Should I play the castlevania games...

Should I play the castlevania games? I like the genre but I've never played any of the original ones because I'm too put off by emulation.

There is no "should". Do you want to play vidya or not?

Yes but emulation is a hassle.

FUCKING HOW?

1) Get a rom
2) Get a popular emulator
3) Load rom into emulator , press start
4) Play the fucking videogame

I literally just taught my 5 years old niece how to do it yesterday. Surely you can manage too.

>99% chance of something breaking
>roms and good emulators are hard to come by

That might have been true 2 decades ago. Emulators have long fixed most issues.
Roms are widely available thanks to torrents.

Come on user. Don't make me believe that a kid who can barely read is your intellectual superior.

There is literally a Castlevania collection floating around Yea Forums that contains a ton of roms and an emulator that plays all of them. It's idiotproof.

Where? And most of that shit is going to be fucking viruses or not working.
>have to scour through dozens of thousands of shitposts to find it

Literally on /t/ RIGHT FUCKING NOW.

>trusting /t/ not to give me a virus

Don't bother, he's a lost cause. He doesn't want to play video games, he just wants to be a tool on Yea Forums.

let me tell you this, i was born to tell you that aria of sorrow and symphony of the night are simply amazing games, you can skip the rest but play these 2

Fuck, fine, I'll spend a few hours finding all the emulation shit.

>emulation is a hassle.

Forgot to ask, which one should I start with?

Rondo of blood

its much easier to emu aria of sorrow on gba, you should pick it up first

visualboy advance is a great gba emu for pc with some cool filters to enhance them gba grafix

Never mind, I give up. I have 0 idea which of these sites are legit.

Just play SoTN and don't bother with the rest.

Just download retroarch, they even put in on steam for absolute fucking retards like yourself that are scared of anything past the handful of websites you've known all your life.

That doesn't seem safe.

>Should I play the castlevania games? I like the genre
What genre? What castlevania games?

Castlevanias. The old ones

Sure. Which Castlevanias? There are different kinds of gameplay in the series.

Good meme
>Skips Bios pack
>Download wrong ROM version of the game
>Launches game, flickering and broken Audio
>Read 10 forums threads until you find the right solution

Not a hassle at all.

Every Castlevania on Nintendo consoles is emulator-rom-start
It's only KIND of a hassle on PS1 and PS2 emulation. PSP emulation works too
The only wrong ROM version is the american CVIII. The japanese version is superior and patching a translation is really easy

That might be, I've only emulated Sotn and BotW so far and both were a pain in the ass, especially BotW.

For SotN just play Dracula X Chronicles on the PPSSPP and unlock it.
For BOTW, what did you expect? It's a game on a current gen console.

Finding the right BIOS is easy and mednafen just works

Most of them are good.
Not sure if you just bait to get a CV thread going or that lazy but Konami released a lazy port of Dracula X Chronicles (original SotN+Rondo of Blood). There is also the collection which includes the classic games which released a few months ago
