I love 14, but it does make me sad that the MMO has probably one of my favorite FF story lines. That said its kind of a story that was really only this impactful BECAUSE it was an MMO.
You spend 6 years (A realm reborn) with faceless black robed immortals who want to destroy the world, just because. 6 Years with basically evil for the sake of evil villains, and then give them so much depth all in one expansion its astounding. All while not even once retconning a damn thing about them. This shit was foreshadowed since the beginning and it makes me wonder how much they've really had planned since the beginning.
Also helps that Ryne is cute, the writing is fantastic, the music is spectacular and the world is incredibly interesting and cool to explore.

The problem with crafting is that you really only craft to craft more things. Very, very little of it plays into combat which makes the whole thing feel pointless to me. Like the crafting system in xiv isn't bad but it's not interesting enough to craft for hundreds of hours strictly for the sake of crafting

Quality of life improvements are strong when you lvl crafters. Materia slot your own equipment, pentamelds, repair gear inside instances, make your own raid gear for day 1 raids. food and pots, and make high value items early on and make millions.

SAM's Midare Setsugekka will now do 9999 potency at all times. SAM also has a new Iai attack that can only be activated when the enemy is below 20% hp, this attack will deal 9999 potency as well on top of bonus damage based off how much meditation the SAM has built up.
