Depends on the weapon. Adept guards are much harder to pull off than regular guards, which is how adept dodges should have worked. For some weapons, Valor just gives you more mobility. This means you still have to learn how to put it to good use.

Styles weren't actually that bad of an idea. Just change all the Striker moveset improvements to Alchemy, nerf Adept evades, make Valor only improve mobility for all weapons, and remove hunter arts. I wouldn't mind seeing a more refined version of styles to make a return in Portable 5 if we ever get it.

Actually, it's monsters that do not fit any other criteria for classification. This is why Kirin and Chameleos are elder dragons despite being doing no harm to the local ecosystem.

I just don't like inconsistencies in lore and definitions-is it not the logical thing to have a separate class for monsters that are super powerful and rarely seen.. In lore even Akantor and ukanlos are considered gods yet not classified as the same categories as elders. So what if they use tigrex skeleton? Kirin uses kelbi's and is still an elder. People rarely see or fight the black/white gods yet somehow they have enough information about them to not be elders.

Yeah I have the Jho HBG and I use the health booster too. Don't have temporal so I'll work on getting that, but as for crafting while reloading, it sometimes straight up doesnt work. Does it have to be a manual triangle button reload that lets you craft while reloading?

Akantor on the other hand charges like Tigrex, moves like Tigrex, has the same body structure as a Tigrex, uses roars as a weapon like Tigrex, so on. Also, there are no large monsters in the herbivore class. You could make the argument for fanged beast, but the only monster that looks or acts anything like Kirin is Rajang, who shares one attack where he jumps forward in a similar pattern.

Yes, Diablos, Gammoth, Monoblos, and Duramboros are herbivores, they are not apart of the herbivore class though. Diablos and Monoblos are flying wyverns, Gammoth is a fanged beast, Duramboros is a brute wyvern.

I see it like this: Elder Dragons are freaks of nature of Monster Hunter's world by typical monster standards. You have tried and true dragon physiology such as Fatalis Bros and Kushala, but then you have monsters that literally cannot fit into any other category and I'll list a few right now.

Zorah Magdaros and Lao-Shan Lung: Behemoths of insane proportions. Latter is said to flatten mountains by just walking.
Kirin: To date the only vaguely equestrian shaped monster (along with Oroshi) along with being able to summon lightning from the heavens, something no other monster can do.
Dalamadur: While serpentine in shape is also extremely long and able to summon meteors. Looks like it can literally crush mountains.
Yama Tsukami: A gaint spherical shaped what the fuck somehow able to keep itself afloat with ease and able to sustain an ecosystem on its back.
Narkarkos: Some unknown entity whose real shape is wholly unknown because it uses the bones of the monsters it eats as armor.
Chameleos: Only monster able to turn truly invisible no matter the environment it's in.
Jhen Mohran and Dharen Mohran: Literally sand whales, can move very fast despite their size, and could more than likely sink a certain desert town if hunters weren't keeping it at bay.

Because Ukanlos and Akantor are literally flying wyvern that grew fuck huge while Rajang is a primate able to summon lightning from an organ in its body. They still fit typical monster parameters. It's why Shen Gaoren is still considered a crab despite how ungodly tall it is or Ahtal-Ka still being classified as an insect despite it being able to stitch together literal mechs with its string.

Coming out of a cocoon doesn't make it an adult. It's an eclosion, basically a butterfly which just came out of its pupa. An "adult" Xeno'jiiva would probably work and look very differently in the same way that a butterfly that just came out of its cocoon is very different and acts very differently. Compare the eclosion butterfly on the top left and the adult butterfly on the top right (ignore the bottom two, this is just the best image I could find off of google images)

Bleed is rare in World because it only works for monsters which are REALLY sharp, and it works very well with a specific sort of monster. Just putting it on something like Deviljho wouldn't make sense because Deviljho is really slow so it'd be easy to just crouch and live with it. Also, at this point, Seregios, Nargacuga, Silverwind Nargacuga, Shogun Ceanataur, Rustrazor Ceanataur, Odogaron, and Ebony Odo all deal bleed at this point. Also, it doesn't make too much sense to have tons of bleed monsters because bleed doesn't show up on weapons (which I think is a dumb idea anyway but whatever)

I'd argue the GU Palicos were more useful utility-wise due to the fact you could have more than one of them and have them place traps and shit.

...though world palicos also don't fall over at the slightest gust of wind so I guess you have a point there.

How many hours did you put in? It isn't going to get any better if you don't like it now. You may as well drop it.

GU and World's openings aren't the greatest but the latter is a lot more boring to get into. At least with GU make your character and start questing. You don't even need to do village quests, just go to the Gathering Hub and start hunting the big boys there. World you have to sit through scripted shit that even when you know what you're doing will still take over an hour to complete before the game actually lets you play it.

I guess just play it for at least 1 or two hours, but I absolutely loathed the forced story in World. Too many god damn shitty cutscenes, and you can't even skip them. Then you have to do some terrible siege hunt twice, and it takes around 30 minutes each time.

You're right for the Zinogre, I can't believe how smug that piece of shit is

Zorah is the only siege where you're forced to attack three points on the monster, sit there for 5 minutes doing absolutely nothing before getting moved to the next section, where you fire cannon balls at it and use the dragonator. It is by far the worst siege they've ever done and the way the game's cutscenes try to play up the events leading to and actually doing the quest makes it even worse.

They're neat and all but they don't make up for melee being useless and boring, guns being overpowered and boring, and the whole game feeling like you're wading through mud. In fact, predator styles even enforce gun dominance with all the buffs they apply to OP generation and ranged damage.

He's just fucking annoying and, if I remember correctly, is just designed to interrupt your fights. He isn't like Deviljho in Tri, where Deviljho will spawn in and just roam around the map and you might bump into him. This stupid fucker is programmed to fuck with your hunts.

He helps more than he hurts since monsters attack each other way more than previous games, but he shows up way too often
