What is the trick for N.Gin Labs plat relic. It's the only hard one I have left and I still finish 12 seconds later than I should for the all boxes bonus to help me pass the time.

Aside from trying to keep the boost from the tunnel as long as you can, the only strategy I used was going in reverse at the start of the first lap and break two of the four rows of boxes behind the finish line (one by going in reverse and another by going forward again) so you can break one more row at the end of each of the first two laps.

The blue fire is killing me on this map. I can keep it normally but hitting boxes while trying to keep it is shite. Especially those two boxes at the side before the ramp where the toxic barrel rolls.

I didn't keep it for the lap where I go to get those boxes, just on the other two. And I only kept it until the section with all the 90-degree turns after the barrel since I wouldn't have been able to break all the boxes there otherwise. I managed to get the platinum thanks to the ten-second bonus from breaking all boxes.

First lap I hit all the crates on the left and three rows of crates before the finish line by doing 2 u-turns.
Second lap I hit all the crates on the right and the fourth row at the end.
Third lap I can focus on keeping usf the whole time while breaking the easy crates in the middle.

I'm not arguing that graphics don't matter user. I don't have the game yet and I wasn't sure if any stats were locked behind wumpa coins.

It's a really smart design. The player isn't interested in cosmetics by default, but the game hands out ingame currency and limited cosmetics through general play. Doesn't take long until the player has multiple skins for the character they use the most, as well as enough coins to buy something from the Pit Stop. As soon as the player changes anything from the defaults, they are much more likely to keep customising and thus try to acquire more cosmetics. Combine this with online where everyone's using customised racers, and the contemporary ideology of individualism and the desire to stand out and be unique. Now, you might think "oh I'm not gonna fall for it" but that's because you're a cynical shitter who thinks microtransactions are the equivalent of selling your soul to Satan, the average person who buys this game isn't constantly monitoring themselves for psychological trickery. They will welcome the microtransactions because they don't know that their behavior was engineered through game design.

Don't give a fuck as long as they don't start adding new base characters or add stats to karts and wheels. And neither should you.

I got a shiny female Charizard booting up FireRed and it just kinda went from there. I don't shiny hunt, but have no issue maxing trainer cards/stickers and getting every ribbon possible/obtaining mons from Pokémon Box.

CTR is still pretty impressive, you got not only CTR content, but also Crash Nitro Kart and extras in the base game.

How is that a deflection? Gen 2 had a low amount of new pokemon to use and over-relied on Gen 1 (in both the show and the games). In addition, a lot of them were objectively weak even for casual playthroughs. This was further exacerbated by the general promotions. Gen 1 and 3 surrounded Gen 2 but they had better PR done for them than Gen 2. Gen 1 and Gen 3 pokemon got way more screentime and won more battles in the anime than Gen 2 pokemon. And it's on record that the Gen 2 anime was a slog that killed pokemania and thus Gamefreak said they felt the need to put more effort into Ruby/Sapphire in order to keep the franchise established.

Which I'm grateful for, but I'll still point back to my "leaps and bounds" argument. It took multiple subsequent generations to re-introduce things laid out in gen 2, but that wasn't breaking new ground. Many refinements were made, to be sure, but there's no sense of explosive and radical growth.

In Sewer Speedway the issue is that there are invisible hitboxes halfway up the wall which you collide with. I haven't noticed a similar issue in Hyper Speedway

You'll face that problem on any of those curved sections if you're going fast enough and try to power slide your way through them. You end up going too high and the slope suddenly is classified as a wall and even though the rear of your kart lightly touched it that means you lose all speed.
