Zelda NES and Link's Awakening are better. Maybe even Breath of the Wild and Majora's Mask too. Though, A Link to the Past is still an easy inclusion in the top one hundred games of all time.

Coincidentally just finished my second playthrough of the game. Even though it isn't the greatest Zelda game ever for me, it's definitely in my top 10, and I can appreciate all the freedom you can get and how subsequent runs can benefit heavily from prior experience.
But to me, A Link Between Worlds is the better game, albeit much easier.

ALTTP is actually quite fun, especially when you know some of the secrets and know when you can obtain certain items/abilities

Nah SM's rando is nowhere near as well developed, even if it is still very good, LttP rando has actually dozens of options and makes way more changes to the structure
The mere existence of the SMxLttP rando is a fucking legendary accomplishment though
