Yeah some supports are locked behind story progression. If it's saying that, you have to progress the story more to see the next part. There's also some supports that will become unavailable if you don't do them before a certain point.

It's legitimately good, only major problems is that the graphics could be better for the hardware and it's on the easy side, but we do have Lunatic mode coming in a free update

Best FE game in 10 years. Heads and shoulders over the 3DS titles, it's easily a Top 5.

It's the best nu emblem but it's fairly easy. However it's also fairly comfy, so if you just want a chill FE experience this is a good one for that.

I thought the school setting would dumb down the game, specially since the character designs are a bit lackluster.

I played every FE since FE6 and it's top 3 IMO. The others being Path of Radiance and Shadows of Valentia. The whole school thing is pretty different from the other FE games, so that could be a major turn-off. You can skip much of the long-winded school stuff if you don't like it, but I'm not sure if that makes the game enjoyable.

How effectively does automating the months passing and tutoring work for making usable units? Can I literally play maps back-to-back by automating everything and not have a useless team?

It's only like that in part one, part 2 is your normal FE kingdom battle royale with different paths depending on the house picked.

The school stuff is kinda nice. Allows a small breather between battles and it has enough features/stuff to do on the campus for it to make it a little worthwhile.

Yes, it might help to get one of the requirements, the stat one could be easy from random growths, not sure. I've recruited multiple characters without hitting their requirements or only hitting one. I got Hilda with a C support, D in Axe and 20 in Charm.

Yes. Every student I've raised up to Rank B either asks to join my house at some point in the month. It also lowers their recruitment requirements down to Rank D's, meaning you can snag them that way rather then waiting for the trigger.

Support too b basically let's them overcome their stat autism to join you is why.

In a parallel universe they went FE4 and Dimitri and Edelgard fucked.

As of Chapter 12 I can say this.
Monsters have two tiers of Armor. Solid yellow, and 'broken' yellow. Solid yellow requires two strikes to break that part, and broken yellow takes 1 hit. You must break all four sides for the armor to fully break and get the steal.
Monster based Combat Arts break Solid Yellow in a single hit.
It's also advantageous to use gambits that attack multiple slots, as you can break more parts off of them, and from what I've seen, can break solid yellow parts (at least the first block)

I think it's straight damage without gambits or monster killers, not a set number of hits

I feel like I’m missing out on some recruiting. I’ve messed up but not prioritizing gardening on free days apparently and I’ve been using Edelgard as a tank which has been hampering other units from leveling up in combat.

Authority is one of the best skills in the game, if not the best. The Paralogues give you some absolutely busted battalions.

You convince them to join you by having high skills in what two categories they want (like strength and lances) how high it is depends on how good of a support you have.
Like for instance I got Ingrid to join my team with Flyer skill of E+ but only because I B supported her beforehand.
