What? I own a Switch and hacked it (then again I own a PS4 and PC as well).
It's moralfags that hate emulation because of piracy and they tend to be Nintendies because they don't know jack shit about computers because if they knew they'd know that some emulators require dumped system files to function.
Yes, you can pirate those as well, but emulation is 100% legal if you dump your own shit and you should if you care about preserving your games and wanting to play them long after your system and actual cartridges no longer work.

Improvements on Yuzu is what I'm looking forward to the most, that's for sure. I feel like Switch emulation will a big deal. That console seems to be the one that will get all the new "niche" nip shit like Rune Factory games and Etrian Odyssey(?)

I love emulation. It allows me to be a lazy fuck and keep my old consoles in good condition because I rarely use them. Also thanks to emulation I can play all my old games in higher resolution and better framerates.

I wish Vita3K could run more games by now because my Vita is quite old now and already shows signs of prolonged use and it dying because I've been using it as my portable emulation machine for so long. I'm ready to pack it in its box and play Vita games on PC instead, but Vita3K is not ready at all, despite being worked on for quite a while. Only 2 days ago did it manage to boot Persona 4 Golden but that's just it... Booting and nothing else.

People pirate more on their hacked Switch than on yuzu or Ryujinx because those two can barely run games at good speeds unless you have a beast of a PC.
You need Switch product keys to emulate Switch games, something you can only get by hacking and dumping it from your Switch. Sure, again, you could just ask someone to share their keys file, but yuzu is 100% legal if you use it legally and that's why no company can do anything.
People who are willing to pay for their games will do so, others that don't or can't pay for games won't... It's a simple concept that people refuse to understand.

I've been running melonDS for a while and it's good for me.

Haven't checked their discord in a while but whenever BSoD made a yuzu video with his buzzwords the discord would always be full of retards for a day or two. Sorry for phoneposting, not at home atm.

desmume is the most compatible one while melonds is a close second. I'm using MelonDS for Devil Survivor and it actually emulates it better (no flashing 2d texts like desmume). Both are still being updated, so just pick the one you like best really.

MelonDS doesn't have fullscreen, so you have to play the games in a windowed mode, just so you know.

Yuzu is no replacement for the Switch anyway. All it can run well are 2D games and until either Vulkan or multicore are implemented you can forget about it.

I just installed the demon's soul's game folder thing to the emulator.. Do i have to keep the folder around after the game has been added to the emulator and that lengthy install bar finished?

you got the psn version didnt you. if you did youre retarded since it wont work. you need the disc version if you plan on playing it
additionally it goes wherever you want EXCEPT the /dev_hdd0/game/ folder because thats reserved for psn games. put it literally anywhere else

PSA to desmume standalone users on mac:

Apple is deprecating opengl in mac os, meaning it's only a matter of time before it gets the axe. You should switch to the software renderer ASAP so desmume will work in the future (under Preferences -> Emulation -> 3D Rendering as soft rasterizer). And you don't have to worry about performance, I've got a dual core i7-5650U 2.2 GHz and it works fine

Emulation is great. I prefer original hardware where possible but emulation has done more for game preservation and just gaming in general than almost any other factor. If it wasn't for emulation, many, many games would have been lost to time.
