Imagine it: >Christmas 1991: 10 years old >get a Sega Genesis and fall in love with it >Golden Axe II, Michael Jackson, Streets of Rage >Get introduced to Sonic the Hedgehog; hooked immediately >Have a blast in the Genesis life span; getting CD, 32X, SMS converter >Sony throws their hat in the ring with the Playstation >Sega Saturn looking promising >N64 and PS1 kick its ass; my brother let me play his n64 >Nothing for a while; start to get nervous that it's over >Get wind of the Dreamcast >I'm motherfucking stoked; figure I'll play this with my bro and gf through college and use it when necessary >9.9.99; a day I'll never forget: the day the Sega Dreamcast launched >Sonic Adventure, Soul Calibur, NFL2K, Tokyo Xtreme Racer, it was in-fucking-credible >Keep enjoying Library of games >March 4, 2000 >Playstation 2 is released as a DVD player that can play games >Keep faith and hold strong >March 31, 2001 >My gf cheated on me with my bro and they dropped out of college >check the web for Sega to lift my spirits >"Sega has announced that the Sega Dreamcast is now discontinued and will now focus on 3rd Party games" >I slumped and fucking cried >Everything I cared about was gone >Got back to my dorm and boxed my Dreamcast and put it in my old room where it remains to this very day
I didn't even bother playing games until I saw the 360 in 2005 and then when it came out did I become an XBRO. It felt similar to Sega, but not entirely
Fuck Sony and their cheap tactics to make a gaming DVD and BluRay player. I fucking hate Sony with every fiber in my being for that reason
The Dreamcast had everything to be an innovator for the future, but noooo, the DVD player was more important
Ever since that day, I've longed for Sega to come back in full force to beat the fuck out of Sony, but it may never happen. In fact, the cross play motivated me to buy a Switch and some games to kill the PS
Similar feels but I actually ended up getting a ps2 3 and 4,aswell as Xbox and other stuff. Why? Because I know it won't fail. I hate Sony as much as you for that same reason, but fuck me if it's not a sound investment. You get fucking decades of support from their machines, no exaggeration
Nathan Martin
I'm happy for you my man
You managed to move on better than I did, it doesn't help that I have severe anxiety and chronic depression
And my source of stability is gone
Maybe I should move on?
Connor Murphy
Even though Sega may not be in the right place currently, all the amazing games they did make can always be replayed and enjoyed.
>If I wasn't so loyal to Sega that is If you were you would have bought an OG XBOX since alot of dreamcast sequels and sega exclusives ended up there
Gabriel Evans
Are you fucking kidding me
Wow, I wasted so much of my life in a rut, shit
Well what are some good games as you say?
I sure will :)
Julian Barnes

Josiah Mitchell
Well I better get playing
I can't really show it, but you've made a difference in my mindset: there's hope even in small things like moving on
As long as you are still alive, you can still live
Parker Morgan
Enjoy fellow Sega bro.
Also the game Metropolis racer (i forget the actual name) on DC, its spirtual sucessor is the PGR series on Xbox. Those are good games if you like racing. But don't expect new ones.
