Overall it would have to be my teenage years. In terms of gaming I think I'll miss a lot. Some things I already do, like playing minecraft with my pals over skype. But at the same time there'll be a lot of new things to look forward to, stuff we can't even conceive of yet is gonna be released over the next 10 years, I bet some of it's gonna blow minds.

I definitely wouldn't discredit games being defining of a decade for being indie, I'd argue stuff like Yume Nikki was very defining for indie games in the late 00's.
However, while not bad games, some of these aren't really sensational enough to be defining; sensational as in "popular to a wide, inspiring degree".

I'm gonna be honest because it's 4 AM but I honestly don't remember Oxygen Not Included whatsoever and only vaguely remember its trailer which I recall being pretty survival focused.
I'm definitely not implying they're particularly similar games, just that their impact would be pretty similar except Don't Starve was FAR more well known and in that early '10 era of Steam where it was picking up with a lot of big indie hits so it would have more impact then than Oxygen Not Included would.

Being a 2002 zoomer ( oh no!), let's say the early/ mid 2000s were my early childhood, early in the morning on tv, famous viral videos/songs were transmitted, like chocolate rain (i still remember discovering metal slug 3, one of the first games I've played in 2007) but 2008-2012 were my peak nostalgia on games, youtube, memes and generally everything, 2008 was an important year for me and my bro, because our camping friend made me discover Super Mario, which in turn made me discover the world of videogames.

Returning on topic, 2013/2014 was, for me, the last good years in general, everything got worse ( or more "real" on my perspective), and i disliked/dislike the late 2010s so goddamn much, mainstream culture literally invaded the internet.

There is not need for any innovations or quality anymore. In past there was the jump from text games to full interactive 2D , later to low details 3d and by the 2010 advanced 3d where you can create even a detailed city for a game. Unless someone start new big innovative trend (which vr was supposed to be) , things are going to stay this way for few decades.
You just need to remaster last generation games or create low effort clones . Most of modern media are easily manipulated so reviews or reputation doesn't matter anymore you just have to focus on sales.
There is unlimited demand from newer and dumber generations that didn't experience the old "ugly" games every year.
Think about it every year there is million of kids that grow up to be old enough to play a new gta or shooter for first time in his life and find it amazing and fun. Old players and boomers are a hard to please market and useless risk.

From seems to have moved away from the model and I didn't realize how much I wanted a long-form, real-time RPG adventure with selective co-op until I got it.
I'm most worried about the future of the immersive sim genre. Arkane were practically the only ones in the game this decade and they seem burned out after DotO and Prey.

Here is some comforting facts. Good things, like actual good things not only existing in a popularity bubble, tend to stand the test of time. As long as whatever set of genes that determines good tastes remains within humanity, that good taste will always develop some semblance of a standard. The idea that if an entire medium becomes shit then it will only get worse because the next generation will become acclimated to it is only partially true, because eventually the older superior content can bleed through and prove to future generations its worth.
It might not be the resurgence of the "old game" in of itself because the fact that it's "old" would deter the "new" but if you have a new game that's made with the "old games" standard it will be well received.

This "movie phase" of games isn't sustainable, at least not enough before an entire split in the market occurs.
