It was all hype like anything else. Play the game for a while, enjoy the mods; then move on. I fucking loathed the bullet sponge gameplay, but I liked exploring the world.

I was 12 when it came out and my family was kinda poor since it was just me and my mom. I remember watching videos of it online and I figured out a way to play FO1 for free on PC.

Anyway Christmas 2008 I was surprised to find a used xbox 360 under the tree with a new copy of the game and halo 3. Probably one of the most find Christmases I can remember

Yeah, I was a kid too. My family only had a Mac, but someone ported Fallout 3 to OSX. I had to play it at 25 FPS the whole time, but I played it.
