Psi beetles can be dealt with at any level technically. The problem is they will fuck you up as a group, even higher lvls. If you can single out one, and fight him up close, they can't cast and their melee hits suck.
That being said I don't recommend you go fight them at lvl 1.
I found a goliath spawn and I want it to drop a shell. How is the drop determined? Can I reload the save from before I entered the room?

They seem great, even if just a dip. You can find a double-barrel shotgun in the expansion that instakills damn near everything but takes ages to reload so it's a nice secondary

I'm starting to think that all melee builds are better off going the mobile route rather than heavy armor route. Except maybe sledgehammer. You can just kite every thing with fancy-foot and sprint.
Not sure but I'd assume so since I'm complimenting my SMG set with them perkless, partially because I never liked the dual SMG swapping autism, and partially because the alpha on a double-barrel is nuts.
To top it off I've run them a little bit as a main and they're pretty strong on their own with great perks. Only issue is early on before you get better access to specialized rounds the damage threshold will fuck you

not even him but i've done a 0TM/35MT/45PK psi monk before and electrokinesis/imprint will literally stun anything all the way to DC so long as they don't explicitly have huge electrical resistance, thats how i beat the shit out of the arke. same with cryostasis as long as they aren't immune to freezing. only TK punch gets resisted and you shouldn't be using that anyways.

Alright here's the plan: drop dex to 7 will to 3, max strength and maybe goto 10 con if you care about getting stunned for thick skull. Rippers for leather amour prancy dancy faggots.
Get rid of opportunist, replace it will recklessness, throw cheaps shots and critical power to the back of the build. Parry and ripose go 6->8. Expose weakness is unneccesary. Pick up taste for blood and vile weaponry and stack the shit out of serrated blades. Pick up juggernaught and delay armour sloping for it. Pick up spear throw for a free snipe.
Take the pill pre depot A or pre scrapper questline so you go minesweeping if your not gonna get traps for quick tinkering, If you do go traps pick it up for rail crossing. Honestly you can get it a the start games not that hard and baiting people with range has it's uses.

I went 3 con with my psi build here would only recommend if you had psi to back it up, but there are other solutions like infused pig leather armor, sturdy vests, pig leather tabi. dunno if you'd be able to get past depot A without the versatility of psi

with dex and ripper/critical power, you go above and beyond that bonus while also increasing your overall chance to actually land a crit

Yeah, if your mercantile is high enough (exact amount depends on each individual merchant) they'll have higher quality components and have larger inventories than normal. Nothing insane like brand new weapons/components/etc. though.

Like in the Foundry you need to run away from a yandere, go on a scouting mission that ends peacefully and do the Beast quest line where the only huge battle happens in the end after you research how the defeat the thing.

How does Fishing work? Are there only certain spots where you can catch fish? I tried it and got like 4 fish in a row in some water pool, but then the rod stopped jumping. Tried different squares in the same zone and got nothing.
The ironheads completely flatten me so I decided to go explore all the other shit I didn't before, but most enemies barring death stalkers can't even scratch me in my metal armor.

This game is the kino of open world desu. There is a clear progress path but you can go anywhere you want and you can still beat bad odds even if you aren't prepared for it. A lot things in the game help towards that, specially throwing/trap skills
Yeah, not all spots have fish. If the rod doesn't start jumping after 20~30 seconds it never will. The ones that have fish can run out, but they'll respawn eventually.
Flashbang into net seems to work for me sometimes since the net lets me negate all their evasion and just shotgun them in the face with barrel stare. Also molotovs, obviously. Never enough of those.

You can fish anywher with water, it's entirely RNG whether you get a bite or not. Certain fish can only be found in certain areas however and there are common, rare, and ultra rare fish. In some places you can even catch items, like Camp Hathor. The higher your Dexterity the more likely you'll be to actually catch fish when they bite.

Plant the rod. When it starts bobbing, click to attempt to catch a fish. Re-plant the rod again afterwards.

you will be missing out on easy ways to bypass difficult enemies, or to access locked rooms you don't meet the requirements to enter, or they may be blocked by rubble outright. plot items are not behind locked doors, and with time magix you won't be in too big of trouble because you will probably be able to take on whatever you're trying to bypass anyways.

Depot A is all about learning to use everything the game gives you. You don't need Traps or Throwing to use bear traps or grenades for example. You may even notice there are things that explode littering the Old Junkyard as well.

i would really recommend to finish the game in hard first, the last area of the game can become pretty bullshit on dominating and you are much better off knowing what to expect

You're not supposed to go through to that door on that underground facility, somewhere in that area, I think in a room full of muties lies a kie to the fenced door to zone full of mutants.
2 areas; either the 'middle' south edge of that area, inside a container, guarded by 2 or 3 muties and a dog, or the southeast (bottom corner) part of the map inside a locker, guarded by 6 muties and 2 dogs

alright lads im looking for some legit advice. i'm level 20 right now and machetes are really shaping up nicely but im at a really critical moment where i have 1 skill point left and the veteran feats to take after that and i was never sure which way i wanted to take it from here because it all sounded good
i could either A.) put the skill point in INT for weaponsmith and take increased WIL so i can actually get ripper
B.) put the skill point in AGI and take increased AGI so i can get blitz that i'll pop off when flurry's maxed for 2 more flurries a turn. however this would lock me out of using the katana.
C.) put the the skill point in INT for weaponsmith and take increased STR for decapitate. i do plan on using the katana if i take INT and even though i've heard decapitate in general isnt great, i'd probably hit 100% crit chance with it or very close to it.
D.) put the skill point in either INT or STR (so i can use tungsten) and just increase DEX, i'm on DOMINATING and with the nature of swords every little bit of chance to hit helps alot

I found it way easier to use the black eel entrance and trying to not go outside till the very end. Mutant junkies, dogs, and bots are way easier to fight than mutants and acid dogs. Can even skip all of it in the vents if you don't care about the oddities.

yeah, that totally is the case. shock bolts are my greatest ally, but psi crabs have high shock resist as well as heat resist. regular crabs just have the heat resist. poison bolts just bounce off them, so I'm thinking acid may be my best bet. wish rusting bolts would have an effect on critters as well.

its actually a very very strong ability for single target, you drop it, implosion a target and then telekinetic punch them. if you're not playing on dominating and you've got half decent gear/stats, that kills just about anything that doesnt have absurd DT/DR.

I just read where it says single target TK, but even when I try it with fist it doesn't seem to do anything. I wonder if it's because fist one shots them. I'll mess around with it more
the movement points it gives you are useful if you're a melee stealth character who either doesn't have stealth (very questionable decision) or wants to save it for later on in the fight. i'd never actually take it though.
I got a hybrid going on with a machete. maybe I'll grab my nuts, and do my best to bypass the deathstalkers on the way to hephaestus so I can get on with the protectorate already for the final reward. guess I can rush the crabs with my machete in the midst of a gas grenade before they manage to get out.

yeah. it is literally another entity casting another separate spell, if the target is dead from the first punch it wont do anything.
another fun note is that its REALLY good for psi monks, since the proxy replicates the telekinetic damage from every single punch you do.

the game speedup is general, the interloper speedup is personal, if your stealth is not high enough and to get past some enemies on dominating before getting detected you still need interloper

Telekinetic Proxy does 2 things:
Mirror telekinetic spells (Telekinetic Punch and Implosion), If you, for example, cast F I S T on some poor dude, and if that same dude is near the proxy range (You can see it's range by red zone when casting Proxy), the TK will mirror the FIST and make it strike twice.
With Proxy, you can mind punc someone -twice-, you just need to put the proxy near the dude is getting casted on. Same thing with Implosion.
Also, Proxy does damage if it moves through enemies, you can have a huge mob of enemies, or one long conga line of them, you can move the Proxy through them, and the Proxy will mechanically damage them all in a huge area
Be creative
you can sneak your way to the lower levels of the building. That's where the item you're looking for is. You can do this if you have either high stealth or 9 agility (I think)
