I thought it was just a meme that he's the villain in every Japanese game, but Nioh and Sekiro both used him as endgame bosses. What's up with that?
I thought it was just a meme that he's the villain in every Japanese game...
Other urls found in this thread:
but he's based in Nioh
>Nobunaga
>Sekiro
You're retarded, that's what's up.
He was, is and will continue to be based, user. Now and forever.
Isshin is clearly based on him.
Is he Japanese Hitler?
Retarded thread for retarded questions. What’s up with that?
He was a revolutionary with ideas that were seen as crazy. The fact that he failed makes it easier to cement him as a villain, had he succeeded it would be a different story.
only if you consider any japanese conqueror in any japanese game to be based on him
Nobunaga was sarcastically joking one time that he was The Demon king (A title belonging to Mara basically Buddhist Satan) and retards spread misinformation so people took it seriously.
Also an encounter with buddhist monks on Mt.Hyji where he killed alot of them including women and children because they wouldn't shut the fuck up and we're being asses during a period where there was chaotic turmoil in Japan.
Also he's was a Warlord for Christ sake. Not exactly hard to get an evil rep.
dude hat a pet Jesuit. of course he was evil for letting those asshats into the country.
I thought he was pretty cool in Rance.
>retards spread
You mean Tokugawa
>tfw you kill a filthy Westaboo and his boytoy and give the slave he freed back to the people that enslaved him
Isshin was just one warlord dedicated to one region. Nobunaga practically conquered Japan.
BASED retard
Isshin was based on him, and you seem to be in denial.
It's less that Japs think that he's evil and moreso that he's pretty much Japan's equivalent to Chuck Norris jokes and shitposting.
Good thing other japs collectively dabbed on christkikes and killed them.
You're retarded. The events in Sekiro take years after Nobunaga's death, when Tokugawa is in power.
Important historical figure who had a reputation as a ruthless warlord during a time before Japan was unified and thus in a constant state of war.
>was a huge fan of foreign culture
>almost won
many reasons
Yes. He had hundreds of religious figures burned to death.
who were """"neutral"""" yet didn't act it. They got what they deserved by picking a fight
>people who weren't villains in history yet get portrayed as them in media
Tell me about it
He's one of the coolest dudes in history unless you see him as evil.
Isshin wasn't a bad guy, he just wanted a good fight
If Isshin were based on him, the Senpou Temple would be on fire.
If anything, Isshin is based on Date Masamune
>both come from northern Japan
>both have lost an eye
>kill father and brother
>be christian
>hate japan and loves euro shit instead
>is popular in media
how does this chad get away with it?
The buddhist sects literally employed private armies, retardo
>implying that Nobunaga was a bad guy
fuck off b*ddhist
Nobunaga is culturally identified as an evil monster because he compromised his honor in order to to claim a large swath of territory and set up what would be the foundations for a unified Japanese government.
Cao Cao is similarly hated because he was an unapologetic authoritarian. While you had folks like Liu Bei posturing about goodness, virtue, honor, protecting the emperor and all this Cao Cao just straight up wanted power and he got it. Similar to Nobunaga he laid the ground work for a unified chinese empire. Well, for a little while at least.
how does the banner always know?
>armed peasant troops with rifles that btfo samurai, spitting in the face of japanese tradition
>made a giant black dude one of his retainers and would give the wives of defeated, lesser warlords to him
>same black dude would still fight in Nobunagas name after his death
>stole all of japans facial hair energy to grow his pimp ass mustache
My genuine theory is people like him because his name is awesome.
NOBUNAGA.
It's fun to say.
Cowabunga!
I like him because he was ambitious, rewarded merit, and generally didn't let himself be constrained by tradition to pursue his goals
He's pretty much japanese Tsao Tsao
Hideyoshi > Ieyasu > Nobunaga > Masamune
>would give the wives of defeated lesser warlords to a giant black dude
Truly ahead of his time.
>He's pretty much japanese Tsao Tsao
I mean...Nobunaga was a fan of Cao Cao in real life (to the point everyone who knew about 3K tended to compare the two even back there)
>made a giant black dude one of his retainers and would give the wives of defeated, lesser warlords to him
Is this what cuckbrain looks like?
nobunaga was pretty loyal to his one wife, and his fuckboy, he didn't need any other lovers
>defeat other warlord
>his possessions are now yours
>share the spoils with your retainers to foster good faith and loyalty
>c-c-c-cuckbrain
Based retard
Wow
Is that why Mitsuhide bitched out on him?
>hideyoshi at the top
>unified all of japan but lel let's invade fucking korea and fail twice and fuck it over for myself and my heir
Nah
Post sekino shots
This is your Nobbu for tonight.
Lol no, Isshin assembled the 5 armies late in the dynastic time period, to say Nobunaga was already dead by then is flat out wrong. Sprinkle in the fact that Tokugawa, we have records of him requesting a katana be made for an "upcoming fierce battle" as he put it, and you start to see the full picture emerge. I'm sure now that I've explained it clearly, you'll have to agree. If you wanna know anything else, just ask me.
Hi, my name is Nobu! I kinda look like a Jew!
Nah they deserved it. They were marauding cunts who killed and raped nearby villages and then ran back to their temple and claimed sanctuary. Everyone was afraid of them because they were supposedly religious, but Nobunaga saw through that scam and burned the entire mountain. Based Nobunaga cremating the charlatans.
>I'm sure now that I've explained it clearly, you'll have to agree.
No?
>Nobunaga was a fan of Cao Cao in real life
Wait really?
I dunno, in Chinese history didn't Cao Cao succeed but he's portrayed as the villain in Romance of the Three Kingdoms because he was ruthless and easy to portray as the villain, and also made a nice foil for some of the other rulers like the plucky kid Liu Bei. Yeah Romance of the Three Kingdoms takes a lot of historical liberties but its popularity means its what a lot of stuff about that period of Chinese history is influenced by.
I was just fibbing. I don't know what I'm talking about, i just wrote jibberish
>tfw nobunaga hairline
Wait, what? Monks never did any of that shit. They would never do that.
N-Nabunaga, is that you?
They dindu nuffin, they just good monks tryin to spread the word of God with a spear. Religious folks are always paragons of virtue and never hypocrites.
maybe, we'll never know.
He was a good guy in the Inazuma Eleven game where you travel through time
not really. Sima Yi cucked cao cao's family and created the jin dynasty.
dude just shave it all off
your baldness is happening at a slow and steady rate
you have only noticed it now but everyone has noticed it for years
it is only going to look worse and worse and worse
even if you look terrible bald it still looks better than balding and trying to hide it or deal with it
>"its not that bad yet!"
>"if i comb my hair just right or let it grow out i can sorta hide it!"
>"people havent really noticed!"
you are deluding yourself
the more you reject it and try to save it the worse you look
What's even more funny is that the clan Issin rules over historically is only known for jobbing to Date
More like forced/bound to fight sekiro since that dumbass sacrificed himself with the blade to do so
I’m not even a Norwood 2 yet though. I’ll start shaving it when I hit 2 because that’s the point of either shaving it all off or taking tranny drugs to “fix your hair” that also make your dick limp and i’d rather prefer the former.
Fuck you.
Christian Samurai were basted as fuck.
in what fake history? They've been around since the 1600s
blame the toyotomi
Based. Someone post that torture that he used against people. The well one.
He looks like Japanese Stalin.
Portrait is of unknown and suspicious origin.
May well have simply been a cosplayer.
who did it better ? nobunaga or cao cao ?
Napoleon
Holy crap
Lmao monkey apologists go home
They literally did, took over entire region and were greatly opposed to samurai rule.
That then collapsed in around ten years because his great grandson was a literal drooling retard (a recurring problem with jin emperors, seems all intelligence was given to Sima Yi and his sons) and because the first jin emperor gave all his relatives personal armies and more or less made them autonomous rulers of their own fiefs. The simas were evil usurpers of the rightful dynasty and plunged china into three centuries of civil war.
>The simas were evil usurpers of the rightful dynasty and plunged china into three centuries of civil war.
Usurping the throne can't be evil under Confucianism. If your rule was so weak and ineffectual as to be usurped, then clearly you had already lost the favor of Heaven.
Yeah OP's painting was done by a Jesuit Painter who never met Nobunaga. The real Nobunaga had a thin pencil moustache and a big jackie chan nose
Mitsuhide got butthurt over being dissed for arranging a bad dinner service and being smacked around a few times for screw-ups, but it's not like it was exclusive toward him. One story is that his mother died in a hostage situation, but that only began to be said ages after he died.
>how does this chad get away with it?
Eyepatch + crazy helmet make him look cool.
>>made a giant black dude one of his retainers and would give the wives of defeated, lesser warlords to him
>>same black dude would still fight in Nobunagas name after his death
Gonna need a source on that m8
Records on Yasuke are scarce and most of them say he ollied outie with some fellow missionaries soon after shit got heated
It can't be helped.
Kek
It's weird because he didn't exactly achieve a lot either. By the time he started conquering shit, the Sengoku period was ending and he had to submit to Hideyoshi and then Ieyasu. I guess he's also popular because he makes a good rival to Sanada Yukimura at Osaka.
>Ieyasu above anyone, ever
The guy was a fat cunt that got through life by sucking everyone else's dick and then opportunistically backstabbing his way to the top.
>It's weird because he didn't exactly achieve a lot either.
That's part of the appeal.
He was finna boutta completely revolutionize nippon but his ambitions were cut out from under him just when it seemed like he could do it.
Everyone loves that kind of romantic tragedy.
>dude just shave it all off
>source: dude trust me
Most people who hear about Yasuke thinks he was some noble nigga samurai, and not just some monkey Nobunaga made a weapon bearer as a joke.
There's only two battles where he's recorded to have been present in, but his role isn't mentioned in the one where they actually won.
I do hear he was made his boytoy though despite being 6'2", but dont tell black wewuzzers because I don't have a reliable source.
Extremely unlikely.
The women would often commit suicide before the soldiers even reached them when defeat was imminent.
The few who didn't would just sold as slaves or killed, because rape isn't the buddhist way and can award you several thousand years in whatever hell it is you're sent to.
Slavery was more likely because war isn't cheap.
Additionally, it would be bad PR for their lord who wouldn't be associated with sinners.
What age were you when you hit 1?
>Drifters S2 never ever
Should have taken his medicine
Been playing and loving Samurai Shodown, what are some good games where I can be a samurai or ronin?
Way of the Samurai
Sword of the Samurai
Yakuza Isshin!
Afro Samurai
>26 and still at 0, maybe 0.5
i gave up on a beard though so there's that
>Afro Samurai
Isn't that notoriously bad? Tbe game at least, have only seen some scenes of the anime but it seemed pretty cool.
In Sekero this guy is last boss.
actual good games:
onimusha 1-4
nioh
blood will tell
It is bad but the goofy setting and discount MGR Revengeance gameplay are fun for an afternoon.
Afro Samurai 1 is okay.
Afro Samurai 2 is notoriously bad.
Anyone here play this? Always been an oddball game I'm interested in.
Isshin obviously wanted to fight Sekiro. The guy loves fighting, it's the entire reason he started the war.
> because rape isn't the buddhist way and can award you several thousand years in whatever hell it is you're sent to.
Didn't stop them from countless violent, greedy wars.
No he wasn't
His reforms almost moved peasants from poverty allowing them to sell some rice for a hard cash.
He made monks do the job outside of collecting tonnes of money and actually teach peasant children how to write and also use temple for medical assistance.
All his bad reputation is from burning zealous monks of a very radical buddhist sect.
The top of those monks were the richest shits in the country with hundred of thousands slaves in the fields.
At first nobunaga tried to negotiate with them in terms: you do your thing i do mine we don't need to talk to each other.
But than things were escalating since the monks were starting to get involved into the politics and wars(selling mercenaries). After some time the situation has went dire. The ikko-ikki sect tried to ambush nobunaga, even shot at him and marshalled all the hundred of thousands of the peasants.
So, nobunaga has spent a decade quelling that shit. And he tried everything: bribes negotiation even just admitting defeat and demarcate the zone of the influence.
But the corrupt monks wanted gold and revenue from the peasants.
Yeah, the peasants were dying by thousands. You may tell that nobunaga would not care about the peasants, but those are central to the economy and he maybe didn't care about them as humans beings but he would definitely care about the plummeting taxation of the region.
Eventually nobunaga's defiance to the emperor of japan is what mostly was the cause of the mitsuhide's plot. In the past every warlord no matter of his status was still very submissive to the mikado, even though at that time of sengoku emperors were split in 2 houses.
But not nobunaga, not only he refused to "play" with the emperor's etiquette he straight ignored him. Plus to that after all that buddhist shit which nobunaga ate he was pratically forcing christians to preach in order to wrestle the peasant minds from buddhists.
>rape didn't happen because their religion forbade it
some people believe this stuff
His Nioh version is still my favorite. Everything about him in that game was absolute kino.
Peasant girls don't count
He often smacked around Mitsuhide and other generals as well. Nobunaga supposedly had a very bad temper and would often humiliate certain generals under him.
Or is Hitler German Nobunaga?
this and rising zan are fun as fuck
>Nobunaga practically conquered Japan.
uh, no?
That's nothing.
Mitsuhide's betrayal have something to do with either of him losing the ancestral lands when nobunaga made him daimyo OF A 3 FUCKING provinces instead, or with the emperor conspiracy.
>Nobunaga keeping a treaty
Only until he assembles an army and crushes you. The guy was choleric beyond reason sometimes. To be fair the Ikko boys were cunts too. Ieyasu had the better plan, use his own family temple monks to wipe em off.
He did
All of the relevant lands has fallen under him, the only thing in the mainland were Mori's lands which were on the verge of defeat and mori waited arrival of nobunaga to honourably concede to him.
The only other power which was not conquered yet was the kanto region with the hojo, but those lands were a backwater shit who would fall to tokugawas or some other oda's vassal.
But it's always nobunaga who gets betrayed, even his brother betrayed him FUCKING twice.
Even Katsuie Shibata which served him for 20 years after he was forgiven for a BETRAYAL, had abandoned the oda straight away.
>Nobunaga practically conquered Japan
This dude saying No is right and re-unified would be the better term. Nobunaga didn't secure the Western Daimyos and still had issues with Hojo, Date and Usuegi in the east with Tokugawa being the major reason why Nubonaga had a great deal of success. He was only able to take Takeda lands when Shingen died and Katsoyuri taking over and being a dumbfuck (LOL charge cavalry repeatedly into matchlock troops screened by spear wall).
Sengoku era was all petty kingdoms were lords give lip service to the emperor but literally were the absolute rule of their land. Now imagine Nobunaga suddenly coming around and fucking shit up and attempting to unify Japan.
He's gonna ruffle some feathers and most of these lords aren't going to be happy since they would prefer not having to swear actual fealty to a statewide government who can enforce said laws.
If you're already in power then Nobunaga was bad news.
WASHI JA!
Katsuyori wasn't dumb, retard. Don't judge him by the popular fiction.
Katsuyori was a seasonal general which had success in a siege warfare, and even took a castle which his father failed to take, without any casualties.
But katsuyori was a third son of shingen and son of a concubine,
Before the charged cavalry on the muskets the vassals among his blood kin was betraying him one by one to the oda.
And that cavalry was full of old guard of his father many of which were despising Katsuyori.
Takeda clan before the shingen ascension was a small shit which can't even field 2000 men, so after takeda's grand conquest they were forced to take-in their former enemies which they SUBJUGATED as their vassals. That shit fired back at katsuyori after shingen's death.
The kin despise him, the other half of the clan is not the clan at all but a scheming bunch which want to be free.
The fall of takeda was mirrored by oda a decade later. Oda too lost most of it's blood kin in the succession wars, and his old guard were dying one by one in the battles.
So at the time of his death the few loyal to the oda clan were only his children and small time samurai. All the warlords had own ambitions.
There was a legend that nobunaga has said that japan does not need two emperors.
The Ikko-Ikki monks were literally Japanese ISIS, I don't blame Nobunaga for what he did to them.
You just don't understand.
Monks for centuries were the richest people in the country. Not even emperors could wrestle them out. Kyoto is the capital now, because emperor just fucking FLED from monks of the first capital because they were bankrupting him with demands of "donations" and "charity".
But that shit never ended. The mob of sohei were beating and straight murdering merchants and peasants for "charity" donations.
And if officials tried to put that shit out the monks were taking the shrine on pilgrimage and blocking the residences of those officials with the shrines.
The shrines were sacred > try to remove sacred > offence to buddha and the temple > casus belli to attack and kill.
So, officials were practically under sieges.
The last ones who tried to break the monk shit before the nobunaga are the Taira clan, and their fate is the same as the nobunaga.
>charge cavalry into spear wall
not dumb
>charge cavalry into spear wall with matchlock
not dumb
>charge cavalry into spear wall until most of your best generals and officers are dead
not dumb
>charge cavalry into matchlock spearwall because it didn't work the 4th time
TACTICAL GENIUS
Thanks Katsu!
>REUNIFY
Japan was already united at a certain point, the Ashikaga shogunate losing control over the provinces because their appointed governors were either killed, usurped or decided to take over was one of the reasons but mostly because they lost military power and got sucked into decadence.
Why are historical Yea Forums threads so fun to read?
because history is always cool and watching loons with only half the facts come to blows to find the truth makes it even better
He should have used a rifle instead of a spear then. Nobunaga carries a famous sword but he is even more famous with rifles.
Cao Cao's reputatuon shit the bed because his son is a god damn retard that basically ruined his father lifetime's work.
>Cao Cao trying to overthrow the han empire
>Liu Bei trying to protect the throne.
Romance of the three kingdom certainly spread many bullshit information.
Not him, but rape could have been a relatively rare thing. People took their religion and afterlife seriously in the past.
two things
peasants weren't people
if animals hurt other animals the lords weren't bothered, unless it hurt business. therefore if the village was up for razing then raping was inconsequential
He uses guns!!!!!!!1!1
guys, this is your brain on the forced cumbrain spam.
remeber:
>pornhub = bad
>blacked = good
Does the west have a Nobunaga equivalent?
the amount of people that died because of nobunaga is astonishing. he's remembered as a cool dude for unifying japan, but he killed fucking everyone. women and children of the dead are gonna grow up and resent your name and clan. kill them. kill fucking everyone. kill their dog. burn their grandma's house to cinders.
honest abe
No in the west king is appointed by the god's will with the help of pope. Even the last retard will still rule the country if he has the king's blood.
So the western kings were fucking over peasants without any opposition. Don't forget oxford had violent clashes between church and students even in 16th century because of religion. And that's was the most educated place outside of italy in europe.
And religion wars at first were focused outside. And when the outside threat was quelled down than split was ideological and multi-nation wide. So everyone was killing each others indiscriminatorly
Napoleon Bonaparte in Europe
Everyone seems to kill everyone back then.
Bonapart made a strong france into a debt riddled shithole which lost half of it's colonies.
napoopan i guess
youtube.com
Because he lost at the end
Kato Kiyomasa also cut open the wombs of Christian pregnant women to take out their babies/fetus and kill them.
incredibly based
