Buy new TV

>buy new TV
>Only has two HDMI ports
>Can't connect my N64 or PS2 to this new TV

Are component to HDMI cables any good or do I just need to buy an old TV? All these cables look like odd chink shit.

I bought one of these with my old vizio and it ran and looked like shit. I recently bought a samsung tv has av ports and looks pretty good. Assuming you dont want to go balls in and get a frameister. I'd suggest looking into this tv. Or you could always just emulate.

this

Most of these are shit, or nonfunctional.
I would highly recommend something more... extreme, like an X-RGB-mini Framemeister.

That, or getting a mod for the console itself to output in a higher quality. GLHF finding one of those.

I pick a ghetto option of my Elgato HD as a sort of pass-through into HDMI. I don't notice too much delay.

Finally, make sure your TV itself is running in a sort of "Game Mode." Some TVs let you turn on a Game Mode to suppress a bunch of visual reprocessing in favor of a shorter latency.

N64 and PS2 will look like shit on a modern TV no matter what you do. I'd just keep a decent CRT around for them.

tfw crt with loads of input options is dying and the only other one I have just has composite

Get an Ossc or something similar they are the best way to play older consoles on modern displays with them being better than even CRT in some cases

Oh! And for PS2, consider finding one of those old CECHA01 PS3s. The ones that can play PS2 games via hardware emulation. Pretty good $200 bux. Might want one of those. I got mine for $50 bux but you don't need it if you're fine with rebuilding all your saves and ||don't possess a cheating device for PS2 and want to transfer unclean saves||.

There are still services that still repair old crt tv's might be your best option

Er, a PS2 to PS3 Memory Card Adapter is $50 bux. I need to learn to proofread.

Bob deinterlacing on an LCD causes eye cancer though. And you can't even plug in an N64 without modding the thing.

I don't recommend those. I got one of those a while back and even though I added new thermal paste and modded it to crank up the fan, it's still loud, it still runs hot and it still makes me paranoid. I'd just recommend getting a PS2 slim and a PS2 fat separately and hacking them.

>buying a tv
>not looking what are the connections behind the tv

That was the first thing I looked. I made sure my tv had 3 hdmi, a av, scart, composite, rgb pc, rs232, so i can fuck around with whatever i want

*PS3 slim and PS2 fat

Buy an hdmi splitter/hub. I have a Kinivo with remote

Yeah, I've heard horror stories about the first model PS3. But... after a good year of using it, I haven't run into any issues. Maybe I'm just lucky with the durability of my machines.

Those things are shit. They're cheap for a reason
The next step above them without breaking the bank is a DVD recorder.

There's a whole market for HDMI mods for a reason.

PS2 has a native Component cable that should do a 480p signal that could be converted without much trouble but blowing that up on a 4k or 1080p TV would definitely not look good.

A small cheap 720p TV from the store would look much better.

Just emulate it and use a crt filter bro

That's the "Broken basement TV" filter

I've had a Fat PS3 since 2007, and it still works.
I do know people whose Fat died just recently tho'.
