It's the reflection shader for Reshade which is ACTUAL raytracing, it's just limited to reflections that are on-screen but it's still raytracing.

There is no performance hit if you use the reflection shader. It also reflects every object that's onscreen unlike the SSR that's implemented in-game. If you use the GI shader your framerate says bye bye though.

Nothing to do with the shader being WIP, it's an inherent limitation of being screenspace only and will not get better because reshade can not get access to anything more. No amount of shader development will fix that.

I played both Watchdogs games, and I gotta say, they make me appreciate good animations in other games. Don't matter how pretty your game looks, with shitty animations, it is unironically SOULESS.

Also, it is not just those things you mentioned, in both games the animations are fucking horrible. NPCs move like robots, you have the literal same animation when you fall off a bike everytime, and so on. Bethesda games have better NPC animations. In years of work Ubisoft didn't get better on the in-game animation department, they actually got worse. The only games I played from them were AssCreed 1 and Watchdogs 1 and 2, and I don't remember AssCreed having animations so shitty, a game from more than 10 years ago.

rtx is a meme. the only things it can manage at a reasonable frame-rate look no better than previous lighting methods. a 2080ti can't run quake 2 fully raytraced ("fully" meaning one sample per pixel with a denoising algo, so just barely) 4k at 30 fps.
