Would you have a setup like this if you were rich enough?

Would you have a setup like this if you were rich enough?

That TV can't possibly have that many inputs. Imagine the cable switching. If I were rich, I'd buy more displays.

No, that set-up is horrid.

>old shit into lcd
no

No because I would still be sitting at my PC

No. I would buy 5 or 6 arcade cabnets though

I have almost every single console in that picture and I have one 20" PVM and one console out at a time. When I'm done with it, I put it back in the closet. Fags like that who just want to "show off" their collection are poser faggots.

>PS3 set vertically
cringe

why do people put their tvs so high up?

No, if anything I'd have James Rolfe's set-up.

A basement santuary filled with wall to wall video games all half-assedly hooked up to an old tube TV and Nintendo Power posters all over the walls.

You only need one display with one system connected at a time. Putting twenty systems on display at once is a sign of low class.

>has money
>continues to be a dweeb
No hope

u guys got weird definition of rich, just get a normal job.

or maybe u are americans and have to live on legal slave wages.

Oh fuck off and stop trying to attribute class warfare to fucking video games.

>consoles

i pretty much have this but without the inner lighting, and my tv is bigger and sits on top on the surface.
the idea is that every console's video is plugged in already and all you need to do is plug in the right power cord, while hiding the power cords behind something thats still accessible.

displaying games is kinda gay though, and i keep all the controllers in bins/drawers like a normal person.

Attached: 1456700296156.jpg (200x400, 24K)

With quite a few tweaks for sure.
>Piss poor audio setup
>Opting for wireless controllers
>Wasting space and money on regional releases of consoles
>Playing retro on a lcd
>Playing retro through composite
>Using 4 (likely composite) switchers instead of finding a fucking huge one
>Red velvet, backed shelves with show lights instead of well ventilated backless smooth shelves to preserve retro and keep things cool
Just a few things to start. I'm sure I could find others.

>jealousy: the post

>owning all of that
>the only games they play is mario games

every fucking time

even if the red back-light is off that's way too much visual clutter around the monitor

>dat crystal xbox
I'm jelly

>another generation of consoles falls to aniquity
>another trip to ikea
>the fat greasy Yea Forumsagrant gazes up at the television
>he grabs a dining room chair and stands up on it
>the television is raised two more feet
>six years later
>another console generation relegates the ps4 to the wall of console
>news report
>man who lives alone crushed to death by television

>rich enough
Come on now, can't be more than 5k, TV included

>displaying games is kinda gay though
I keep my games on a shelf for convenience, but anybody that frames ps1 cases like in op's pic is a faggot.

>carpet
ewww

i'm not that rich. I'M just lonely

Attached: bst.jpg (2752x2064, 1.27M)

Jealous of what? I have almost everything in that pic.

>that cable management
>orange color scheme
>that big empty wall
kino

>displaying games is kinda gay though
depends, the way OP does it is fucking obnoxious (unless if it's something like an NES case or something really cool looking) but a shelf full of games looks really nice

i'd rather spend a couple thousand on hookers and blow

>Playing old games on an LCD flatscreen
No. I have a perfectly comfortable CRT meant for exactly that. Anything 360/PS3 and up gets played on HD TVs.
Pic related (although not my pic) is what I use for old games. It's small and lightweight, but the picture shows clearly.

Attached: toshiba-tv-dvd-combo[1].jpg (576x828, 57K)

This person is the type of dude who would get bit by a zombie and not tell anyone he's with.

Attached: 1496962916464.jpg (400x369, 35K)

No. I'd just buy a new high-end PC and drawing tablet every couple years and shit tons of HDDs for porn, music and backups. And pay someone to replace shitty bumpers on my Steam Controller.

it kinda loses it's appeal when most consoles have flashcarts or read the entire library from HDs

If I has Rich....Hell no....Thats massively obsessive

Id have...
>Massive 70"+ Flatscreen with best possible refresh rate, resolution, etc
>Playstation 4 Pro
>Switch
>Top of the line HDMI cables and Ethernet split

And then off to the side would be a massive $2500+ Gaming PC

You dont need anything else to enjoy all games have to offer with this set up. If you really need 1 other thing, get an Xbox360

No because I actually like to play my video games and that setup is the definition of form over function.

That just seems tiresome and a bit autistic. I suppose if you really don't have the room, but you figure you could at least have a few consoles out and ready at a time.

>"What is an A/V switch?"
Retard.

>most consoles would look better on a CRT
>TV is wall mounted at a horrible angle
>all that trash in front of you is a massive distraction from your gaming experience
>most of his 'collection is in poor condition and unboxed
Yeah, no, I've seen much better efforts.

nah i'm not that interested in games. if i were rich i'd probably have a new, professionally-tuned hi-fi system installed, an off-site vinyl storage warehouse and maybe a passing interest in super cars.

if i were rich and really into video games, i'd probably have a collection like last gamer's in a warehouse with a nerd like him sorting and collecting it for me.

>That just seems tiresome and a bit autistic.
Unless you've got a way to hook up 30+ consoles at the same time then I'll keep my method.

That looks comfy. I'm jealous

No, it's more showing off than practical. Also, that TV for any pre-gen 7 console is going to make the games look like shit.

>owning 30+ consoles
That's the autistic part.

People who try hardest on their setup play the least games. You never need this many consoles connected at the same time. If they are all getting power at once and its not just for show this is a huge fire hazard, and we will be short one more set of games on the market and the prices will climb higher.

I own 10 consoles. My television has 4 inputs. I currently have Xbox One X, Playstation 3, Saturn, and Dreamcast connected. I don't need any more right now because I can only juggle so many games at once.

I keep my big dick Saturn shelf front and center. Its cool to have a shelf of rare stuff you have. Its pointless to have a retarded setup like this. Put the tv to where you can actually use it.

"I MUST BE READY TO LAUNCH NES SHOVELWARE AT ANY SECOND SO I NEED TWO OF EM!"

I just noticed the N64 is missing the expansion slot cover. Not rich enough for that $4 fix.

So? If I got bit by a zombie I'd spit on all our food when nobody is looking. I'm not getting infected alone!

>Thousands of dollars worth of game cartridges, systems
>All audio goes through a shitty sound bar because not enough space for a real sound system. What the fuck why is there a kiosk right there?

Millennials will never own property. I hate this shit. I want my own house one day and these faggots are hell bent on being rent wagies.

Attached: download (4).jpg (235x215, 8K)

I get along just fine with my OSSC and Retrotink 2x.

>loads of money
>old consoles on a CRT
>shit tier wavebirds for the GameCube
>"The red LEDs power up my consoles!"
>Games framed and unplayable
>Gears of war special edition
Remember kids, you can't buy taste

unless a game needs blur for dithering most retro games don't even benefit from scanlines
hdmi modded consoles are pretty sweet. we've even gone as far to patch n64 games to remove blur.

!

You've just proven you lack class with your profanity laced tirade.

You're on Yea Forums you stupid double nigger. Yea Forums of all places. Fuck off.

No, I'd have a setup like the one I already have, which was pretty affordable, even on a basic wageslave income. I suppose if money and space were no concern, I'd also put together a dedicated 480p setup for 6th gen stuff.

Attached: 1562018872043.jpg (2064x1161, 468K)

>stuffing consoles with vents in a velvet box
>with lights on top of it
I guess rich people can still be retarded

!

The most autistic setup I`ve ever seen.

nah, i'd buy that 11 thousand dollar console-pc

No. That’s garish and reddit as fuck. I’d lose the colored lights, store the consoles I wasn’t actively playing on, and ditch all the videogame memorabilia on the walls in favor of something tasteful (either “classy” games memorabilia like rare aesthetically pleasing posters or just let my girlfriend help me pick out tasteful non-vidya stuff). Otherwise my setup is similar.

This.

Nice room, pal.

I bet this nigger doesn't even own any 3DO games, let alone play it

Attached: image0-3-1.jpg (334x503, 23K)

one who consorts with beasts

Don't give the attention whore (you)s, he's literally on Yea Forums at all times waiting to post his shit and talk about how he's not a tranny

this
i hope this fag takes the consoles out of their display boxes when he uses them. that xbox has the side vents completely blocked

Thats only like $1000 worth of stuff

show the 6th gen one

odd question but any idea where do get a bed frame like that. my current one is a shitty platform frame and mt matress slides when I sleep. that bedframe is super nice looking. kino setup too

My dream set-up is.
>small-ish room
>wood paneling or real wood
>comfy recliner and couch combo
>mini fridge
>37" CRT Television (NOT a video production monitor, for reasons beyond the scope of this thread)
>television sitting on modest entertainment center cabinet with center of screen lined up with line of sight from sweet spot of couch so to minimize neck strain
>good quality speakers and a pair of noise canceling headphones available when needed
>small closet to store hardware and accessories
>mix of real systems, emulation, and flash carts where logic dictates, with the goal to minimize clutter
>things not in use kept in closet out of sight
>low-key decor that does not have any "gamer" theming

The goal is to create a chill, comfy room where someone might actually feel like sitting down to play a game instead of thinking they are in a collector's shrine of cringe.

Attached: 1510907399013.jpg (1520x1138, 222K)

This isn't worth half of what I spent on one of my camera lenses.

t. /p/

looks like shit

nigger tier setup, terrible A/V and not practical whatsoever

I'm not a furry.
I am not. I just have been a tiny bit more than usual lately.

no, probably do 6 mini atx builds and run dedicated emulators that can pull up any game, with multiple screens, to compare art between gens, and platforms. and to multiplayer at good res. dont see any reason to fetishize obsolete hardware, its the software thats of value

unequivocally soulful

No, I'd have all my non HD consoles connected to a BVM.

Is this the true...orange man?

His pvm is more interesting than anything in the picture.
What model? I have a 20M4U

>rich
That setup is entirely doable by anyone with a full time job and no wife/kids if video games are your hobby.

Yes, but I would have another two tvs, that one in there would only run one of those consoles without looking like shit.

thanks man, this was a couple years ago desu

Not really, if I cared that much about old shit, I'd just build a tabletop arcade machine at my dad's place, but I really cba. Maybe one day I'll do it if I have the time.

>not backlighting each console with its signature color
Small thinking.

i guess?but that does not mean anything, people get weird when they got money, there is a pizza with gold flakes on it, rich people is weird

If we're talking about retro setups, I'd love something like this.

Attached: 1562894307393.jpg (3000x2000, 721K)

Bad taste
Decent taste
Last Gamer should lift weights, but this is possibly an appropriate use of the "museum" approach
Decent taste. In many ways, worse than , but in some ways better.
Good taste
Good taste. Functional setup. Just needs to be cleaned and organized.
Good taste

I'm not quite there, but I'm getting there.

>cheap 40 inch tv

You're joking right? I'm poor and I have a 65 inch tv.

Attached: 75 inch tv.jpg (992x558, 112K)

>marvel posters

Is that you Daan

desu you don’t even need to be that rich to have it, shitty LEDs and IKEA furniture are cheap and the TV looks like garbage. The consoles would be expensive, but I assume the guy bought them over years since it’s his hobby.

>More space displaying the consoles than for playing the games.
No.

Attached: fixeditforyou.jpg (654x368, 26K)

I'd have a much bigger room for gaming with a corner for old games with a CRT TV, and about your pic related setup, I would want it to have much space behind so I can comfortably change cables and stuff. I also find tvs that are installed at a tall height stupid, so whatever is under it needs to not be too tall. If possible I'd like it to have outside light entering the room but in a way that doesn't hinder vidya image's quality and with the option to completely cover it if I want to. Would go for lighter colors too, probably have a mix of furnitures that are natural wood and or white.

I used to think this was an awesome set up years ago when I first saw it but now I know you would not have to be rich to afford any of that, and that tv is small as fuck. I do want to shell out a few thousand dollars one of these days though to set up a nice entertainment room.

>literal underrage that thinks Marvel didn't exist before Iron Man movies

Please say sike and tell me you're not really this stupid

no. waste of money and space.

>NES
95% of its library is trash

>SNES
better library than NES

>Genesis
same problem as NES

>sega saturn, turbografix, pcengine, neogeo
LOL

>ps1
finally some good fuckin food

>n64
only about 10 games worth playing

>dreamcast
what was there to play on this besides sonic adventure 1&2 and skies of arcadia?

>ps2
now we're talking

>gamecube
one of nintendo's better libraries

no

How do I stop being sad?

Attached: 77A7B1EB-8544-4F5F-BA18-BB53FF7734B3.jpg (4032x2955, 2.38M)

Probably not because im not a dumb collectorfag.

Whoever took this picture most likely doesn't even play any of those games.

Weak bait

How much of that stuff in the picture gets used? I always think of starting a collection again, but realize it would sit there inanimate doing nothing always sobers me up.

You really wouldn't. I have owned that monitor and although it is nice it is too small.

All of the movies and shows get used often, the games don’t but I don’t collect games for collecting 99% of the games I own are ones I’ve played.

Nice setup user

>how do I stop being sad

Start exercising or doing some manual labor. and don't tell me you do, because that's a lie.

>top of the line hdmi cables
fucking wut

no
i'd just get a beefy rig and emulate most of it
i like when it's clean and not cluttered
at most i'd get a PS2 with a CRT

He probably wants the "Diamond Coated 24k Gold filled Super Fancy HDMI Cables" that cost $300 for a 10 foot piece. You know, because that's real.

What's the best size for CRT tv/monitor in your opinion?

But I do. I spend 45 min in the gym 5 days a week and I also do woodworking.

>top of the line HDMI cable.

This is a meme and cope. I have been lifting 4 days a week for 8 years and also do cardio every morning and I am still sad.
