ITT: We improve retro games

>Add a banking system where your coins are deposited after every map
>Can buy and sell items
>You can use your coins to bypass obstacles on the map and buy bonus areas - maybe make mini games something you can buy into playing

>you can buy these coins with real money
Ruined it for you OP

>you get killstreaks for goomba kills

>Add grinding bro
No
>But bonus areas!
You can have them without useless padding, you know, like it already happens in these games

lol what if mario smoked weed xD

>>Add grinding bro
>No

How is that grinding? You're collecting coins, something the game already rewards you for. Learn your gaming terminology.

>add bosses that are statistically impossible to beat unless you either grind enough coins or buy them with real money
Checkmate, stupid ass gamers

Release this and 2 with online play.

This isn't a great idea, unless the game already has a shop system, it shouldn't be added. Imagine a Mario World where you could buy 2 caps before each level. Madness.
Aint got no tiddy, have shortstack ass.

This is honestly a terrible change to SMB3. Shameful.

What's wrong with it? And be thorough, I've thought about this a lot.

But it'd based on IN GAME coins you earned from play, no monetization

>Banking system
Relatively harmless, but coins are really only used to get 1UPs in SMB3 so a pointless change.
>Buying and selling items
A big part of what makes older Mario games so rewarding is the scarcity of items. New Mario games throw items at you which reduces the value of them. When you got a leaf or frog suit in Mario 3, you tried your hardest to not lose it, and if you did, you were fucking pissed because there wouldn't be one for another couple levels. Adding the ability to buy items gets rid of that aspect of the game which is honestly one of its biggest appeals.
>Using coins to bypass obstacles and buy bonus areas
The maps are designed in a way that forces you to explore levels to discover hidden paths, areas, and bonus areas. Having some a way to bypass that negates part of the challenge. Every level just becomes sprinting to the end earning as many coins as possible so you can just skip parts of the game.

Your suggestions to "improve" SMB3 sound like they come from someone who grew up playing New Super Mario Bros, which are designed a lot worse than older Mario games.

Ahem, have you ever played Shovel Knight?

And if item scarcity is important, just increase the prices.
