ITT: Weird keybinds you use

ITT: Weird keybinds you use.
I'll start. I use ctrl to jump and spacebar for ADS in all of my fps games.

It's not that weird but I always use caps lock for crouch, ever since like CS1.6. I have no fucking idea how people use ctrl for crouch and find it comfortable.

strong pinky finger muscles

I use shift

I use C for sprinting in most games if it isn't being used for something else

i use xpadder to bind toggleable turbo buttons to a controller on keyboard and mouse games
im sure theres an easier way to do it but i cant be bothered

The thing is I still use ctrl to jump in games like quake where you have to jump alot or in games like COD where you have to jump/mount and press shift to sprint at the same time. I actually press ctrl using the palm of my hand as a sixth finger and can still leave my pinky for shift or capslock.

I've always used and still use my thumb for 'A', middle finger on 'D' and second finger on 'W'/'S' for any WASD game.

I tried switching to what normal people use but it was impossible, its too deeply hacked in my muscle memory

I have leaning left and right on my thumb buttons
I consider leaning a function of aiming

I rebound alt to pick items up in maplestory

R for crouching in games where there isn't any reloading (Ex: Minecraft)

any time buttons outside of wasd, space, ctrl or shift are used I bind them to side buttons on my mmo mouse

MB 4 + 3 replaced W and S and I use W and S for abilities or common use actions.

I use ESDF

In cs gi
I use e to take my knife out, q to take my pistol out, and space bar to take my rifle out and mousewheel to jump ofc. Capslock for taxer mouse wheel down for bimb 1234 for nades

Cs go*
Also side mouse button for voice chat and dpi switch are bound to volume

shift to shoot

I use alt for crouch but thats about it
I use B to jump in Smash though

as a young azerty baguette I had no idea there were other keyboards, and thus no clue you could alt+shift to qwerty
which led to me using WASD in lots of flash games, it wasn't until the late 2000s that I played my first FPS games and learned that we instead use ZQSD

amazing post

This, sorta. Not always leaning but if I feel like its valuable to the rooty tooty point and shooty I try to bind it to my mouse.

which way does the recoil go, Yea Forums? 95% will get this wrong.
thank you user

It won't change just because the gun is upside down, it will recoil up.

I spit out my fucking drink

Playing the first dues ex right now and the default key bindings make me feel like I'm playing twister with my fingers

Holy shit this is a good idea. I hate using “F” as the use key in games that have lean. I also hate the side mouse buttons being mapped to something consequential like throwing a grenade because I hit them on accident all the time. Thanks user.

I use for reload/ptt

Mouse4 to prone in games where dropshotting is an efficient tactic. Don't really play many garbage hitscans like that anymore though.

Yeah that game does requires some remapping of keys. I think zoom is left bracket?
Speaking of Deus Ex, my contribution to the thread is that if a game has hold to crouch I use ctrl, but if it has toggle crouch, I use C.

It changes. Slight curved handgrip causes the recoil to shift from straight back, to an upwards recoil. Now that its flipped, it will recoil downwards as the gun presses back and against the hand with the handgrip. Basic fucking physics.

Do you think holding a gun sideways makes it recoil sideways?

I use alt to crouch now. I learned it's easier to slide in games using this method.
I use crtl for prone.

Why do you have ads in your games? Do you use keyboard to play mobile ones?

Wheel up/down for bunny hopping of course.
Mouse4 (thumb button closest to palm) for flashlight in any FPS game.

STALKER binding L to flashlight is fucking dumb.

>c crouch
>ctrl prone

I use WASD for the movement instead of the usual WSAD or WADS.

I use mouse wheel down to jump, and use space to switch weapons. I also play inverted-southpaw on controllers. Talk is binded to caps lock and I rebind any grenades to f.

Aiming down sights.

Underrated post

Not really videogame related, but I disable my capslock to use for all kinds of functions paired with an autohotkey script.

Yes because it does

It does, you absolute brainlet. Go shoot a gun.

Specifically for gameboy emus:
Shift and space for shoulder buttons, and right/down arrows for a/b

How retarded are you people?

I always put "change fire mode" to one of my mouse's side button.

>having to rebind all the keys manually because there's no ESDF preset

ESDF is a shit. Even the picture has a WASD keyset.

Literally just move your fingers over I mean what the fuck man

Both ESDF and WASD are QWERTY keybinds ya goof.

I for save state
P for load state

fucking why.

why would you prefer ESDF?

That could honestly be superior to WASD. You open yourself up to more keys and it would be hard to lose where your hand is because the F key has a bump on it. I might consider using this as a sudo macro setup.

I use F to crouch. Everything else is pretty standard.

Homerow muscle memory
And there's simply more keys available in reach on both sides of the hand with ESDF

I have a french keyboard and have to rebind on almost every games because they always use qwerty layout

Attached: file.png (1000x375, 232K)

Yeah, I guarantee its an AZERTY keyset, not QWERTY. he/she/it wants to be special.

Its not

They're the exact same keys in both QWERTY and AZERTY
An AZERTY WASD would be ZQSD

"space to jump" feels awful to me, i always use E

Because it is vastly superior and only failed to become the standard because the dude who was using a custom WASD bind set just barely beat the dude who was using ESDF in a Quake finals match (before such games had those kinds of default binds). Only a few games like Tribes went with ESDF, everyone else imitated Quake after it adopted WASD as their default following that tournament.
