Look at Joker if you want to see an example of a character that had a lot of potential but ended up having a pretty boring moveset. I doubt Sakurai would do Monster Hunter much justice, he’d give them a greatsword and call it a day.

Look at Hero and King K Rool. Both are characters with lots of cool stuff and is pretty emblematic of the series. It would be retarded to make him just big sword man, because there are so many other weapons in MH, and there are so many other things that you do in MH besides just swinging a greatsword.
