Why? To be honest I've been playing SoC lately and it seems to run a lot better modded than COP.

You'd think loners would be true neutral, wouldn't they?

I guess it depends on taste but that screenshot looks ok apart from the aliasing.

HD models, weapons, and textures would be a start, then a reshade or ENB and tweak the r2_ values.

Obviously SoC. Anyone who says otherwise is silly. The real question is which mod is the best?

Anomaly is great despite being based on Call of Misery.
It's also the most stable mod I've played so far.

SoC is the best game. Period.

pretty much this I installed a bunch of mods for CoP ages ago based on some anons recommendation and personally haven't seen anything that compares. Playing CoC currently though so I can't go back to it.

I just finished soc and I liked it but it doesn't really seem that replayable

You either enjoy the atmosphere or you dont. I was hyped for stalker years before it was released, so it probably stuck with me till today.

How can anyone but the military or science teams be lawful if all stalkers are breaking the law by being in the zone?
