Why don't they make games like this anymore?
Apparently this controller is really good for Elite Dangerous.
because it was very expensive and no one bought it
They even made a bucket seat for it, the mad lads
Because as cool as developing a game and controller for it in tandem is, your average mouthbreather can't be bothered to invest/play anything that doesn't work with a standard pad.
Also didn't they not even mass produce the damn thing for steel battalion in the first place?
Because few games demand it and people won't buy it. Exception are flight sims where people can and do make their own virtual cockpits. KSP is another exception, although people just make their own controllers. Here's a few.
Because console niggers don't buy actual games. Making such game for those baby shitters was a stupid idea. They want garbage movies with press x to win instead of games.
Flight/auto sim fans buy 10 times more expensive shit all the time. It's not like they can't afford it, they are just too casual for actual video games. Consoles have been targeting those pleb retards all time, so it's not surprising.
Christ, flipping these chonky industrial switches and having them actually do something in game must be satisfying as hell
it sure does especially when you use actual switches instead of rubber domed ones
>Apparently this controller is really good for Elite Dangerous.
It's not, in fact it's not very good for anything, the layout is nice, but the sticks and pedal quality are woeful and the setup can be a bit of a nightmare.
Still novel to fuck around with in Mechwarrior 3/4 and the odd Space Sim, but eventually you'll just put together a similar setup with budget kit and it'll be cheaper and better quality, G940, T.16000M with an extra stick etc
>never ever
REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>Play Kerbal for years with Keyboard
>Do great.
>Try using my X52 once
>JESUS FUCK WHY IS THE SUN HERE?
Because nobody bought it.
I bet you didn't even buy it. You just saw an image of the controller and thought "whoa epic I'm going to post this on Yea Forums for (You)s"
Not OP, but I got it. Played the game tons. Then found out how to hook it up to my PC, and used it for literal years. Then I took the dive and bought a Warthog, thing's been sitting in my closet since.
these all look cool, nice late 60s vibe
Just use kinect bro
Aren't the older models slightly higher quality? I think it had like blue buttons instead of green ones or something.
im making a game like it
post the mspaint drawing
Holy shit. That's what I've always wanted out of a mech game. Maximum immersion. Shame we can't have full cockpit full of controls though.
need vr tho.
Yeah if you don't have the cockpit, VR is probably needed. I've seen certain cockpits down before at arcades though. Never all that complex though.
Because people might not know how to use it properly
we want to make every lever button and valve serve a function except a few which you wouldn't ever use in combat anyway. Pair that with mp modes and sp campaign and mechwarrior like customization.
Too bad it'll take ages to release to ea and then be stuck there for a while cause even if programming is almost done it'll take ages to make the art.
Who /hasactuallyplayedthis/ here
I've played it at PAX South though always with some shitty dinky mech since the con-nazis always insist on using some dinky little mech with a minimal loadout
Do the buttons actually even do anything?
Yes. That's what makes it amazing
Yeah every button does something. Maybe not something major (if you tip over your mech and fall in the dirt, you’ll have to hit a button to turn on your wipers, for example), but everything has a use
