Let's slap 5 drastically different biomes into 1 region

>Let's slap 5 drastically different biomes into 1 region

Why did they start doing this?

because black/white are SOULLESS

didn't gen 3 have a desert even though most of the game is surrounded by water

Every game starting with RSE had a desert

literally has a desert solely because they wanted a place to put cofagrigus and krookodile

That was backed by real world science though

I love different biomes. It's why TES games are generally shit because there's barely any variety in the biomes. Meanwhile say, Paper Mario has unique biomes that's fun to look around in

Welcome to northern California. 1 hour drive can take you from alpine to dense forest to desert to city.

>Send 12 year olds without a day of schooling into a literal desert
>This is considered "sane"

Probably the one good thing about California desu

Does Japan even HAVE deserts?

Do they even HAVE pokemons?

They don't even have a volcano.

Your goal is to incorporate, at the point of the game's release, 17 different types of Pokémon, who are expected to have their own ecological niches and biomes, into a region with proper type balancing and accessibility. This may lead areas to seem a bit compact at times, but it's for a good cause.

Also worth noting, why would you think variety in area design is a bad thing?

They have one set of sand dunes in Tottori prefecture, the least populated, least visited prefecture.

If there weren't 5 drastically different biomes in the region you'd be complaining about the Pokemon variety

I hate when games do 1 biome of each to justify some snowy section and that's it. If you want all climates in one game, make a huge map with at least 3-4 biomes for each type.

They stopped giving a shit about realism when they stopped basing them in GLORIOUS NIPPON. Basically instead of actually doing research on the countries they use and their landmarks they shove in a bunch of gimmick routes and trainer stereotypes and call it a day.

>what is the rain shadow effect

because that's how real life world also works you know...?

Clearly you've never been to utah.

It is forests, mountains, and desert.

>Mountains, ocean, desert
That's basically Socal, or any non-shit coastal city. What shithole do you live in, OP?

Because they need to include the electric, forest, and icy areas for the Pokemon that evolve by location.

>the ghost of illinois

Unova is supposed to be America

>tfw want to live on a farm in the great plains but don't want to have to deal with tornados

Hawaii has deserts.

Do pokemon lay unfertilized eggs and do people eat them like chicken eggs and shit?
This is important, please answer
