as well written. It really suffers from intentionally being in DD shadow

Adding to this What kills it for me is how over designed everything looks, the vampire(?) on the left looks like a deviant art OC, and except the slave miner on the right everyone is wearing tacky ornaments that at first glance serve no purpose, compare it to DD with a few exceptions most of the characters and enemies give you a hint on what they are and do based on the things they carry around and despite having a stylized look it's hard to find things that are out of place
