Their own ceo stated they finished the deal while the preorders were still going on which meant they were negotiating the deal for a while even before that all the while stating you could have it on Steam if you wanted knowing full well they had no intention of that happening. They changed the control scheme for dual analogs since Nexus, and the 360 games changed it again so it's not like AC 6 will be the first to change it up. I think there'll be a classic scheme and some modern scheme

Mechwarrior is great because of how shitty the technology is. The shitty way space travel works is probably the most interesting way to justify why the universe is fractured as fuck. Most Sci-Fi universe fuck up the space travel and make it cheap to fly around; Star Wars, Star Trek, and Mass Effect are examples of this. Battletech decided to make space travel fucking hard and slow. Taking weeks, months, or sometimes half a year to travel to some places. Even transmissions follow this shit so a war could break out and it would be half a year before some far flung frontier planet hears about it. The choice to take that route was an amazing bit of writing that I haven't seen elsewhere.

Yes, I actually played Battletech multiple times. Putting the lame story aside for now, I found the mercenary management stuff to be extremely underwhelming. Using only one lance at a time was so fucking lame. The core gameplay loop was good but the lack of mech variety was incredibly disappointing.

I personally don't give a fuck about what many people here REE'd about when the game came out. The entire extent of the SJW shit in the game is you can choose whatever gender you wanted and whatever little icon picture you felt like. Doesn't matter to me. The fat muslim woman didn't bother me either because I'm fine with seeing a female in my video games I don't want to fuck. Actually, I wish she was more of an offensively stupid SJW self-insert. I wish she was more anything, all the characters were so fucking boring and the story forgets that the universe is supposed to be morally grey until the very end. All I wanted was to be a heartless, successful mercenary but they kept acting like I was working for house arano because I wanted to do the right thing.
