I think it's the statue benefits and the renown. You can also use the renown on other things in ng+ like professor levels, skill upgrades or jobs without the requirements as well as some other stuff.

Regardless on my first playthrough lysithea 1 shots everything post items. With relic and the class upgrades/abilities she's just craps on anyone she targets.
