Has anyone else noticed a ridiculous increase in skill level within the online playerbase? I used to be able to win easily 90% of my online races for most of the GP but now that it's over I can win maybe one in four or five races. I used to be easily the best player in most lobbies (and I'm still pretty competent, I can full-track USF every track in the game at least in theory) but now I'm encountering at least one speedrun-tier player in every single lobby, often two of them in one lobby. These guys are playing with speed characters of course, taking every corner perfectly with optimized driving lines, maintaining (U)SF for the entire race and leaving nitros and beakers in the scummiest places possible (bottlenecks and shortcut ramps etc.) making it impossible to catch them.

I had one race in Android Alley where I was driving in first place with a shield when someone used a clock. I thought I got an easy victory since I had a decent lead but the second place Crunch player caught me simply by driving normally and overtook me at the finish line, winning by less than a second. I kept SF for the entire race but I was still unable to keep that lead. This dude got CLOCKED in second place and he still managed to beat me without using any power ups. I'm encountering players of this skill level regularly in every single lobby. I've reached the point where using an accel character means that I'm actively hindering myself. Get hit at any point in the race? Unable to win anymore. Lose USF at any moment even just briefly? Unable to win anymore. Someone reaches a critical shortcut before me? Unable to win anymore because they'll just block it. Players maintaining USF for the entire race has become the new rule, not the exception. It's fucking crazy out there.

The port is fine. Obvious downgrade in graphics, especially in hand held form. But surprisingly no real drops from what I've seen, or at least nothing that would hinder my gameplay, and I've played for 150+ hours at this point.

The payout started off meh and has only gotten worse since launch and the extremely limited daily shop and how it rotates... I'd hate to a kid that gets the game 6 months to a year after launch and expect to unlock anything they particularly like.

Why is this such a big deal to everyone? I'm currently sitting at over 40k coins waiting for the new content. I bought all GP limited items from Nitro Tour and I'm going to buy all limited content from the upcoming GPs as well without paying anything. The rate at which you earn coins isn't even bad, I can easily get 30k in a week simply by exhausting my daily multipliers and nothing else. Nothing in the game is locked behind a paywall. If you're an idiot and want to pay real money for something you can get for free then that's on you, but any normal, sane human being can just ignore this "microtransaction" business since like I said, nothing is locked behind a paywall. I'd be joining the outrage with you if we actually had to pay real money to unlock something but that's not the case so I ask again, what's the big deal?

If microtransactions get added, then the prices start inflating and going up. It's going to become difficult for people not willing to spend money on the game to actually be able to buy shit.
