They stopped making it about the journey and started making it all about the destination. All that matters now is grinding end game and everything is locked behind time gated content and daily quests where you just repeat the same shit every day for 75 rep so you can continue the main quest line for another few days before you run out of content/get locked out because your rep isn’t high enough to continue the quest line. They could invest time and effort into making fun quest lines that require effort and teamwork but that would require good writing which blizzard lacks because all the people that came up with the original story and lore left after the company became infested with bean counters and faggy sjw women and Indian/nigger diversity hires who don’t give a fuck about the vision of the game just that it’s turning a 1000000000000% profit. Basically the game is fucked and we are all fucked, I’ll be playing classic though.

It had quite natural life cycle of a video game, and even that was longer than average.

People realized just doing the same shit over and over couldn't be sustainable form of enjoyment. Which is why Wrath petered out even before LFD and Cata's LFR really started to kill it.

All the expansions are different games that are similar in some aspects. The early ones were good, the later ones were bad. They just made shittier and shittier expansions. The reasons are many, but that's all it comes down to at the end. Later expansions are just trash. Even Mists despite it's improvements from Cata was still shit when you take off the relief-and-nostalgia-goggles.

no, they stopped being fun when their was no mystique left which left no adventure along with everything being more and more automated

Nothing, just nothing last forever. The game was gonna lose subs eventually, if a feat to even last as long as it did at the size that it did. The type of people who would grow up playing WoW nowadays play stuff like Minecraft and Fornite.

What killed the game was trying to broaden the appeal so everyone can experience the end game. Aka casualization.
