there's absolutely no point talking about console game engines you nerd

this, fpbp and /fucking thread you dumb retarded stupid idiot

Engine is the reason why pc crybabies will never, ever get Death Starding so I like it

>movie engine
lmfao

this is false and if you truly believe this then you must remove yourself from the genepool or humanity is doomed

it's a tool
what else do you want me to tell you?

Youre a tool
what else do you want me to tell you?

He will never forget that strand

fuck him and his stupid fucking game, I hope it flops, although if I were a gambling man I wouldn't bet against normies being stupid.

>Movie engin-

Attached: Horizon Enemy Encounter.webm (1280x720, 2.97M)

hey that movie looks great, still in cinemas?

oh shit sorry, didn't realize at first this was a game, that's on me, should have known better seeing how I'm on Yea Forums, the e-celeb general must have thrown me off.

Considering this is a very well put question and a legitimate one, and this thread is being unnecessarily trashed by snobs, I shall reply to the friendly OP.

It is very nice looking. I was amazed at what kind of detail you could get from distant objects in HZD and I found out they essentially load stuff as you pan your camera so behind your camera there is blank wall until you move around to see it.

I have not played many game son it, but it seems to be a very nice engine and I think Death Stranding is going to be great on it. We should all be looking forward to it I feel.

yikes

It's great at rendering lifeless, static worlds and that's about it.

the best

Attached: ige2h3lw61jy.jpg (1920x1080, 178K)

sure the life of the world is down to the devs to populate it fairly well but not over cram it and to make it seem overall realistic?

Have any other games used it? I heard the Horizon DLC improved some minor issues with it but I haven't played anything past the base game.

utter shit engine
there are last gen games with better LOD and draw distance

Attached: Horizon Zero Dawn™_20180505114357.jpg (1920x1080, 577K)

OP is a confirmed retard

Decima? Decima dick!
*unzips dick*

>base game
I have only played HZD itself no DLC. I am unaware of when Decima is being used elsewhere as I don't really follow it but I have been following Death Stranding a bit and I am impressed. I don't think it is widespread.

Killzone and that Before Dawn game I think

t. retard

This pic was run through photoshop by some neogaf user, it's not in game

Decima is a god tier engine for what it's doing, which is to make okay-at-best looking games run on absolute dog shit hardware.

>crushing those blacks

Attached: 1539173539651.jpg (719x719, 70K)

do midgets have tigher pussies?

That's not the engines fault. The PS4 is a weak piece of shit. Imagine running the engine on the mighty X or even a PC.

no but ur mom does

>That's not the engines fault. The PS4 is a weak piece of shit.
AssCreed
GTA5
RDR2
Witcher3

all have better LOD and draw distances, some of them also look better
RDR straight up BTFOs it
AC Origins is also a shitton better
none of them needs to use fog covering 90% of your screen to hide the shitty graphics

pretty sure there is more than what i listed
so fuck off basednigger

Attached: Horizon Zero Dawn™_20180505233235.jpg (1920x1080, 392K)

It called photo mode dummy

Attached: 1533395520669.jpg (1920x1080, 173K)

looks pretty alright but i feel frostbite and apex engine deliver much better forest environments
while also running 60fps

Attached: 1.jpg (2000x2000, 3.63M)

decima looks good in trailers, it's a really decent engine that will never get to shine and be showcased properly because it's made to run on dog shit hardware

Attached: 1557630100648.jpg (3840x2160, 2.75M)

LOOK AT ALL THAT DETAIL

Attached: hzdrdr.jpg (1920x2160, 943K)

>Yea Forums getting triggered by Horizon again

Attached: 645645853456684787856.png (402x390, 355K)

Well that is just like your opinion man.

Attached: 1561606751246.jpg (2560x1440, 3.61M)

HZD has better detail up close.

Attached: 1553844691395.jpg (3840x2160, 1.11M)

Based Horizon poster

at 19 FPS

nah, neogaf was stitching multiple of the same photo through shop to supersample them & then color correct them

this is why you see multiple 4K uncharted 4 photo's around before it even had a pro patch (though pro was 1440p)

thanks for the kek
also
>photomode
doublekek

Attached: Horizon Zero Dawn™_20180506152410.jpg (1920x1080, 486K)

that's how LOD works, yeah

Yes, but those games look pretty bad in comparison. It's a tradeoff.

Wait wasn’t Guerilla Games the dev team for Killzone? Lmao is Death Stranding another Killzone? Lmaoooo

literally 0 interactivity
nothing reatcs to the player actions

Attached: 1537895178821.png (240x240, 69K)

>those games look pretty bad in comparison
maybe Witcher 3, but no not really
especially since also none of these have terrible animations like HZD

Biggest thing I noticed about the engine is the precise hitboxes on the robots and terrain. You could jump over tail swipes, run up larger robots and surf down a river on a dead robot corpse.

more like horizon zero drawn distance

huh

Attached: 1545960435576.jpg (3840x2160, 2.18M)

RDR2 engine and Snowdrop are the best current engines and they are both multiplat so sonyfats cant even try

Far Cry is also pretty good

Attached: fc5.jpg (3840x2160, 1.88M)

based
>vocaroo.com/i/s0grTEXhThET

Foliage moves if you pass by it

well as far as i know hzd is the only game out using it

that game played very smoothly so it seems to be a good engine

Wow amazing “game” fellow game aficionado! Can’t wait to watch-I mean play- how the grass moves!

So much butthurt. Why?

it literally doesnt

plebs

youtube.com/watch?v=zKu1Y-LlfNQ

>Kojima is re-defining plagiarism as strands

>All this technology
>Not a single game has shipped with a proper implementation
Embarassing. I'll take Decima any day over that shit.

Attached: 1535814606580.jpg (1080x1920, 303K)

no it doesn't, not even the tall grass does

everything there is static with 0 interaction
so like HZD but better graphics

HZD has destructible environments.

show me where a robot demolishes a house

youtu.be/T5Xx3MdqdgM?t=351

youtu.be/T5Xx3MdqdgM?t=382

the big house is literally undamaged retard

It's shit.

>Two seperate houses get destroyed
>"O-oh shit!! I-i have to change the goalpost!!"

we saw shit like this on 2012,2013,2014 and no games yet to use it

Attached: 091008_Shredder_02_JN.jpg (1400x642, 266K)

>a woodlog and a small shack gets destroyed
>LOL TOTALLY A HOUSE
lmao

How much stuff is actually really going on there though? Horizon has a lot more, and more complex entities to animate. With the little to no pop in, that stuff has to be backloaded in case the player just so happens to go that way. Horizon just has more going on at any given moment.

>prebaked destruction

Attached: 1544212515042.png (644x800, 15K)

sounds like the kind of thing you would only know if you actually browsed neogaf, user...

>Horizon just has more going on at any given moment.
topkek
RDR2 has like 10x more going on, so dont even try

PS4Pro outputs the image in 4k so the built-in capturecard snaps in 4k even if the game is running in 1080p boost mode.

Attached: 1538944019709.jpg (3840x2160, 1.2M)

Really? Mind explaining what all that might be?

Horizon Zero Dawn have the best graphic on consoles today
BTW i have GTX TITAN XP PC
youtube.com/watch?v=WxSGbqQzw8w

there is 4k shots of UC4 before Pro was even out

scripted

pretty sure tall grass sway

Attached: 1.webm (1152x720, 2.93M)

RDR2

Never seen em. I remember posting some of the first 4k shots of Uncharted 4 (almost 3 fucking years ago jesus) but I don't remember stitches.
This is kinda pathetic guys. Big rocks also split into pieces and in The Frozen Wilds there are some rock platforms that float on water you can knock around and even break apart.

Attached: 1536626276119.jpg (3840x2160, 2.72M)

it's good but not like HZD

Attached: Capture.png (1312x1300, 2.21M)
