THUG2 would be the perfect game to remake from the ground up, with some fine additions. It already had multiplayer, create a skater, custom parks. If only robomodo didn't exist to fuck this timeline up.

Why is it Nintendo of all people still doing games with map creator (excluding PC games)? I guess it really is easier to just ship a few half-baked maps for $14.99!
I preferred 3's maps more, though 4 is a close second best THPS

That reminds me, I saw andyTHPS the other day in TF2. Strangest thing. Thought I recognized the same so I googled it and sure as shit it was one of the guys who was good enough at the games that Neversoft hired 'em to playtest THUG.

4 is where they ditched the old career mode in favor of GTA style missions with dumb non-skating activities like tennis, skitching, gambling, and dodging monkey shit. Spine transfers and COMBO letters are the only notable improvement in 4, otherwise it marks the beginning of the series turning into trash like THUG2.

So tony never meeting bam is the "right/ideal" timeline?

Gta like missions? They’re basicallly just career mode goals spread out through the level so you don’t constantly have to stop gameplay every 2 minutes

A Disney skateboarding game. It runs on the THPS4 engine- very blatantly so, actually, as it uses shit tons of the same menu layouts and sound effects, the control scheme is identical (other than the babby easy-trick mode) and they didn't even bother editing some of the graphics like the balance meters and Special bar.

THUG 1 doesn't have classic mode.

I REMEMBER THIS FUCKING GAME.
I remember thinking it was broken because I had just started gaming. What was happening was, I’d go up to talk to a mission-giver and my character would just jump, I was thinking what the fuck! This went on for more sessions than id like to admit, and i eventually looked down at the controller and realised i was pressing the wrong goddamn button. never laughed at myself in anger before that.

It's not a carbon copy of how GTA works, but GTA III was big at the time and almost certainly influenced the more "open world" approach they went for with 4 and later games.

1 through project 8 is easily the most flawless videogame series of all time

THUG 1 is infinitely better

THUG 1 had a better story mode but THUG 2 is way better as a game, the levels are designed way fucking better. Berlin and Boston in particular are awesome levels, though I like Barcelona as well.

Completely disagree, most maps are a complete clusterfuck and lines aren't intuitive or fun to do at all. All the levels in THUG 2 feel cramped and don't seem to have a consistent feel to them

The maps in thug 1 are way better, especially maps like Manhattan.
