As a class connoisseur i can explain it all to you.
First id like to point out the roles of a spellcaster which this character is most assuredly part of. A spellcaster is part of the backline of a party, They can either cast offensive magic, defensive magic or supportive magic. Then when not in combat they are mostly the voice of the party, being the smartest of the group meaning having to converse the most in the stead of the dumber party members. Spellcasters can do this is a number of ways which i will get to in detail later.
Now let us figure out what this spellcaster's role is in the party. We can figure out she is more inline with defensive and/or supportive because of 4 factors. A) her staff is curved and the head is made of a impled material which is curved. If it were offensive it would shine a lot and be made of more exotic material and be sharper. B) Her hat, it is flatter and wider than your usual hat. This is to reduce animosity as a pointed hat is normally more threatening.
C) the "armor itself is of the string bikini variant, however it is stretched over the body in such a way that it produces more underboob than other types of boob views and there is fabric in between each plump breast, supporting the area between so sweat doesnt cause rashes there. A more offensive female spellcaster would normally show more over the top cleavage and push her breasts up to make it look bigger just like a frog which coraks to make its chest much bigger.
The last point is the shoes. Notice how the soles are flat and you can see the most of the feet themselves? With flat soles the sorceress is not as tall so there is much less chance of being noticed by height compared to the warrior and is again less threatening.
My major complaint with this outfit is the lower robes. The metal ring is at a very incovenient position for giving mobility to the spellcaster. meaning that if she wear to find herself in an unfortunate situation it would be harder to run away

If you want some good training beforehand play DT2 in Japanese, it got me used to the surprisingly verbose script both games have.
Though in my case I went back and played TH2, AD, then DT1 before finally getting to DT2-2, I really learned a whole fucking lot in those 6 months it took me to get through all of that
Just keep at it, you'll eventually get to the point where you're just looking up the odd word that sometimes comes up and reading fluently otherwise
