First Star Online 3 from Unfun Games

Ran Online didn't get any popular outside of Korea, but it had a unique setting and the atmosphere was pretty dope.

Attached: 7787240_orig.jpg (600x450, 52K)

Cabal Online

Was pretty fun, played it with my bros a lot, although we were young and couldn't understand english for shit.

I played a fun low effort browser mmo called Adventure Online
The servers closed despite the game having a small but loyal playerbase. The source code vanished along with the creator so some players decided to recreate the game but it never went anywhere
I'd post a picture but I'm range banned

StarGate Online

Attached: 009.jpg (806x625, 146K)

It was quite popular in Indonesia

Attached: ran200811251334000.jpg (1280x800, 856K)

This was like those grindy P2W MMOs that are all over phones these days, except it was 100% free and predated smart phones by years.

Attached: Inselkampf.png (239x211, 3K)

AQ Worlds
i had a lot of fun playing this browser MMO in 2008. i was 9 years old.

I miss latale, ghost x, rusty hearts, dragon nest, and dragon saga.

The good old days before microtransactions and cash items raped the game

Attached: lunia5.jpg (720x531, 119K)

Cabal online was pretty popular though.

These games, Trickster Online, Drift City, and Mabinogi.
Maximum comfy.

Attached: 1522929066286.jpg (240x240, 22K)

Whatever happened to Tales Runner?

Attached: Tales-Runner-10.jpg (800x600, 102K)

flyff and allods online. They are not really that obscure though.

Attached: ▄█▀ █▬█ █ ▀█▀.jpg (320x180, 16K)

Anyone played Rf online?

I miss Priston Tale so much. Even if it was a fucking mess of a game.

Attached: priston-tale-players-town.jpg (1920x1080, 492K)

Tantra Online

Attached: 3664566569_bb586b28bc_o.jpg (1000x559, 577K)

gonna keep posting this until I find someone else that played it

Attached: dims.jpg (425x281, 44K)

Pic related. Also played a bit of Zone 4 and La Tale when it was on OGPlanet.

Attached: AF73F901-E195-4861-85AD-000B5C049EF8.jpg (604x423, 80K)

Dungeons & Dragons Online.

And don't give me that "it's not obscure" shit, I have never once seen anyone on Yea Forums mention this game.

Attached: fantasy-mmo-games-dungeons-and-dragons-online-combat-screenshot[1].jpg (1920x1080, 571K)

I'm playing Astellia right now, pretty sure no one knows about this shit game. Basically Bless 2.0, but with mandatory loli pets and better client performance, also young race censorship because why the fuck not. Char creator is good though, not BDO good, but above average for sure, music is actually great too, but class selection is pretty much the bare minimum.

Attached: maxresdefault[1].jpg (1280x720, 251K)

I can't for the life of me remember what it was called, but I played it back in 2004 or 2005 and it was basically a free knock off of WoW made by Turks or Mongolians or some shit. It was trash but I remember playing it for a while all the same because my friend was.

4story?

Runes of Magic?

2Moons which is now known as Dekaron. I played it when I was like 10-12 and it was just insanely fun but frustrating because it took forever to level up and most areas were PVP so a high level player could just come and 1 shot you while you were questing.

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 211K)

Lost Saga went to shit
SHIIIT

Attached: furious_king_crimson_and_epitaph.png (1920x1080, 1.21M)

Lost saga

It went to shit after they started to add super rare gear in TC in ogplanet.

I played that, was cool at the time. I preferred 9dragons though.

DDO gets brought up pretty regularly. It has a lot of good examples of the right way to do things in an MMO (but a lot of bad examples too).

Pic related is NexusTK. It's 21 years old. It's still going, it's still damn special.

Attached: 20190727nagnangdefenders[1].png (700x350, 146K)

No to both of those. I really have no idea what it was and I've tried to remember many times in the past to no avail

Are there any good obscure mmos (or really any fun online multiplayer game for that matter) that are playable right now and not dead?

Zoomers out.
Shit, this thing got more depth than FF14 and it ran on windows 95

Attached: th[1].jpg (474x369, 39K)

That screenshot was taken last week, it's definitely still playable.

GUNZ THE DUEL

Attached: g.jpg (1280x720, 203K)

I did. RIP planet wars update.

The Fourth Coming

is Nostale really that obscure?
I remember playing it a lot when I was young and meeting a lot of people

Kind miss this game.

Attached: Combinaes.jpg (1280x896, 814K)

I liked the school setting. It was comfy.

not an mmo and not obscure

i miss it bros

fuck

Swordsman

I played it for 5 minutes then saw classes locked behind a paywall and noped right outta there.

Whatever happened to Revelation Online

The quest system there was pretty weird

Attached: 290800e078363c8f3f76d2dbcbd418bc.jpg (1600x900, 219K)

>company makes content
>you pay for it
Holy shit

DDO had the closest thing to a good business model MMOs will ever see.

It killed Blade & Soul and then itself in the process.

Black Prophecy.

It was advertised as the next EVE even though they were nothing like each other.

It was a horrendous grind with serious balancing issues, but my god it was beautiful and the pvp was so much fun. Sad it died so quickly.

Attached: Black-Prophecy.jpg (900x563, 137K)

>Nobody remembers Metin2

As opposed to whole MMOs locked behind paywalls?

Also, there isn't really a true paywall in DDO. The in-game store points needed to get access to things if you're not subscribed to the game can be earned through normal playing of the game with no upper limit. Only the first two expansion packs need to be purchased with money to get access to. The third can be purchased in the in-game store for points, and the new one will have the same treatment later this year.

my man

Attached: AlienAdoptionAgency.jpg (640x480, 40K)

>ywn be running raids on crux prime and trading in nimbus station again

it's truly not fair

They didn't wait for the bait and switch pay2win even a month, so it fucked the game really bad. So China has super strong shit to help you catch up, if you join like 2 years late to the party, so the items are okish in a sense, someone spends money and gets enough progression to play the latest content or such. But they released those catch up items on Global, when you couldn't even get those items... it was a massive shitshow. And then they have this fucking maps that give you like a random quests, but one of those quests can give you a stupid massive amount of gold, so anyone buying those stupid maps had like 50x more gold than someone who just played normally, I quit after that and have no idea how the fucking thing could still be alive after all that and whatever they came up with later. A shame because the game had an interesting progression system and raids were actually challenging.

>Runes of Magic
Copied so much shit from wow and runescape, but still felt like an Asian mmo
>Legend of Ares
Pretty bad Asian mmo but the combat was neat
>Rubies of Eventide
I don't know why I kept re-downloading this shit, the world just grabbed me. Still a shit MMO.

Attached: 27.jpg (819x827, 53K)

didn't play but looks comfy

I played that shit. Its was a mess, but fun.

Rappelz since nearly the beginning.
Lunia since beta.
That one game from Perfect World that had vampires since it opened as well.

Priston Tale

I think I played that with /jp/ a long time ago

Attached: 1552252590335.jpg (1920x1080, 367K)

oh shit wasn't this top down view, and weren't the graphics really similar to WoW? i remember this one.

my friend found a way to reset anyone's login based on the URL used during the reset request.

>no temporary chat text above people's heads
Is there a more sure sign that an MMO is terrible?

Attached: 62.jpg (639x755, 36K)

Voyage or some shir

i remember playing it and figuring out how useless shields were since some weapons had 100% shield penetration

Anyone else played ArchLord? That was a fun one
youtube.com/watch?v=nAiufwSyMPs

>with mandatory loli pets
What was the name of that other MMO with loli pets?

Attached: 1548394123022.jpg (1024x768, 191K)

I played that, but only logged in a few times, I think I was some female ranger with a bow. Never got far, but was fun the few hours I did spend in it

darkeden was so comfy.
that and silkroad online

Attached: Vampire_amrket.jpg (1024x768, 197K)

Aspereta, the first MMO I ever played and to date the only one I've ever enjoyed

Attached: aspereta8[1].jpg (640x480, 104K)

Granado Espada was fun

Attached: 1533753459821.jpg (1920x1080, 548K)

Gunbound Online, it was like that tank flash game.

Attached: gunbound.jpg (640x480, 69K)

I think Outspark folded.

Same, used to love RF but in EU people only played the moonlight cliff map and I eventually stopped caring.
Zone 4 was better if I'm being honest.

It had a similar look but the gameplay was more like Diablo. Randomly generated 3d dungeons with point and click gameplay and random loot.

The two that come to my mind are Metin2 and Allods Online, both pretty popular in the Turkish community although Metin2 was made in South Korea.

It had an amazing presentation and the concept of collecting playable versions of NPCs was cool but it was the most horrible grind ever conceived. Literally use the built in botting tool to park your team in a grind spot and go do something actually enjoyable with your time while the game runs in the background.

Attached: endless_online_image23.jpg (640x480, 222K)

I think I played that, wasn't the cleric class a loli too and you could see her nipples through her underwear?

Kal Online for me. I tried looking at the website years back and their official site triggered my antivirus

Its not fair

Attached: piss.png (400x400, 56K)

>but it was the most horrible grind ever conceived
Someone hasn't played Silkroad Online.

I'm playing it right now! dead game!

Attached: vco.png (1029x799, 1.34M)

Started playing SWL, its kinda cool but there are only 160 players on steam

Attached: 1541534252817.png (1920x1080, 2.36M)

The premisse of this game is cool, but the voyages take too long and it is too grindy IMO

PICTURE TO DRAW ATTENTION
Im searching for an old mmorpg which was inspired by Ragnarok Online I remember it had similar maps and sprites and was called '******* of *****'

Attached: hw.jpg (1280x720, 375K)

what the fuck is this? Uncharted waters?

what do you do in this game? anything with a nautical aesthetic interests me

Uncharted Waters Online, yes

>Uncharted waters
This game was the tits. Too bad it was Pay2Win to the max

i think you meant to reply to me lol

yeah, i havent slept for like 29 hours

Played that shit for years, it was a unique experience.
>Estonian in the picture
What the fuck, why did so many of us play this.

The Chronicles of Spellborn.

I was really young and i remember my computer could barely run it but it seemed really fun. I never made it really far. I wish i could go back and play.

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 110K)

it is a fucking chinese mmo, i suggest you don't even look into it... i'm playing but i will try to quit as soon i get burned by the retarded grind.

It is a sandbox, you can trade, do sea instances, do land instances or pvp... pure p2w , in gear you hit a wall around mid level gear wise, in the PvP servers to be competitive you HAVE to pay. I'm playing in a dead server so just PvE, the strongest guild runs everyone down in server events be it pve or pvp.

Re:Spite, on hiatus atm

Attached: respite.png (802x684, 309K)

This ones the biggest fucking crime. An amazing horror MMO with puzzles that actually need your brain.

but of course it failed because people cant be arsed to fucking figure out anything beyond PRESS GREEN BUTTON, GET LOOT LOL

Requiem Online aka Lineage 2 for edgelords

Attached: 289780_screenshots_2015-03-21_00001.jpg (1280x800, 179K)

Go to sleep user, you have to sleep to achieve Gnosis and fuck Sophia in front of Christ and the Demiurge.
Literally fuck the Demiurge's mother
yeah, some puzzles are cool but others are bullshit, like the morse code one. Still, it is a very good mmo

Attached: 1542571453041.png (1084x700, 1.12M)

played a lot, was playing Priest and it was awesome because you could AoE hunt...but i had to buy an expensive item to reset my points to go from full heals to AoE, too much effort so i ended up not playing anymore after 1 day of AoE insane exp.

Even though I've only played like one or two of the games mentioned in here, this thread is making me feel some serious nostalgia. I want to play an MMO and actually be able to enjoy it again and get immersed in its world.

Its shit combat didn't help either, despite the devs claiming that they fixed it. Also class streamlining.

I used to play that. Isn't it completely playable through a browser nowadays?

I dont know what are you talking about :)

Attached: 1HZiZ5r.jpg (1680x1050, 601K)

I don't remember anything about Savage Eden, but looking back at these old screens it looks generic AF..remember it was kinda fun tho...

Also, Wizardry Online was a fucking travesty my god

Attached: 1011[1].jpg (627x456, 118K)

Legends of Aria. Not that great. Think it comes out on steam soon.

They even lowered the exp from investigation missions... for no fucking reason, other than discourage players from doing them.

tree of savior

>That old browser game where you spent countless hours but cannot even remember the name of it
Pic unrelated. I literally cannot remember the name of the game

Attached: 28u79fk.jpg (1153x864, 106K)

Attached: angery.jpg (451x587, 50K)

that looks very comfy

I love the book, anime and the game but i don't have time for mmos.

Attached: Lodoss.jpg (1280x720, 283K)

Fuck yeah, I was trying to remember the name of this one. I still remember being so excited when I got my first rainbow item drop.

probably the 2nd most popular f2p mmo back then. had a lot of fun with it tho. I also still adore the gear and mounts from this game like god damn. I wish we had more sci-fi mmos like this

Attached: 29dbims.jpg (1024x713, 132K)

Secret of the Solstice?

Kingdom of Loathing?

I remember playing the beta for this and pvping in some asteroid field. Everyone was like level 5 or some garbage.

Attached: 1564436824048.jpg (3556x2816, 560K)

I played that too, mostly remember those clunky fight mechanics.

how is the game even related to Lodoss? I played it for about 2-3 hours as a priest and was incredibly dissapointed. I honestly was looking for just a mindless whack a mole, and it didn't feel worth investing time into, how far did you get into it?

1. DRIFT CITY ONLINE BITCHES

Attached: racing-mmo-games-drift-city-racing-screenshot.jpg (1024x768, 111K)

I tried it once, stopped at the tutorial because i was playing something else (EvE) and looking at the game i knew i had to put 100% of my time on research and trying to get people to answer my questions about the game.

never seen anyone in my life discuss this game out of it's forums

so many wasted hours of my teenage life

2. ACE ONLINE

Attached: EchelonBoss.png (1920x1080, 3.18M)

fucking tales of pirates

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 93K)

Project Torque was better

ahhhh some faggot from this board got me into this game, he would power level me, and then I had no gear, money or potions to kill anything around my level, so I would just spend all day idling waiting for that fucker to ask me if I wanted to be power leveled because I couldn't kill anything myself...

It was pretty popular in Russia. Not so popular as Lineage 2 or Ragnarok Online of course, but still, it had many players

i was grinding a holy strike priest, played until level 30 but i can't play mmos anymore so it was very short time playing. Fucking work man!

Spirit Tales was a great little MMO. It cured my addiction to paid MMOs, and I made a good bunch of friends. At least, until they merged the EN servers to the Chinese ones. All my data got cleared out, and I had to start fresh as a result. Then, it died entirely.

I wish it got a private server.

Attached: spirit-tales-rabbit-girl.jpg (1920x1080, 472K)

i'm a filthy br and playing shit mmos is in my dna, metin 2 was pretty popular here but never heard of it outside

Attached: metin 2.jpg (695x525, 206K)

Also, the combo system and mage's stunlock were pretty dope

Mythos online.
IMO had better potential than PoE.
Sadly, it died too soon.

Attached: 1234546546.jpg (1280x720, 182K)

DarkSpace was pretty fun. I remember playing a private server for it back in like '03 or '04. It was fairly dead by then, eve was just starting. I was only 14 and couldn't afford it.

Attached: darkspace-scifi-space-mmo-games-screenshot-5.jpg (1280x1024, 569K)

I miss the 7.6 days...

played this with a friend, too many paywalls to really enjoy it for long but the combat was fun

the way the map scrolled made me dizzy, I actually quit because of that, but mechanics were solid

2d sprite game called terraworld online or some shit

3. ENTROPIA UNIVERSE

Attached: 11.jpg (1920x1080, 971K)

Best mmo combat system to date.
Shame it got ruined by the fucking publisher, who was more interested in their free turd Runes of Magic.

Shit, I remember Runes of Magic. I actually remember enjoying it a lot even though I could tell it was a shitty clone of WoW.

Also if anyone can tell me that they've played Talisman Online or 9 Dragons Online I'll suck your dick. I don't want to feel alone.

Attached: TO_batwing lion_1.jpg (588x485, 118K)

It died because of an inferior game.

Shieeeet, didn't now about this, thanks user.

2019...I am forgotten.

Attached: allods online.jpg (1014x575, 167K)

Yeah I played that as well. Didn't get far as I had no idea what the fuck I was doing, I mostly remember running away from like 50 enemies who chased me across the fucking map constantly.

Why not try Dofus user?

hey this looks interesting, never played it but seems it was actually good?
maybe we should get a Yea Forums thing going for it? like it's own thread later or something

Because I've been playing that shit on and off since I was 12 and I always get bored of it around level 120.

The last couple of levels of shields became hilariously broken. There reached a point where their density was so great that just about nothing could damage them.

Until that point they were moslty useless though

Enjoy.

>any modern MMO.
They are singleplayer games with multiplayer elements tacked on.

Tell me, tell me, tetetetete tell me

I loved Rumble Fighter, it was a ton of fun, especially when the PVE stuff came out. Sadly, I forgot to import my old account when they switched publishers. I wasn't about to start from nothing again.

i believe if devs played mmos and took notes of the best thing each mmo tried to succeed, they could make something amazing but they need to make bank on them so nope, never happening.

>playing MMOs with Yea Forums
You guys never learn, do you?

The game was gear-base so its not like levels really mattered. The real tragedy was that it was gear-base.

Obscure f2p mmos will never be a thing again. Esport ruined online games, as big prize pools is a big draw, even for casuals that will never win a single cent off the game.

Yeah, the main issue with MMOs nowadays is that the focus of development is on systems that will make them the most money in the short term. So many people are coming out with similar games that devs have to find a way to get players to play their game first and then milk them for as much as possible before the players lose interest and move to another game.
The one time I did that was in FFXI, and it was a pretty good experience. That's probably not going to be the case for a majority of games since I keep hearing people saying that kind of thing, though.

Well, had a few good times with 2 guys in 1st Guild Wars myself.
Other than that...
Pass.

This game from 2007 died extremely quickly.

i would lag like crazy playing this but i enjoyed it when i was a lad

it was short lived but i remember it being pretty dope.

Came to this thread to post this.

Fucking loved that game.

yeah bro i played this for a bit back in highschool
the gear looked really dope

I've never had a totally negative experience playing mmos with Yea Forums or /vg/, if anything the only issue is the low attention span of most people so guilds get crowded and we're forced to make like 3 or more guilds, then like 3/4 of the people quit and you're left with very small and segregated cliques that don't interact with each other. The whole "meme spammer" trope is very small, like if someone is like that just gets ignored and drops the game, the only issue I've had were probabyl attention whores spamming pics of a russian futa and making everyone pay attention to her, but other than that people are chill neckbeard pedo incels who like to grind.

But god damn, Age of Wushu with anons was the most fucking fun mmo experience I ever had, so many things to even mention, and then I got banned and was left behind everyone and could never catch up.

Attached: 1452048202302.gif (264x426, 1.86M)

Also it has one of the best ost in mmos
youtu.be/zVuvm91zBVA

Yes Freejack

youtube.com/watch?v=nylRZGrGcJo

I had fun racing other anons in that game, but they had this absurd progression system, where you would get random perks when leveling up... so not only you needed to be lucky enough to get a bonus that was good you needed to get a certain grade for it to be worth it, otherwise you might as well reroll because people with double speed perks or whatever was op just would win all the time against you. I'm guessing there was some cash shop shenanigans to make you able to swap perks or something but I just quit after a week of realizing how broken it was.

Each time I played MMOs with Yea Forums I had fun. Played LaTale, Mabinogi, dragon nest, Tera, ff14, elsword and maplestory 2 with them.

Anyone here played a shitty anime MMO called Grand Fantasia from Aeria Games? Wasted a lot of my younger years there, but made some good friends at least...

Speaking about racing mmos I wonder what happened with Tales Runner. That was a fun one.

>Rappelz
Fuck I only played that game because summoner class sould have 2 summons in the engame and 2 of the top summons were cute pixies or fairies

>mushroom or slime enemies
>comfy elevator music where ever you go
>weird anime not anime artstyle
>simple brain dead UI
>colorful maps
How can all these soulless things contain so much soul when put together by soulless koreans?

Attached: 1545366653947.jpg (640x480, 31K)

Oh shit, I remember playing it before I learnt some english IIRC. There was this one repeatable quest that I kept doing over and over hoping for something new to happen before I realized what was going on. Fun times.

>ff14 or tera with Yea Forums
>fun
Holy shit you're a lucky bastard
Or a goddamn fag

I played Legend of Mir to completion with a friend, I've never seen anyone who's even heard of it. Have no memory of how we found it either, it was mostly Brits, Chinese and Polish that were on the server.

I never erp or anything with the degenerates if that’s what you’re thinking. Early Tera when it was b2pwas fun and early ff14 was fun aswell, I still play with random folks in the ff14 threads here on primal.

I used to play this game so much on cyber cafes until i got my own shitty pc back in 2010.
Everyone i knew played this game back then.
I still have very happy memories with this game and i wish i could go back.

Attached: Conquer-Online.jpg (1024x768, 205K)

i played this, not for too long but it was my first mmo ever so the experience was worth it
remember getting lost into the snowy place

Priston Tale

Came to post about this, extremely based user
The music of that game was the comfiest soundtrack ever made

Attached: UnchartedWatersOnlineCover.jpg (265x376, 57K)

Remember farming cows in that.
Didn't they rename it at some point?

I learned to type fast during the summer going into 4th grade because of 9dragons. Played hundreds of hours of that shit

Attached: 9dragons.jpg (1023x563, 148K)

I don't think anyone on this board ever played florensia

>tfw this kino fighter was basically Tekken, but online, before Tekken allowed matches through the internet

It's a shame it was so short lived. They shut it down rather quickly once it got out of the beta and never brought it back despite the game being fairly popular.

Attached: KwonHo8-14J.jpg (1024x765, 190K)

I ground my way to unlock some of the favor based classes a year or so back. Figuring out how to make a build is so fun, plus I really like that each quest feels like an adventure, and not fetch quest, aimless wandering/grinding garbage. No time these days though.

Was about to post this. Fuck I played too much Conquer. I remember slapping apes for hours on end.

There was this Pre-rendered 3d anime MMO about Capturing pets and training them that I downloaded once. It was a grindfest, so I only played until around lvl 20, but I don't remember the name. Something-Master I guess

I did maybe for a few days, not even a week, it felt very generic and unrewarding so I couldn't stick with it, did I miss on anything?

isnt that what albatross 18 used to be? they sold cosmetics with pangya
it got too stupiod and people who paid for pretty much per month always had an advantage or something. not sure if it was p2w or not or just stupid retard shop

Attached: albatross-18-season-two-screenshot.jpg (1020x765, 101K)

I played a shitload of ROSE ONLINE and DRAGON NEST

Attached: dragon nest.jpg (640x480, 62K)

I used to solo grind at an endgame dungeon as an asura summoner with a red pixie and a blue pixie, pet classes were so busted. It was more interesting in the early days too when each pet had their own unique skill tree.

What was that one web based 3D action game that had like no textures and functioned like a roguelike - being an endless dungeon below surface? I played that.

Jesus christ
Was about to ask
>"What's that one isometric-looking MMO where you can play a taoist that shoots lightning at chickens and the housing market is insane?"
I remember the first time I ever tried asking a girl out was over AOL instant messenger while I was fighting ghosts one Summer, playing Conquer Online.

No the combat was fucking terrible and they somehow made it worse with the revamped.

Gaia's zOMG was actually pretty good, if not as half as obscure as the other stuff in this thread
The ring based ability system worked really well, and i'd like to see something similar worked into another game

Attached: img_3.jpg (782x550, 155K)

Honestly can't remember much about it other than it had massive hype as the next wow killer. Didn't have to grind gear and could pvp straight away. I think the company went bankrupt pretty quickly.

Spiral Knights, that was a weird yet comfy game.

literally me
top tier taste my man

but what about the older game by three rings PUZZLE PIRATES!?

Bagingo World

Fallen Earth. It is a genuinely shitty game, but its one of the only post-apocalyptic mmos that actually capitalizes on its setting. Its dreary and empty, everything is crafted from scrap, and it looks and plays like ass. That being said it was my game through highschool and I had a lot of fun with it because I am dumb.

Attached: fallen-earth-hd-wallpapers-33086-4684078.jpg (1680x1050, 476K)

also Bang! Howdy

Attached: image_bang!_howdy_1[1].jpg (700x560, 169K)

After I found MapleStory, I'd go through that "top free mmo" site repeatedly looking for something to play. I probably downloaded and tried a good 15 MMOs I'll never remember, some of which were dead by the time I even tried logging in back in about 2002-2003

Dark Ages

Lothgar Online was cool. I also rather enjoyed Valkyrie Sky for a while. MMOish shmup was a unique idea and the music was nice.

God I miss it, it was the only mmo I've ever enjoyed and nothing has filled that void since.

holy fuck someone else played valkyrie sky... I like that so much, but I stopped playing, and then when I wanted to go back it was gone... seemed like no one cared about it until now.

The melee class was broken though, you could ignore all projectiles just spamming your melee attack.

Fucking SEED. Feel like it had potential but none of the mechanics came together in any fun way

Attached: EB56A842-57B0-4AAB-BC54-C98EDD0BA1DD.jpg (800x600, 128K)

Mytheon. It's history is funky too, since it got a beta in like 2009-2010, then Petroglyph pulled the plug on it and then released this stillborn in 2015 with playerbase of like 5 players. I have a serious Greek mythology hard-on and they went pretty deep into it with monsters and bosses. Fun as fuck

Attached: mytheon-battling.jpg (1920x1080, 529K)

It got an update last month
why did sega force them to waste time and money on a mobile game instead of a rogue like spin off game

I also played some of that SMT mmorpg which was weirdly comfy even if the game was shit. Also, there was an MMO that was basically Star Fox where you could customize your plane and such. Anyone remember it?

Wonderland Online.I never see it posted in these threads. It wss duch a broken mess by any standards, but i've loved every second of it.Truly the people and the social aspect made the game enjoyable.

It’s been almost 3 years
Did you guys also play ant.io?

You aren't the only 1, sometime I'd sit back and nostalgia for some of them. Some I've only played for like a day and could still nostalgia over them.

My only regret was that I never had the chance to stay around for most of these. I dream a day where someone could pull another city of hero's and get some korean to dump the server files to a lot of these mmo.

I fucking hate this game because I never got it to launch on my computer

I heard its coming back

You know what would be fun? Getting a bunch of Yea Forumsirgins to group up and explore one dead MMO every week or something like that.

Attached: Knight online.jpg (1600x900, 342K)

We should try Spellborn right now!

Can barely find any screenshots but Savage Eden was great.

>it's still up
Wow, I guess the server costs must be super lightweight.

Jerrath Online. Played it with my best friend in our late high school years. Introduced me to mmo’s and I have never since played such a comfy and rewarding one. Tears me up. I think its still running, though.

Has anyone ever played A Tale in the Desert?

I was really intrigued by it as a kid but the sub costs were insane. Somehow it's still going after almost 15 years

MythWar Online , a weird turn based mmo with some cool classes and great music, I never hear anyone talk about it, there's a sequel but it's not as good as the original as far as I'm concerned.
here's the female centaur class

I forgot the picture

Attached: mythwar.jpg (1024x768, 222K)

This one was actually Ok as far as I remember.

I fucking loved this shit until it became obvious it was just a grind or pay2win trash heap

Knight Online and that one MMO that had a really similar art-style to WoW, but with flying warships and a commie feel to one of its factions.

I remember this shit. Punching trees to level up my mage, good times

Dragon Nest has some of the best combat. Is it properly fucked now or is there some life on the asian servers?

I remember this shit in beta, was going to be so good. Then Retail came out and it was like abandoned.

>Make a fucking Kids Next Door MMO
>All for a TV promotion
>It's pretty decent
>Shut it down not even months later when the promotion ended
>Literally no evidence of it's existence outside of a couple screenshots until recently when a former developer uploaded an offline version

Probably one of the rarest MMO's I could think of. Real shame they never made a foundation on this, instead they just gave us Fusionfall and called it a day.

Attached: OperationBEST-CreateOpertive[1].jpg (257x342, 53K)

I still toy with the idea of going back to pristontale, theres something about the comfy grind from oasis > d3 or d4 then sitting in darksanctuary for a while. Fuck I loved that game in ~03, the XP rates on most servers now seem far faster though.

>Trickster Online
Was 12 or 13, didn't understand shit in English but had so much genuine FUN with Dragon and Lion

I remember when every board at Yea Forums came together for cosmic break. It was pretty fun until cybershit went full jevv.

That shit was fun, I remember putting parts together to make a monstrosity. Then the fucking goth loli bitch and the clown ruined everything

I played it when I was 10 or something.

Holy fucking SHIT there's someone else that played these games. I used to play one that was called Call of Darkness, I even became a mapper and had so much fun. They were all made with the same engine.

wouldn't be the eclipse engine would it?

sherwood dungeon, a shitty free asset galore pretending to be a game, played it when i was like 8
i can't be the only one, right

Think about that game all the time, the dev got paranoid schizophrenia and shut it all down, spends his time homeless and ranting on facebook about other dimensions and shit.

Attached: ss (2014-11-07 at 10.16.31).png (657x584, 54K)

What the fuck happened to him? And have a link to his fb?

Fantastic frontier, unironically. Yes, it's a Roblox game and no, i am not kidding, I am endorsing a Roblox game. Might not be massive but it's multiplayer, online and underrated as fuck.

Attached: RobloxScreenShot456.png (1500x802, 599K)

Just look up the dev's name I'm not gettnig banned for doxxing. He came down with severe schizophrenia, his parents tried to get him help but couldn't get him hospitalized against his will. His facebook rants are crazy enough that there have been kiwi farm threads about him.

whats it about user

I think early MMOs really had potential to spread wide through word of mouth. There were so few of them that they could spread like wildfire especially if they were free to play.
I personally started a whole school wide boom of Runescape when I found it really early in its life when it still looked like pic related. Who knows how many people it lead to playing the game in my city.

Attached: runescape the actual old school version.png (512x345, 85K)

Well it's free, play it. Starts off a bit slow but it's surprisingly deep and there's potentially 50-100h of content if you're autistic enough to farm n shit.

Attached: ss (2014-10-15 at 05.28.54).png (596x594, 30K)

To me the game felt like an incredibly boring slog that tried too hard to be all about the story while you can't really use standard single player style story telling in an MMO. It should've been a single player game instead of some weird hybrid that had the worst parts of both worlds.

Attached: ss (2014-11-16 at 02.24.43).png (552x586, 14K)

This game was amazing. The skill system was really awesome and it's a shame no other game tried to do something similar.

I can't even remember what the type of hero was called, the category with Strider, Jin, and Mephisto. Jin pissed me off to the point I quit forever. That, and the permanent lag ruining everything.

here's a typical post by the dev now a days.
It's not fair lads, why did the dev of my all time fav game have to be hit with the crazies?

Yes, it is obscure, because I'm talking about modern Ultima Online.

i have never been able to re-discover this game in one of these threads.

I did too.

My characters were Jogun and Orca

I played this for a bit in launch with a guild from Yea Forums. I got two characters to 30+ but the game was horribly grindy and basically required you to log in every day for a set amount of xp to keep progressing at optimal pace.
It had some neat things but also a lot of modern MMO retardese like a fuckton of story quests that didn't really give you any xp but did unlock a bunch of shit so you ideally had to do them anyway. Some of the comfiest grinding I've had in recent years though. Most games don't support that sort of grinding anymore while in lodoss it was the best way to level.

Oh shit I wouldn't even have remembered this if I hadn't seen the image. I can't really remember anything about it other than it being weird but cool.

looks like a fun game

It boggles my mind that more games like Drift City or Ace Online/Space Cowboy/Air Rivals don't exist in 2019, even on mobile. They really helped the grind by making every encounter so much fun. Both games, ironically, were ruined by cheese.

Like even a good fast TPS with advanced movement like S4 League or GunZ just doesn't exist except for maybe Splatoon. Fuck, I just played a game on my phone that was a fucking Battle Royale that was S4 League/Titanfall and it was decent but it was a goddamned phone game.

I've got a gaymer phone though so it's not half bad.

God I miss this OST.

Quiet nice, dope skills, nice moves etc.
Went all nice until a fat feminist weebo became admin and started to bann people for using words like "shit, fuck" in private chats.

I remember barely understanding english, finding this game, making a character through some weird old RPG style questionnaire, getting in the game and being utterly lost. At some point some high level dude gave me a bunch of buffs and I was the strongest and killed a bunch of stuff that I couldn't have killed otherwise. And that's about all I remember. Never really got into it.

Could've gone places if the devs hadn't put in the most jewed cash shop there is. Like holy shit was it bad.

I vaguely remember this but not really. It's been too many years.

>all that time you spent grinding, making friends, trading in the market, and discovering new things in your MMOs world is now gone

I try not to think about the old MMO servers I used to be on because I end up getting a melancholy feeling. Who else misses there old mates?

Attached: 30yr old boomer.png (536x628, 508K)

nexon is a shit company. these should go f2p already

I feel you boomer brah. It's so weird having spent countless of hours with these people yet you might not even have known their real names. Once you stopped playing you never heard of them again.

What are some mmos you can play nowadays. One without 1 million of different items for crafting etc.

Oh btw i remember playing a game long time ago, probably 2010 or so....chibi characters...you had pets which were called spirits i believe. Does anyone remember that one ?

Kru has Darkages

I swear its run by one man named Joeker

>What are some mmos you can play nowadays. One without 1 million of different items for crafting etc.
Albion is pretty easy on the crafting. A Dagger requires like 12 Bars and 16 Things of Leather. A sword is like 16 Bars and 12 things of leather. And then everything is seperated by Tier from 1 to 8. Leveling up your mastery in a weapon just makes it slightly sftronger, so at like level 45 Broadsword Mastery your T4 Broadsword is as strong as a T5 Broadsword.

I loved rose.
Also loved:
Talesweaver (pic rel), flyff and seal online.
All i actually cared about were aesthetics and talesweaver was and will always be the best looking mmo i've ever played.

Attached: TWCI_2012_7_12_21_20_40.jpg (793x619, 212K)

Also, the ost was by the same guys that made ragnarok's and is even better i'd say.

>What are some mmos you can play nowadays.
SWG has a bunch of private servers though I think the popular ones run shitty versions of the game like NGE and CU.
SWGemu Basilisk has 1000 people online pretty much 24/7 but a lot of it is people afking or grinding with macros. Jump to lightspeed should be coming sometime in the future but who knows how long it will take. I imagine that will spawn a new wave of life on the server though.

Albion is literally the definition of SOULLESS when it comes to MMORPGs. All of its design is so fucking sterile.

Attached: Wonderland-Online-wallpaper.jpg (1280x1024, 335K)

This and BOTS

Attached: exteel.png (500x500, 500K)

I tried to play this game once because I love mechs and what not but the fact you had to lock onto people to shoot them was completely stupid.

I played it for like 2 months straight and felt the exact opposite. It felt like a classic MMO experience from the late 90s, particularly due to the community. This was a few years ago, and I recently hopped on to see what a disaster the game had become. Steam release was a mistake.

Help me !
Looking for a mmo game from around 2010, kinda chibi style, you could have pets and i think those were calles spirits !?

Wasn't the netcode super shit for that game? I remember being in the alpha/beta or something since I was active in the WoW arena scene.
Think Raddy was shilling it like mad for a while.

I only played it for a few days, but had the urge to play it again recently only to find out it shut down in March 2018 after only coming out on December 2015
Was an ARPG like Diablo more-so than an MMO

not really obscure but never took off, Continent of the Ninth Seal (C9)
was pretty fun, played it on NA launch
I loved dungeon invading
overall it lacked a proper endgame when I played and it was infested with BRs
generally liked how it played, magic felt great to use

Have and Hearth.

Everything about the game's design is so, I don't know what word to use for it other than sterile. Like the tier system. Everything is based on the same tier system and once you learn it you know everything about it. All branches of crafting work the same. There's absolutely no flavor in anything. It feels like a game designed by some statisticians instead of actual game designers. It doesn't even try to pretend that it's not a soulless machine for you to do time wasting grind in. It doesn't feel like a fantasy world to explore like UO did. I don't really like the soulless meme but it fits Albion.

Grand Chase
it still hurts

Attached: gc striker load screen.jpg (801x601, 83K)

just play the filipino/brazilian private servers :^)

I don't even play Albion but I've seen quite a few people playing it because I follow mmo streamers. I think the game exactly like you say, it's like a medical onahole, when you have cute onaholes that try to resemble a woman in some way, and then you have this generic transparent onaholes that look like gillete mach 3 design or some shit, but they both get the job done. So that's the thing I appreciate Albion, it provides an environment for autists to no life, and activities that promote grouping, and gear that promotes customization etc. Yes the systems are horribly computer like designed, and visuals aren't very creative, and it all ends up beign a clusterfuck, but it doesn't need to pretend being this tryhard fantasy world with some lore about dark and light lolis taking care of the tree of life because evil demon lord is going to make the world explode or some shit. It could be way way better? sure, but in it's particular niche there isn't much competition that has an active playerbase.

I played GC History, but some months after the realease the pvp was dead.

Rusty Hearts was awesome, supposedly theres a private server called revolution.
I remember Flyff, 4Story, 2Moon, Rappelz, Silkroad, Cabal and 9Dragons.
And god bless 9Dragons in times of its original publisher 10 years ago, i've spend thousands of hours it that. I still coming back to it with my friend once a year, we just love that game.

My buddy was super rich and bought us super OP pets, so we would play as tamers and exp on super high levels just with our pets, some kind of Magic and Psychic Genie and dragons. It was super fun.

AR was all that matters in the end as it nullifies everything logarithmically

and it was p2w as fuck

Not an mmo, but I had a lot of fun playing this game with Yea Forums, /jp/ and Yea Forums. I still remember ascending my starter redgirl into her angel form and having sick dogfights with anons while desperately avoiding artillery and anti-air fire. Also my first taste of gatchapon.

Attached: CosmicBreak_Logo.png (397x251, 53K)

Doing the same, made a sexy healslut, something I don't usually do. The character creator did impress me slightly but the game looks otherwise awful, I'm amazed I'm playing this in 2019. I love playing new/beta MMOs before they die out though, I'll probably mess around healslutting for a few days before I get bored.

only real nibbas will remember this gem

I rarely ever see anyone talk about Survival Project and I fucking loved that game as a kid.

Attached: survival-projects-survival.jpg (800x600, 193K)

I played Twin Saga with some anons for a while, it was surprisingly fun. Got insanely grindy though, we used to idle mine overnight. I'd go back to it out of curiosity but pretty sure it's dead.

Attached: ts.jpg (1680x1050, 1.19M)

Yup. Aika was insanely good. I dream every day of getting a modern version.

Attached: Capture0009.jpg (1680x1050, 580K)

>Neosteam
oh shit
remember the faction wars was some kind of stupid with limits towards the numbers of buildables a certain class can make so people fought over it
luckily i was like the only gadgeteer on the whole faction war map

Hey, that was pretty good. I feel for you with that e-gf shit, it has stuff like princess holding female characters and shit. I played it not long ago, many changes, but i played it just a few hours and i can't tell if for worse or better.
Nah, you're not, played the shit out of it. Its still active, surprisingly.

Rappelz was the shit back in the day

Whispers in Akarra

Attached: Akarra.jpg (800x600, 185K)

This is no joke one of my favorite dungeon looters of all time.

early Aion was pretty dope desu, easily kept me busy and interested after TBC

Attached: siel-front.jpg (314x624, 130K)

It had a great style. You really don't see a lot of parody games out there, and the MMO genre definitely makes for a good one.
Think diablo 2 in 3d with mmo-style grouping, The game had a good sense of humor and poked fun at the genre, like the first string of tutorial quests involved you skipping ahead of people in a literal queue to enter the main game. Like a bunch of people in armor standing in line complaining that it was taking too long. It was f2p before that was really a thing and was honestly way too generous and failed.

Man I spent so much time trying out classes in neosteam, because every race got different abilities with every class. Finally found that human rogue was able to stealth and stun with a bow... fucking broken as hell, but the issue was, using poisons leveled your skills slow as fuck. Wish it was relaunched or something, heck I'd even take a mobile version.

It's a weird feeling.
Even weirder knowing that it only existed in that one little snippet of time from 1996 to 2010, and we're never getting it back.
Used to be that MMOs were basically just chat rooms with some gameplay tacked on (since that's literally what MUDs were), nowadays the social aspect has been destroyed by social media and discord.
It's a damn shame.

What happened to the run down dystopia-scifi MMO aesthetic?
I miss it so much.

Kartrider and Bubblefighter, latter got a North America release that didn't even last a week.

where did it go wrong?

Ragnarok Online was probably the most fun MMORPG experience I ever had

youtube.com/watch?v=UN8CVOwcYus

this game have been rebranded many times, i played it when it was called "space cowboy online" but ive seen it being called "air rivals"

Anyone remember a subscription mmo that went f2p that was fully 3d and had structures that players/guilds could build? Also had a pretty standard fantasy style, but more drab than colorful. I know that's pretty vague but it's all I can remember and I can't figure out what it was called, probably was active around 2010 I think.

Mercenaries of Astonia & v3 have been my obsession for 19 years now

>start playing game before anyone really had a black MAU, chip wars were insane as no one was truly overpowered and numbers were important.
>traveling to enemy chip in a caravan of MAUs and all kinds of warriors and mages running alongside us
>blasting Nightwish
Last time I played black MAUs were as common as regular MAUs back in my day and the next one was red? What the fuck is that gold MAU I'm looking at?

>they actually updated the game recently
Who the fuck still plays this shit?

Monster Forest Online

Attached: 35651_8.jpg (1024x768, 393K)

Has anyone ever hear of phoenix dynasty online? That was my shit. I think some turks released pdo2 on steam but it was a fucking failure

This game where if you complained about the lag you get muted or banned by the GM's lol.

Attached: download.jpg (600x835, 155K)

it would help if you described the gameplay more, including camera perspective

Wurm Online went f2p with a stand-alone version and has buildable structures, but it's first person.

An MMO I'm sure legit only I played.
Fighters Club Online, the kill3rcombo game that everyone was super hyped for that never came out outside of Taiwan and SK, and the Taiwanese version was only online for like a year and a half before being shut down.

Attached: Even MORE MMOshit 15.webm (960x540, 2.93M)

mein negger, i mained the lvl 60-69 zone but also bought a lvl 80 with in game money and had a 59. best pvp ive ever experienced gone to fucking waste

Damn, that looks kind of fun. Can you still play on the SK version at least?

Same, the environments are really cute

I honestly have no idea, the Taiwanese version was done through Garena which I guess is some kind of F2P games launcher in Taiwan since it had shit like Fifa Online and LoL on it, but I could never figure out how to access the SK version outside of paying for an account or something.
I liked how even the low-level combat still had a bit of weight to it with grabs and enemy counters and similar things, like an actual beat em up.
Kind of a shame that it's dead.
Hopefully DFO2 can fill the void.

Attached: Even MORE MMOshit 2.webm (960x540, 2.86M)

Yeah everything about it seems to be pretty generic and fuzzy from memory, it wasn't wurm though. Basically a third person MMORPG, dark fantasy style, different races, standard rogue/warrior/mage classes I think. I think one of the races was some gay devil/demon looking things. Pretty sure there was dwarves, elves, and humans as well. I think the structure building was probably the only thing really unique about it but even then I never built anything since I was too poor so it might have actually been pretty limited. There was some neat guild warfare mechanic as well. It was actually sold in stores at one point as I remember seeing it in a GameStop bargain bin and laughing since it went f2p at that point.

Not an MMO but Habbo Hotel. Making fake log in websites to get passwords, having a habbo gf that sent me nudes on msn messenger, what a ride.

So much great art and music wasted on games doomed to fail in this thread. Free korean MMOs usually have a great style to them, compared to how shit they usually are under the hood.

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 217K)

And I'm pretty sure it was turn based combat, again pretty generic stuff.

yikes those stock XtremeWorlds graphics
I remember the dev behind that engine being a real shithead
the most obscure MMO I ever played was probably TalesWeaver, and that's not really an obscure one in asian countries
It was basically Trickster, but better in some ways and with a much more engaging storyline
Hell I'm pretty sure Trickster was actually somewhat of a clone of it from what I remember
Then theres Space Cowboy/AR/ACE, but most people know about that by now- also fuck MasangSoft

Nevermind, it's shadowbane, guess I should have put in a little more effort in my searching.

Should i download aura kingdom or eden eternal ?

Anyone wanna play TwinSaga?

>events used to have you travel to different zones, find something or perform a ritual, and call the rest of the server to raid on
>events now held on one portal
the previous method was laggy as fuck, so I can understand why they switched it, but I still miss it since it made people coordinate

Attached: Gatekeeper and bees.png (1920x1080, 2.85M)

anyone remember soulmaster back on gamescampus? it was an mmorts
i played the fuck out of that with some friends, we were all undergeared and we'd constantly try to fight the high level bots in pvp, we couldnt take them head on so we'd just run around gathering nodes and focusing on map control until we could build mazes of turrets/walls for the bots and their units to run in and die to when they went for our bases
shit was so much fun

This might not be the focus of the thread, but it kinda goes with the theme of it.
Anyone remembers the name of a hi-rates Ragnarok Online server that had pokemons as pets, with a battle tower where you could challenge pokemons, too?
I've been looking for it since a long time, but I can't find if it even existed. I feel like playing that kind of schlock now that I'm a wageslave and I don't have the time to grind in a real server.

Attached: 1554315629526.jpg (335x208, 9K)

Is there any non-Zoomer on Yea Forums that didn't play GUNZ?

It was good, back in the day.

Attached: survivalproject_charswindearth_by_sheepneutral-d3hlirt.jpg (753x1061, 193K)

This looks like a port of the mobile version which was pure, unfiltered ass.

As someone who sunk about 40,000 hours into that game in the last 15 years, can assure you, it's worth getting over the somewhat lame start.

Also, absolutely no justification for playing a single char at a time. Get 4 accounts going, get an autohotkey macro to switch between them and play as your own team.

Came here to post these:
Also, O2jam.

Someday people are going to look back and be nostalgic about shitty gacha phone games the same way we are about shitty old MMOs

Guarantee absolutely nobody played this. Some old ass game called Astonia III

Attached: astonia3.jpg (1280x720, 249K)

I remember this, it was pretty hype.

KwonHo was fucking awesome, I wish they would just release the source code or something. They should allow direct connections. Judo was so fun

There were some other games that I played but the MMORPG that I most fondly remember which I don't think was popular is definitely Pirates of Caribbean MMORPG. As kid I was massive Pirates of Caribbean fan and this game blew my child’s mind. You could talk with almost all characters that were in the movie, you could sail the ship, and even be in pirate squad, where one guy would drive, and others could walk on the ship shooting with cannons and doing other stuff.

Attached: yaryar.png (941x590, 927K)

God I miss this game so much it hurts. I used to play on the Malaysian servers on E-Games

PVP was incredibly competitive

Someone mentioned my game. Guess it's not that obscure. But I'm a non'casher with Rank 9 (for non players: the endgame gear-ish set) so I feel a bit weird as a guild leader compared to the others. They're all whales.

Didn't it have some Korea only server that ran a bit longer?

also dunno if it counts as obscure but im still playing this right now, dont ask me fucking why
theres still some semblance of a community but the game itself does its damnedest now to get you to solo shit, getting to 200 literally takes a day and after that you hit a fucking wall, your only solution is to stack %money gain and go farm money dungeons endlessly until you can afford to either buy runs from high level players or just buy gear yourself outright
and pvp is completely dead
but i dunno, im finding the struggle kind of fun for some reason, it reminds me a bit of the old days, just with less people
i wonder when the nostalgia will wear off

Attached: xLaTale_604x423.jpg.pagespeed.ic.dTGBZ-3Uur.jpg (604x423, 104K)

>getting to 200 literally takes a day and after that you hit a fucking wall, your only solution is to stack %money gain and go farm money dungeons endlessly until you can afford to either buy runs from high level players or just buy gear yourself outright and pvp is completely dead
why are you even playing this game?

>habbohotel.jpg

I can't believe I actually could remember the name of this piece of shit almost immediately

Attached: Rakion-11.jpg (2048x1378, 818K)

I remember watching my friend play this in our lan shop. It took fucking years to kill a single monster and it was considered 'fast' leveling mobs at that.

how the fuck do you pay for 4 accounts nigga?

I tried to get into it, but I couldn't even get mining to 20, it's impossible with everyone camping the fucking spawns, I would expect a fucking dead game to have less people in the starter zones, but no, there's always at least 3 faggots in every mine.

Even speaking as a PWI guild leader your game sounds like shit user

I have yet to meet a single person that knows of puzzle pirates in real life or even among my online friends. I still play till this day. Have almost 10 years on this shit.

not a MMO, but I remember playing it back in the day with the lads.

Sounds like a horrible time waste.

Count me in.

i dont really do any of the optimum shit to progress because its literal cancer, im just fucking around with what few people i can right now

I don't even know what that game was, honestly.
I remember playing it and that's it

Absolutely based. Game was p2w af, but it will always have a place in my heart.

drift city still exists and is quite popular. Look it up under it's real name skid rush. It doesn't get updates like it used to but has events pretty much all the time.
trickster's pserver is better than the official servers were for years, including playerbase, it has a few thousand people playing on it.
mabinogi sucksalways has though, sorry user for your shit taste.

Proof now

This game got revived as Tankpit, by the way.

Attached: tankpit[1].jpg (848x454, 111K)

It was a good MMO. Ice had best defense, but Storm had best offense and Death was second to best.

WHERE MY STORM CHADS AT?

Attached: W101.jpg (750x480, 418K)

which trickster pserver?
the only one I know of is playtrickster and that shit was even more p2w than official when I tried it, with a dev who seemingly stopped giving a fuck after awhile
paula never

Does anyone have the screenshot about the people trolling that german guy that played a shitty mmo for 9k+ hours.

Man this brings me back, I remember wearing this shit out of the black cat amulet.

can i get a quick rundown?

I wish I could find this mmo that I remember, it was an old one, the style was medieval fantasy and the class I played could summon creatures like an undine for healing/support, there was a large grey city and a castle that had a river run along side it, that's all I remember, shit has haunted me trying to find this game for years now.

Honestly, I had the most fun from beta -> otomai before it became the norm for everyone to have an entire team.
Single-account servers have me interested now, but it's been so long I'm sure it's not the same game I remember.

Used to spend days on end just downloading different obscure F2P MMOs and trying each one out, back in the day. Didn't care about any level caps, raiding or stuff like that, just played them then quit when I got bored since I didn't have money to buy many games, but I did have an old PC and a decent internet connection.
Then I finally managed to save up for the WoW Battle Chest (Worcha Worcha as my little sister used to call it) and struck a deal where instead of getting some pocket money each week, I'd get a set amount each month and could finally pay for my sub.
Guild Wars: Nightfall was somewhere in there before I started getting into WoW, loved that game too but it was real hard.
Runescape and AdventureQuest were also a thing before those.
It was strange but playing all those different games and exploring all those different worlds felt like a journey of its own and finally getting to play WoW was a goal of mine, since I loved Warcraft 1, 2 and 3 to bits.
I remember waiting for the game to download and install over the evening, reading and re-reading through the "strategy guides" that came packed in with the games, then playing through the first few levels as each class to get a feel for them. My little sister liked watching me play Warlock, specifically because of the Imp and nicknamed it the "Little Imp game" after that.
Played the game, loved it. Learned how to RP on there, which was always what I wanted to do in WoW anyway even if I didn't know it, to immerse myself into that world in the shoes of a character and explore it properly.
Started playing League of Legends when that came out too. Continued to play that while Cataclysm ruined WoW for me, only to end up discovering that that game would become shit too, mostly on account of its own business model.
A lot of the games I used to play simply closed down, or through innumerable patches and expansions and revisions transformed into something altogether different.
A lot of these games are lost.

my connection never allowed me to play that. Too much action for my third world pre-2010 internet.

remember PANG PANG TERRIBLE?

because apparently google image search doesn't.

I never managed to play it.

probably the worst one i played was league of angels

i miss fucking neopets bros

I remember always seeing commercials for this, what gameplay like as ads never show how it played

What about DUNGEON RUNNERS, also published by NCsoft around the same time?

Fuck you m8, Rakion was top tier.

Almost like they got someone who can actually kind of sort of speak a little english to sing it.

I remember playing this when it was in the beta.

Then the came properly released and I heard a bunch of complaining about some item people were supposed to have for being a part of the beta, and I just didn't bother to play it any more.

Fuck

The most recent two dead MMOs I played were Revelation Online and Astellia Online, although the latter isn't even released yet but it obviously going to be a total failure.

Revo was actually really fun, but sadly got probably the worst MMO publisher that exists with my.com/mail.ru, and thus got fucking slammed through the CBT process as fast as it could making the translation of everything fucking terrible if it even existed in the first place, and a bunch of bugs laying around because it was based off a russian port of a chinese game. Then they fucked it even more by including the abhorrently P2W chink cash shop in which you could all but buy the end game gear, instead you had to buy items you could trade for other items that would allow you to buy said endgame gear. Then despite all that people still played it, until literally every single person I knew who played that game, including myself, got hacked and had their items and money stolen. I miss it.

Meanwhile Astellia's CBT2 release tweet only has fucking 31 likes and 9 retweets. It's not even that bad, just painfully mediocre, I don't mind it too much because it reminds me of what it's going to be, some dead obscure korean MMO that never took off in the west, and those games just have some really unique feel about it.

Attached: cat3.jpg (540x614, 63K)

Lunia, bretty fun when it worked

Attached: gameplay-lunia.jpg (800x450, 121K)

they fucked big time by not releasing Astellia on steam, and yes the reddit is surprinslgy dead, theor forums too. It's all Bless' fault for ruining the last thread of hope for gook/chink mmos.

Which class are you playing? I tried the archer for a bit last night but it was so fucking bad... I really lost any intention of paying for this game once it's released.

Fuck yeah man. EO was my life. Friend of mine got in on one of the gold dupes and we both wound up with a ton of money. They wiped the servers a few years later though.

It was that very song that lead me to Granado Espada, That game's soundtrack was great.

I remember going online to play it and seeing it shut down

Attached: FusionFall.jpg (1015x542, 250K)

Hardly anyone here remembers it. Not sure why. I played that shit every single day for a couple years at least. I try going back to it every so often but it sucks now. Not sure who is in charge these days or if vult-r and all the old people are even involved anymore.

I listen to the soundtrack for that. Never played it, but the game's music is pretty good.

Was it on maid marion with the other game where you walked around on the moon?

>someone else played revo
One of the biggest cases of wasted potential I've ever experienced desu, the game itself was fun but it was obviously a cashgrab in the west and was getting milked to bits by the publisher

I played it for a bit before the english launch with a few anons on CN which was a really interesting time

Attached: Revelation Online_161106_0011.jpg (1920x1017, 499K)

I remember playing an MMO called Planeshift that was supposed to have some gimmick where the lands would keep changing

Oh hey, I played that as well when I was younger. I remember it being pretty fun.
Also a good one, I remember playing a couple rounds every now and then.

Graal Online

Attached: 1175462377-0.82963600[1].png (1432x844, 238K)

I bet you're brazilian or some sort of spic

I was playing Mage, since really you can't go wrong with mage, also all the other classes bar healer and warrior just felt like shit, especially archer.

Bless still upsets me, I'll forever stay adamant that it was a good MMO and got butchered 'for western audiences' by the horrific combat change they decided to do at the last minute. The JP build was pretty fun and I'll forever be pissed that retarded faggots who spout shit about how horrible tab target games are and how they only play action combat games managed to indirectly nigger the game. I'm sorry for ironically shilling it too.

Yeah, it's probably the most upsetting MMO I've played, Warrior was and still is one of the funnest tank classes I ever played in an MMO. Nothing beats a spear+board class that has leaps, pulls, spins, button mash for more damage, charge up attacks and CC for days. 1st level tier PvP was really great as well, when you could actually compete gear-wise with the whales.

Attached: autism meltdown.png (372x572, 430K)

Are you the original user that made those webms? Fuck you for making want to play a game that died before I even had the chance to play it.

Spires of Agartha, a shitty byond roleplaying MMO

This picture taken hours before 90% of the brave anons we were playing with were captured on a raid by Not-Aztecs and only barely saved from public execution by a deep cover agent who had embedded himself into the existing community and dabbed hard enough on the whales to allow everyone to run free and scatter into the wilds.

What a great game.

I played this an ungodly amount, I think it unironically ruined my life by giving me an MMO addiction, even played with some people that are now e-celebs like lilypichu.

Don't regret it though, it's seriously one of the best games I've played and everyone playing it was super friendly, it was nice.

Oh man, that takes me back. I remember back when Graal3D was launching. I wish I could get in to my old account but I don't have access to the email I used anymore.

There was a reallllyyyy old MMO I used to play.
It was basically secret of mana with a small group of people. You would all connect to each other and then play through stages, it was ARPG and some of the first few quests involved stuff like rounding up slimes.
One of the biggest things I remember is the main story character were a group of 2 boys and 2 girl. One of the boys looked basically like Sasuke.

pokemon revolution online, the same playability of gameboy's one but it tries to gather all the regions of pokemon in one multiplayer game. Currently only avaliable zones are kanto, jhoto and sinnoh with unova on the works.

Attached: pro2019.png (1261x595, 270K)

I put abut 300 hours in before I quit. Pretty good overall but the amount of xp required for level 100 pokemon gets pretty tiring after awhile i'll probably go back eventually.

How could you stand all that P2W garbage? PokeMMO is tons better.

This game was fun as fuck, I played it on the chink server too and then never bothered with the english one, shame what they did to it cause I was honestly quite excited to play it in english with other people so I could do some of the endgame shit

it makes me wish nintendo came with the same concept and polish it, but it will never happen

I played the shit out of this game and its sad that the best way to make money was afk fishing.

actually never tried pkemmo, i wans't aware it existe desu

private server never

I'll never get how Nintendo doesn't shut these down especially when the devs obviously make money through "donations".

Does it feature original content or is it just basically taking the ROMs of the games and making them multiplayer?

they totally do

Apparently for PokeMMO, since the player "provides" their own copies of the game and runs the assets off that, they avoid getting the boot.

It's just multiplayer Pokemon really. But it's fun to trade and battle randos.

Played a pokemon MMO based on the Tibia client... was pretty good too bad it was BR servers, Nintendo took down the first server in 2013 but they did launch another version of the game that is still going.
