Is he the hardest boss in all the Souls games?

Is he the hardest boss in all the Souls games?

Attached: medium.jpg (500x281, 22K)

No.

Attached: Midir_Dark_Souls_3.jpg (1280x720, 138K)

he's not bed of chaos

I had more trouble with friede

Probably not considering I beat him first try with two players summoned

My top three are ornstein and smough, friede and fume knight

>Dark Souls
Hardest: Ornstein & Smough
Hardest w/ DLC: Manus

>Dark Souls 2
Hardest: Fume Knight
Hardest w/ DLC: Smelter Demon

>Dark Souls 3
Hardest: Nameless King
Hardest w/ DLC: Midir

Nameless king ain't even the hardest of his game. This piece of shit right here is. Also, i'd say it's a tie between Laurence and Isshin Sword Saint.

Not even close

Midir would make NK blush due to it’s nearly unlimited life bar

Fume knight is dlc. I really don’t think there’s a single hard boss in dark souls 2’s base game.

Fpbp

Everyone has a different boss that is hard for them. There is no definitive hard Boss.

I believe Fume Knight has the highest player kill count though

>1
Bed of Chaos for being a fuckfest. Manus for straight difficulty

>2
Darklurker. The DLC bosses being hard is a meme.

>3
Sister Friede. It's not close.

That's because Fume Knight's hitboxes are fucking stupid

on ng? probably, though pontif sullyvan, real gundir and fume knight had more or less the same difficulty

on ng+7 the hardest are:
>5. demon prince
>4. darklurker
>3. 4 kings
>2. elana
>1. gael

midir is easy once you understood that you simply need to roll backward instead of forward and he'll never hit you

Attached: 374320_screenshots_20180417213506_1.jpg (1920x1080, 248K)

based

Attached: dark-souls-iii-5160x2160-artwork-4k-12188.png (5160x2160, 1.7M)

My first time dealing with Fume Knight was a huge learning experience. He wasn't as tough in subsequent playthroughs though.

Friede is probably the one that gives me the most consistent trouble at this point, or orphan still if we are allowed to include BB.

hardest boss is bed of chaos because every other boss in the series is just "stand in my blindspot and stab me in the taint until I die" or "dodge my telegraphed swings, poke my shins 1-2 times, repeat"

Friede's not even the hardest in her own DLC. It's a flashy and fun fight though.

he's not *huff* so *huff* bad *collapses out of breath*

I had the more trouble with his shitty bird than him. and also freide. 3 phases is just retarded

>He actually died to the Champion's Gravetender
This is definitely the craziest take I've ever seen

I didn't die in either, but Gravetender was marginally harder for me than Friede.

I think you have 2's base and DLC mixed up. Pretty good, though I think 4 kings is harder than O&S NG+ and beyond

I died a couple of times to the wolf. Just unlucky with the timing

it's definitely harder than the sif reskin, but she's one of the top 3 most epic bosses of the series

>I didn't die in either
Well yes, before I actually played the DLC I too did not die in either fight

>Bonus Bloodborne
Hardest: Ebreitas
Hardest w/ DLC: Orphan of Kos

Bosses that were difficult for me in each game (Except Dark Souls 1 because I haven't played it yet):

>Demon's Souls
Hardest one: Maneater
Flamelurker
Old King Allant

>Dark Souls 2
Hardest one: Elana, Squalid Queen
Ruin sentinels
Smelter Demon
The Rotten
Velstadt The Royal Aegis
Fume Knight

>Dark Souls 3
Hardest One: Aldritch, Devourer Of Gods
Crystal Sage
Abyss Watchers
Dragonslayer Armour
The Nameless King
Sister Friede

And here is the real answer

Hardest in Chalice Dungeons: Defiled Watchdog of the Old Lords

I vote for cursed Ebrietas if that counts

its only hard because youre handicapped in that fight

>Midir
>hard

Attached: 1561039419961.png (619x757, 126K)

>Lightning weapon
>Stay 2 steps away from his face at a walking pace
>Actually learning his bite combos
Also don't fucking summon. Midir is an intentional wall for summon-crutch shitters because his HP far outscales the ability for piss phantoms to not go full retard and stay alive.

Why did you skip DaS1

Worst for me (played in order and played blind):
>demons
Allant
Honorable mention: Garl Inland (he was red and was the parry king)

>dark 1:
Manus
Honorable mention: bed of chaos

>dark 2:
Fume
Dishonorable mention: aged smelter and 2 pet areas

>bloodborne:
Laurence
Honorable mention: cursed Amygdala

>dark 3:
Friede
Honorable mentions: nameless and midir

I started playing with Demon's Souls, then skipped Dark Souls 1 because it worked like shit on PC, I kept going with the games and then just got bored. Now even if I try playing Dark Souls 1 I simply get bored.

Holy Knight Hodrick

I struggled most with Vinheim and his stupid sexy voice

Depends on how you approach him. I figured he'd be like Sinh so I just kept whacking whatever part of him before realizing his head was a weak spot

His armor is 10/10

How can anyone have trouble with that thing? Just stay in front, dodge its attacks and hit its head.
It's not even a long fight if you get a critical hit.

eeeeh midir is less hard than a chore, just a massive health sponge
if we're including dlc's its gotta be manus for non artificial difficulty

I beat him on my third, do people actually find him hard?

i beat him on my first attempt, i died more times to the demon of song

>The hardest part of the boss fight is camera

I had a harder time with Friede

People were too conditioned by other big monster boss fights to always stay under.

Hand it Over. That Thing, Your Berserk reference

Attached: maxresdefault[1].jpg (1280x720, 135K)

dark lurker, royal rat authority or throne duo come to mind

there's bad hard stuff like the gargoyles or rat vangaurd as well

>Honorable mention: bed of chaos
Elaborate

He's pretty easy if you don't try to get greedy because he might fuck you up if you don't attack at right times. He's harder than most bosses even if he's easy tho.

Souls bosses are a joke compared to Bloodborne

I had no idea what to do after popping the orbs and died a lot looking for what to do next

>tfw beaten ebrietas in the first attempt but struggled a shitload with amygdala

Nightmare Frontier amygdala? You must be greedy

Why do people always say Laurence is hard? He is the 2nd easiest BB DLC boss

I was using LHB

no lmao Orphan of Kos is, but some retard is gonna tell me Bloodborne isnt a souls game

getting swiped into the holes and constantly missing the middle path for me

is sekiro a souls game?

Yeah Orphan was tough. I was over leveles when I faced him and it still took a while to beat him. Laurence was a one shot for me though. Idk how he's considered harder than Orphan

Nameless King was driving me mad until I noticed there was exactly one attack that was perfectly safe for me to strike back and have plenty of time to get to a safe position and said attack is easy to bait.

That isn't even the hardest boss in Dark Souls 3.

>Crystal Sage
>Abyss Watchers
>Dragonslayer Armour
How?

Not him but they fucked me up too. Crystal sage, i couldnt dodge his second phase attacks consistently. Abyss watchers, two fast retards attacking at once. Dragonslayer armour, delayed attacks so my timing was off a lot

Cast Pestilent Mist
Repeat

Freide is by far the hardest, the final form alone might be one of the hardest bosses honestly, and when you have to deal with it it a few estus down its even worse

Friede is easy. Beat her my third try...

>he’s not so hard, just always be in the right spot, never miss a roll, don’t get hit by any of his moves that will one shot you, and play perfectly for as long as it takes for him to die (10 minutes)

How the fuck did so many people have trouble with Friede? Can none of you dodge well at all?

She's playing Bloodborne while we're playing Dark Souls

Not when Laurence and Orphan exist.

Attached: VERY fast orphan yeow'ing at incredibly hihg speed.jpg (1920x1080, 281K)

I killed her in one try with a greatsword build but she was hell for me with a glass cannon pyro since I couldn't cast any pyros and she would kill me with one hit.

Her first two phases are cake walks then in phase 3 she turns into a combo spamming anime bitch with at least 2 aoe explosion attacks and a jumping lock on one at that. Not to mention that her invisibility cloak lasts longer and is even stronger now. There isn't much room to hit her and if the player character dies you have to start all over from phase 1. It's less hard, and more tedious.

Attached: 1452901951498.jpg (534x446, 219K)

>Kill every single boss in bloodborne in one try (Except Martyr Logarius that fucker killed me through a wall so it doesnt count anyway)
>Go back to DS1
>Die 30 times to Capra demon in my shieldless run

Attached: 1560935467195.gif (500x324, 2.49M)

The cure for Garl Vinland is to ironically Parry him instead.

I've found that the best solution to consistently kill capra is to abuse poise, Specifically enough to not get interrupted by doggos when rolling through his guarenteed double handed opener. Wolf ring is sufficient, Elite Knight even better

Very nice. Thanks for that.

IMO these bosses seem hard more because of their high damage and health than because of their mechanics. I think they both actually fight pretty fair (excluding NK's mount phase with the shit camera), compared to other bosses in the series with worse hit detection, harder reads, etc etc. I prefer to try imagining what it would be like to fight other bosses in the series scaled up to NK/Midir's levels of hp/damage.

I think an argument could be made that someone like pontiff is a harder boss because he is even more aggressive than NK, with seemingly endless stamina and much longer combos which are often harder to read/dodge reactively (vs predictively). I know he can be parried but I personally don't count that against a boss in terms of difficulty, although you're free to disagree.

Alternatively, some of the harder multi-enemy boss fights like O&S or Darklurker p2, tw/td, or lud & zallen are good candidates for hardest boss just because they demand so much more patience and timing than either NK or Midir.

Attached: 1392011971890.png (1472x1544, 259K)

>tight room that assfucks your camera
>TWO dogs and all the bullshit souls dogs bring
Capra is a cunt of a boss for all the wrong reasons

that's not Orphan of Kosm

and nothing from DaS2 counts

Phase one has so few fucking safe hits that it's a long fight no matter how good you play. Phase 3 has a lot more opportunities to hit her but if you fuck up you die and have to go back to phase one

FRC Pthumerian Descendant

Nothing comes even close.

Attached: Descendant frontal 3.png (696x667, 355K)

Oh yeah, fuck this cunt nigger. Literally made me stop playing for awhile.

I have no idea who this is and I platinumed BB

Manus was fucking piss easy and so were O&S

all you have to do is not get hit, like, i get that's easier said then done but if you don't go into panic mode while playing she's not hard. I literally had more trouble with Aldritch's no pattern, hadoken/arrow rain, teleportin ass then i did with some weaboo nun and her raven daddy.

Remember the cursed chalice where you had half your HP?
Imagine that against an ultra aggressive boss with pontiff tier stamina, both ranged and melee attacks, through walls projectiles and non stop aggressive moveset.

Also, strong contender just because of how large his hitboxes are. FRC chalices are the hardest content in the souls games by a fucking mile.

Attached: FRC_Undead_giant.png (723x1080, 664K)

fuck this so much

chalice dungeon boss

Gael is harder than him

Attached: 1392939097512.jpg (230x230, 8K)

That’s a fuckin shame

That sounds utterly broken and I am glad I did not come across this old man

Did someone say FRC bullshit bosses?

Attached: HBLB.webm (900x506, 2.9M)

For me, it's Loran Darkbeast.

Attached: 1492195650832.webm (900x506, 2.9M)

Only reason Midir is hard is because he has a massive health bar.
Same with Gael.
Seriously what were they thinking. What a big pile of shit.

Their healthbar is normal sized, everything else in the game dies too fast. You can barely see bosses phases because of that.

No it's not.
It's ridiculous. Nameless health bar was big but not stupidly massive.

Nameless health bar is small. You can barely see second phase before you put him down.

From clearly catered to idiots like you who don't want to learn any boss pattern and instead want to just tank hits and push through by chugging. Large health bars force you to learn the boss, literally get gud.

That’s an obscure feel ya got there.

Attached: 42A83BCC-A762-43A2-9DEC-614C53C57857.jpg (292x337, 8K)

Dragonslayer can be a challenge on NG

How is the boss itself any different?

You are a retarded nigger.
You can see Nameless second phase perfectly and all his attacks.
Kys my dude.

Nice argument. A joy to see idiots like you being called out.

Attached: 1461449445025.png (272x273, 293K)

Your opinion on bosses is ill-conceived unless you've gone FRC dungeon diving, it's easily the most unforgiving content From has ever made

Attached: bloodborne4.jpg (1920x1080, 375K)

Nice argument on your part too.
I like to see tryhard fags like you make a fool of themselves.

wouldnt this be really easy? Just provoke her into using a charge attack while you're in front of the hole, instant win.

both garbage tier, DaS3 babies will defend them though

No, but Bloodborne is

>abuse poise
poise is specifically in the game for that very reason, it isn't abuse

>there isnt any hard boss for me really, in any souls game i beat them in one try

Attached: 1557733768527.jpg (1273x491, 103K)

Hi jerma

Friede is one of two bosses I summoned for, the first being Abyss Walkers. I just don't have the patience for going through 3 phases of bullshit.

Gael is easy as shit what

Manus is pretty easy man, I had more trouble with Artorias and Kalameet.

but gargoyles and rat vanguard aren't hard in DkS2. In fact the gargoyles fight is actually pretty fun.

Attached: Dork Sowells 2.jpg (700x508, 80K)

Not even the hardest boss in Ds3

Laurence gets horrific with NG cycles. NG I found Orphan much harder, but starting at NG+2 Laurence is an absolute nightmare while Orphan is still manageable

How the hell has no (one) mentioned Demon Prince yet?
>Gank squad into OHKO HP sponge
Literally the worst.

Can't say for certain whos the hardest of them all but Sword Saint Isshin is the most recent boss to really fuck me up. I managed to beat every boss in Sekiro within 1 to 4 tries but that old fuck took me multiple hours. Saddest part is a lot of my deaths were to the first phase with Genichiro

Am I the only who finds Cursed Loran Darkbeast to be the hardest? I always fight him with stacked Lightning Defence even.

Attached: henryks_hunter_garb.jpg (250x251, 14K)

jeez what a bunch of retards. old king doran is 100 times any of these bosses posted. like seriously, did any of you even stop to consider which one is really harder. and ofc, without cheeseing to make it easy.

The deceptive lag on his moves as well as having to kill the King of Storms just to get back to him made this fight feel really cheap.

hardest boss in souldsborne? ornstein and smough desu because its a gank, but one made correctly

Isshin is my favourite FS boss of all time. such an engaging fight that I almost always lose sense of myself while playing it. It's kind of like when you drive fast, and you focus on everything around you, in front of you and ahead that you simply forget to contemplate your own existence.

>He is the 2nd easiest BB DLC boss
You can go fuck yourself.

Attached: Party Well.jpg (1920x1080, 199K)

I farm sunlight medals at nameless. I've beaten him literally hundreds of times. He's really not that difficult; its just that his timing is different than everything else in the game. He fights more like a bloodborne boss, actually.

More on topic, Defiled Doggo gave me the most trouble.

this was just straight up bullshit

Attached: 1564453595550.jpg (1024x576, 52K)

t. butthurt tranny

>nameless king
>hard
>oh god this swordspear is so heavy, stay there while I wind the swing up please, oh man I'm so out of breath
>hard
Is this a meme like when people pretend that pinwheel is hard just for laughs? You have to kill harder bosses just to GET TO nameless king.

as for midir literally just stun and crit, you should know at that point that the weak point of dragons is the face

Orphan is probably the most difficult boss I've faced in the entire series.
Only SS Isshin has come close to its difficulty.

Attached: orphan_of_kos_by_menaslg_dcqruc5-fullview.jpg (1600x905, 280K)

BB was unironically only hard because you had to play it at 10fps

Not for me. However it was kind of like this
>Use Crow Quills
>Fucking hard so all holy hell
>Use OWCS
>Kick his shit in.
I imagine any weapon with big sweeping attacks does pretty well against him.

>be phantom
>pestilent mercury him
>dead in 3 seconds
your welcome host

SHUT UP
obviously kosm's orphan is, literally only contrarians (i.e. you Yea Forums idiots) will disagree. Orphan of Kosm took me AGES, compared to every other boss, and I have beaten EVERY single boss on my own (except for demon's souls, but i bet most people havent played that and i assume the bosses are easier).

Attached: ooooook - Copy.png (993x654, 72K)

she doesn't fall in the whole. So are fighting her on a racetrack where you have less room to dodge.

that's not really true though, pcück

>Kos parasite

Midir honestly isn't that great of a fight. You see he's designed mainly around the player always staying a certain distance in nfront of him. Any deviation from this position causes him to use one of his several annoying moves, such as the fire breath sweep. He spams those moves like a bitch until you stay in his favorable zone. Here, he'll use his more "fair" moves and also give you more openings to hit him.
People who don't figure this out have to deal with his annoying AI which leads to his fame for being hard as fuck.

All of this could have been avoided, if From thought of better ways to keep big fucking monster fights good. Size is an important factor to a boss fight and the larger the boss the harder it is to make it a good fight.

>when he move cancels himself and does a different attack
literally impossible solo

Attached: 1560128818500.jpg (671x708, 117K)

Reminds me of when I learned how to attack around DSA's shield. That was probably the most kindo moment in souls for me for whatever reason.

I'm sure if you go back to DeS you can beat them all by yourself. The only one that's really a bitch are the Gargoyles and the summon'd one if you're online

online looks fun.

Demon Prince is a good fight, not too hard and very well executed.

i feel all DSborne bosses vary wildly from player to player. I struggle a TON with the demon bros and prince, while when i try to vent about them, almost no one empathizes with me. Whilst when others complain about, for example, twin princes, nameless king, or maybe others, I didn't struggle as much. Its totally variable.

orphan on an arc build is pretty painful.

he is the only boss that can use knee-jerk attacks.
It makes him pretty fun desu

Same.
Amen.

cringe

This is one of the bosses I beat in first try actually. These lists are always interesting because I always seem to struggle with bosses people consider to be much easier. I beat Ornstein and smug 1st try in 1 but it took me like 20 attempts to kill four kings because I played too defensively.

Attached: SotFS_Raime.jpg (1428x820, 1.87M)

What is best Dragon boss?

Attached: Fire_Dragon_Boss.jpg (800x500, 168K)

Other than that tight as fuck explosion, those tentacles feel more like pool noodles than anything that does damage even with a full on arcane build

>ds3

Seeing yet another attempt at the Artorias archetype was painful to see, it was so predictable that I thought they had to subvert it, but no, let's just do Artorias again for the final boss.
God DS3 was a depression slog to play through.

Literally not even top 5 in his own game. Friede, Furry Gravekeeper, Sulyvahn, Gael, Midir, Twin Demons and Dancer are all harder.

No, but Isshin with 4 phases is the hardest. Fuck him.

Attached: Sekiro.png (318x392, 150K)

Not even close.
>Midir
>Gael
>Fume Knight
>Sir Allone
>Laurence
>Ludwig
>Orphan
>Guardian Ape
>Saint Isshin
>Fire Isshin
>Demon of Hatred
>Owl + Owl father
These are all harder.

How much harder is this than the cursed chalice? The bosses there fucked me pretty hard.

>Ape
>Hard

>Ape
>Not Hard

If you know his moveset he's easy. I tried him a few times and then beat 2ape first try.

Wow you just explained every boss. I guess no boss is hard because once you know their movesets they're easy.

>tfw co-oped these two so much that NK barely gets a hit in and Midir can not for the life of him touch me
>still having a great time helping scrubs out

Attached: daves.jpg (500x293, 104K)

i beat nameless in under 20 tries, friede took me over 60. i was using str 2 handers, bk greataxe iirc, after vordts hammer

Honestly feel like King Allant, Penetrator and Flamelurker are harder than all the Souls bosses if you don't farm for upgrades material or cheese the game with dupes.

Moves can be difficult to respond to, which isn't the case for ape, except poo. If you get to phase 2 there is nothing that is really dangerous, everything can be parried easily and he only has sweep moves, no stabs. Scream just requires you to leg it, he can't parry so all hits bring you closer to victory, and he has a move with 2 second windup that lets you get in 1.5 floating passages if you parry it.

O&S were eeasy but manus did take me a long time. Hardest for me was Kalameet but only because i completely forgot to even try him until NG+4 and by then he had a billion health..

Smelter demon was kinda hard but i had mor trouble with that other guy i cant remember where from a DLC too where halfway through the fight his sword would become a shadowsword and like 5 meters long.

As for DS3 i recently started and only killed a couple f bosses so far dso i don't know. Same with BB.

DS2 is on sale. Is it worth it for a diehard fan of DS1 and 3?

Where is it on sale? I'm looking at steam and seeing no discount.

He's the one i died most to so yes. 50+ times. 2nd position goes to Father Gascoigne with aroung 35 deaths.

Nah, he goes into a loop spamming his easily dodged shockwaves if you maintain max casting range, if you go too far he'll do the fancy charge thing.

No Yhorm is.
>30 minute fight
>If you make one mistake have to redo it all over again.
Spent 6 hours on this one.

Attached: Yhorm_the_Giant.png (1920x1080, 2.58M)

Kalameet is the only boss in the entire series that I didn't beat

Been a while since I played BB, is father gascoigne the hunter guy you fight early on who turns into a werewolf and goes berserk part way through the fight?

nice bait

Why bait? My weapon was at like +5 at that point, took 30 mins.

Yes. You need to not use backstep in that fight or its very hard. So usage of a guide is mandatory.

Walk to the left, hit the head when it comes down. Literally the easiest boss.

u can three shot him

Attached: 1557386509409.jpg (540x581, 63K)

Really? I didn't use a guide and he was no trouble at all for me. I had trouble with other bosses though, blood starved beast gave me hassle for a wee while

this mother fucker

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 169K)

2nd tried bsb. I guess you cheese gascoigne in that case. He teaches you to get behind beasts.

As a pyro who simply demolished the main game bosses without any issues and friede that was the first challenging fight due to their fire resistance.

He can be cheesed easily with a bow even with an sl24 +2 character. Get fucking gud.

This, simply for the fact that his fight takes way too fucking long
Even as an experienced souls player I always end up getting way too impatient with this boss

Ps4.

Yes. Even at its worst, it's just more Souls-style gameplay. There's a lot of content in it, and even though it's not always great they try a lot of new and weird ideas unlike any of their games. I think every fan should play it if they have the time and funds.

I can do every group fight in ds2 but garg's always just overwhelm me.

this
the bird is an absolute goddamn nightmare if you aren't ranged, it's the most frustrating aspect of a bossfight in souls games which is terrible camera and hitboxes
nameless king isn't necessarily a joke, but i would not call him hard

gascoigne is not hard and you dont need a guide to beat him. stop with your nonsense

Gascoigne didn't teach you to get behind beasts, he teaches you the parry mechanic. They intentionally gave his beast form some of the widest and easiest parry windows of any boss in the game precisely for this reason.

>93% win rate
fucking legendary

Unironically the hardest boss for me was living failures in bloodborne because they were so fucking boring I'd just stop paying attention and die.

bullshit faggots. its extremely hard to beat that boss unless you look up a guide. Just backstepping will fuck you. And if you decide to take on the beast from the front then get ready to die 50 times.

I really don't understand Ludwig being hard.

Ludwig being the easiest right?

Close call between Kalameet and Midir.

I'm not counting Sinh because sometimes he just keeps flying around.

I've beaten him, so no.

Attached: you've been gnomed.jpg (300x293, 21K)

wow so hard

but difficulty is relative you absolute pleb. Even an easy game can have difficult parts relative to the rest of its content. OP didn't ask "Is this boss hard" he asked "is this boss the hardest in the context of souls games"

Someone needed to call you out for being a little bitch for summoning for AW

kys

I summoned for pretty much every souls boss I could because coop is part of the appeal to me.

I completed sekiro without much trouble and loved it. Ishin took me some 10 tries though.
