Before bluray discs, size constraints often dictated you could only keep a single voice track, especially if it was a large enough game.
I don't know how they could do this with any game post 2006 tho.

I used to advocate judging dubs by their own merits instead of blindly casting it off for existing. I tried to make everyone see that just because it sounds different than the original doesn't make it worse. Different interpretations should be judged standalone rather than in comparison. But after all that dumb drama going on, I can't for the life of me stomach another dub and I feel like a part of myself has died. So I guess I am quite sad about it.
