Storywise Therion's pretty weak.
He's pretty good for gameplay purposes though. Being able to open all purple chests right off the bat is pretty good, and stacking speed + giving him hunter makes him a debuff machine and his divine skill is damn good

Same dude. It is very comfy to play in handheld mode. But I kept getting worn out and goin back to actual retro games like Lunar and Suikoden.

The casual filter of Octopath is the fact that everybodies Chapter 1 is hot garbage, the real game starts after that.

Finishing a character's entire story gives you the chance to change your main character, which is important since the first character your stuck with can't be changed as the primary until you complete their story

The first one is unavoidable. If you really missed the other 3 short quests then it wouldn't take long to complete them if you are a high level.

You know exactly what you're going to get and it's great. The other best choice for main character. Fantastic story all the way up. Chapter 3's duel is hype beyond imagination.

A good girl with the best introduction. Her story is only okay, and gets pretty melodramatic at the end. It's at least a neat concept though, and broke the Chapter 4 formula which was very much needed.

The best boy, can do no wrong. Extremely powerful. A dopey man who just wants to be nice to everyone. An unsung hero with absolutely amazing stakes set for his final chapter. Ogre Eagle should not have been the second most hype fight in the game behind Erhardt, and yet it is.
>Therion
Doesn't have any reason to actually be with the party. Is a dick ass thief that is stupid and terrible. His Chapter 4 is tremendous though and almost makes up for being worst boy. Speaking of which...

An absolutely bland piece of nothing until she meets Alaic and Susanna, and then it becomes a flavoured piece of nothing. Then Redeye happens and it's the best part of the game.

It's immensely harder than anything else in the game and it's mandatory to fight those 8 babby bosses every time before you face it so just read up on how to prepare for it. Slogging through the bullshit for the fight itself is well worth it.
