FUCK OFF BACK TO Yea Forums

>0 agility means you can't hit the giant crab that hasn't moved from its spot with a large blunt object

330 days till sneEd3

sneed

????

>adult male is a senior citizen
>"""small""" creature

>fatigue completely depleted
>swinging bigass warhammer over and over

All sneed

yes, you didn't build your character correctly and you're pretty much larping as a senior citizen. stick to magic, kiddo.

>People actually defending Morrowind combat
Listen guys, Morrowind did a lot of things right. Combat was not one of them.

>I need to be 6'4 and have 300 pounds of muscle just to whack a hammer on a giant fucking crab
lmao morrowidiot

Combat works perfectly fine if you're not a fucking retard
>fatigue level determines hit chance, if you're tired you can't fight as well
>agility determines hit chance, the game explicitly tells you this
>weapon skill determines hit chance, it just makes sense
if you keep your fatigue in check and don't have shit agility/weapon skill, you'll kill things just fine

spamming click and hoping your attack is high enough is not a good combat system

short blades and spears are the optimal weapons for manlets who still want to melee

exactly what does this have to do with my point with grabbing a heavy blunt object and hitting it over a big, slow, and clunky crab creature

>he's not a spear chad

I'm going to do it

Attached: Oblivion 2019-07-20 11-30-03-27.jpg (1920x1080, 612K)

> be a oblivious oblivion oaf or skyrim sucker
> both games just jerk the player off and let them succeed at basically anything
> Morrowind forces you to pick some skills you will be decent at
> Use a spear even though you're only specialised to Bows
"Hurr durr why do I suck with a weapon I suck with because I didnt choose these skills :("
> pick a spell from a magic school you have like 5 points in
"Hurr durr why spell no work"

Skyrim and Oblivion coddle players by letting them do anything at any time, and be successful too.

bottom line nigger, it's the way the game works
pissing and moaning about how you can't hit anything when there is an explicit, functional way to hit things that you're deliberately ignoring is just being a shit head

you wouldn't play GTA and avoid using guns, then bitch about why you can't kill anyone

Attached: 1552882693446.jpg (398x500, 35K)

>LOOK GUYS I SAID THE S WORD AGAIN LOOOOOOOL

The problem isn't that things don't make sense. It's that there is no feedback from the game to make it seem like anything is really happening.
>Fatigue is low, you are tired
But I still swing the weapon with the same energy, it just lowers your accuracy number
>Agility determines hit chance
This was a dumb idea, it makes no sense to need agility to swing heavy shit
>Weapon skill determines hit chance
Sure that makes sense, but it's hit or miss. If you swing a
>Big ass fucking hammer
at an object that is standing still, you are going to hit it, not swing through it infinity times.

Like many ideas they had in Morrowind, the idea is there but the implementation is pants-on-head retarded. Combat was shit in Morrowind.

S'wit?

>"Putting numbers into thing makes you hit things"
>Dont put numbers into thing at all
"Why am I missing????"

Stop thinking of it realistically.

>Why is it literally impossible to hit anything with a straightforward weapon and is thus impossible to learn how to use it regardless how long you use it
You can do anything you want in Morrowind, regardless of how you build your character. The difference is you just need to break the training mechanic by casting a spell on yourself, or buy the levels legit since money is so easy to get.

>Combat was shit in *TES game*

Everytime I read this I just assume people dont get it and expect souls combat
Its an RPG people, not an action game.
Maybe its because I like turn based combat but I never had an issue with combat in any of these games
TW3 however that is a game that tries to be action and fails miserably

Just download the automatic hit mod if you don't know how agility and fatigue work or take your nigging elsewhere.

it's functionally the same as rolling in D&D, your character could have a fucking huge greatsword and still miss for any number of factors
what said hit it right on the head: skyrim and oblivion, even though I enjoy them both, spoiled the player and made combat too easy
they could have chosen to make your hit land every time, but the enemies wouldn't pose nearly as much of a threat, combat would have lost a lot of depth, and fatigue would have been functionally useless.

>j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-j-just c-c-c-c-cheat t-t-t-t-t-to r-r-r-r-r-r-raise y-y-y-y-y-your a-g-g-g-g-gility a-a-a-a-and f-f-f-f-fatigue!!!
fuck off

snigger

when did anybody say to cheat to raise your agility you stupid faggot?
your starting base agility and weapon skill (if you choose one, and you should have at least one) gives you more than enough chance to hit something if you don't run into combat completely exhausted
the game works fine, you're just too fucking stupid to play it

Attached: 1537417977683.png (1000x1000, 345K)

>be unlucky
>don't do rapid swings to make up for your unluckyness
>blame the game
cool

this is a roleplaying game that features dicerolls and levels
this is not a hack and slash
that is all that needs to be said, the same "this game sucks because i'm literally retarded" posts get made every single fucking day by the same people

> there is no feedback
>enormous green bar is empty
>skills say "5"
>agility says "30"
Lmao ok retard, do you need a fucking hand delivered letter telling you to train skills before trying to use them when you're exhausted?

should've been top-down instead of 3D first person

>the game works fine
it... really doesn't...

Attached: morrowindcombat.webm (640x360, 1.4M)

>not handling Keening with Wraithguard
OHHHH NO NO NO NO

post stats or gtfo

(you)

I don't really have a problem with the system, but the way it's presented is dumb and I don't think it's worth defending. The combat in Morrowind is not enjoyable in any sense, and it's even more retarded when you try to do something you didn't spec for.
I don't have a real problem with combat in other TES games Though I haven't played one earlier than Morrowind
There isn't really anything to "get", if you design your character in a certain way then you can use certain weapons. The problem is the presentation and the inability to do anything other than what you design your character around for no real reason. I also disagree that combat in Morrowind has any real depth.

>he actually destroyed the heart
look at him and laugh

Attached: stealing the heart.webm (800x600, 2.92M)

>Lmao OK retard, do you expect something to happen other than numbers and a bar that disappears?
Show me miss, show them dodge, show the swing slow down, show my character get tired in any real way. Show me fumble with a weapon I don't know how to use.
>why don't you train your skills instead of trying to train your skills?
Maybe the expectation that I can train a low level skill on a low level enemy isn't that bizarre?

>trying to do something you didn't spec for
yeah no shit
that's why you don't see knights summoning big fireballs and shit
>why can't I play this role that goes against the role I'm playing
>The problem is the presentation and the inability to do anything other than what you design your character around for no real reason
user, it's a ROLE PLAYING GAME
you play a role, your role has certain things they're good at, other things they're not good at.

Attached: 1564207514023.png (322x276, 205K)

"I don't know how to play an RPG! I only play action games!"

Go suck on your mom's titties if you cannot handle an RPG that has numerous factors that determine your ability to hit after Jamarcus and Tyrone are done with her.

Or just install the auto hit mod.

Or just quit your nigging.

nicotine is a stimulate, this isn't far off in terms of the alchemy if looked at scientifically

"Well well, look at the outlader pullin' up in his fancy imperial sailboat."
>I came here as a prisoner!

"Well pardon us, Mr. Colovian fur helm."
>I looted this helm from a dead bandit.

"Well la de lah Mr. House Telvanni slaver.
>Sorry but I believe in good mercantile skills."

"Teh! You're not gonna grow nothing at Hlaalo Manor, that's why Uryne Nirith abandoned it!"
>Oh what do you know?!

"I know your alchemy skill is up near 5.6 and you need 7-8 max to craft fortify intelligence potions"
>Oh that's just a superstition. You just watch me, I'll grow saltrice out there!

"Not if you're planting kwama eggs."
>DOH!

Attached: sn'eed.png (1164x652, 838K)

in fact, tobacco and tomatoes are in the same genus
it's part of the reason you're not suppose to eat tomato stems

I have the exact same problem, user. I know that it's meant to be a D&D styled dice roll, the problem is that it just looks *really* stupid. Shooting an arrow at an enemy in a tabletop game, rolling low and then missing makes sense, you just accept that as it is, but when that happens in Morrowind it's harder to drop the suspension of disbelief because you're actively aiming the bow yourself and shooting the arrow right through someone's head, but it magically rolled a number and you missed. It just looks fucking stupid in a first person real time RPG since there's zero feedback as it's treated as if it's a tabletop game.

Maybe shit like Dark Souls just spoiled me with actually good combat, because playing TES is fucking painful nowadays.

I need this voiced.

>It's a ROLE PLAYING GAME
And so you can only act in the boundaries of the role that you set up in the beginning of the game?
>Other things they're not good at
Man I'm not good at fighting, and I've never held a sword in my life but if you gave me one I could probably kill you and your entire family without training. Justify why you can't stab a crab half your size or a worm standing right in front of you. I understand not being a good swordsman, I don't understand how you can be so retarded you can't even hit something right in front of you.

>so you can only act in the boundaries of the role you set up in the beginning of the game?
YES, that is your role, that's your job, and what you're predetermined to do, at least at first
you can level things independently of your starting skills but it's much harder because you're not naturally good at it

and alright user fine if you want to argue that any retard could pick up a sword and stab something you're right, and you CAN do that in Morrowind, but as expected you'll have great difficulty with that because you're not skilled in the weapon yet
I'm not saying you're not allowed to use weapons in Morrowind you're not good with, you'll just be really bad at it until you level your skill with them

That's exactly it. I understand it's a roll, and I understand why in the context of numbers it makes sense that my point blank swing through your body didn't land.
I just feel like in the context of how the game is presented it's shit. It doesn't make the game unplayable by any means, Morrowind is probably my favorite of TES series. But combat in it is dumb.

why do i love simpson characters as dark elves so much

Attached: 880996.jpg (640x480, 44K)

It's an RPG so your stats actually have a purpose unlike in skyrim. If you're too dumb to build a character properly, you shouldntbe playing.

well excuse us mr. gucci healing ring

I think you underestimate how strong a giant crabs exoskeleton would be.

Yeah, I'm thinking Sneed finna get dabbed on by Mask

Attached: I said Sticked not Sneed.jpg (281x310, 60K)

you can actually create IRL tomato-tobacco hybrids

Oh no, it definitely is. The problem is that when you talk about it people pretend you don't understand how to play a role or know that it's a dice roll. I get both, but even when I level a weapon accordingly, have good agility and not out of fatigue, it still feels like shit because there's no feedback to missing, it's as crude as your weapon phasing through someone's body. And that's precisely why I don't even use weapons in Morrowind, I just go pure mage. If I hit something, I hit something. If the spell failed to cast, whatever, at least the game isn't lying to me saying I missed when I had my crosshair dead center on the enemy.
