You must have a beat of a PC or you just played some well-emulated games. It objectively has problems in a huge amount of games that require hacks to work around.
Most of this is not the fault of the dev, it's because the PS2 is a weird fucking console when you look at the hardware.

I have a huge library of ps2 roms. I havent tried every game yet but I haven't had a single issue with the 20 plus games I've played on it so far. I don't get it either.

Its almost perfect at this point, use the dev build with all of the deinterlacing cheats, the only issue is the your jet has a black outline around it.
