BotWfags eternally demolished

>Warframe is 172
why

Yeah, unlike console players who have impeccable taste.

take in mind that for people to be able to rate a game it has to own the game.
and valve gifted portal 2 and other of its games, thats why they are so up on the charts.

What are you trying to imply?
The lowest score on that chart is 92%, with only the highest voted ones there, and even then it's 250 games
Have you even played 250 games in your life?

>Have you even played 250 games in your life?
sadly, only counting the xbox360 i do have played around 150, so probably im around 500 games, easily.

>open site
>"250 best games on steam"
oh yes i'm sure all of these games are the ABSOLUTE BEST
i don't even feel the need to look at the list, i just care about the games i like

Should be a bigger number

250 is a lot, with the amount of genres and styles of games on this I just don't see the point of it.
It's like making a "top 1000 animal species" list, it's needlessly large and will likely cover most animals that people already know of

>terraria in 3rd
I see nothing wrong with this.

>"impartial steam rankings based on reviews"
>proceeds to put a 98% and 97% rating above a 99% rating within the first 5 games
Impressive, I've never seen someone give up on their own premise that fast

ironically, by not seeing anything wrong with it you turned out to be wrong yourself

>8. Euro Truck Simulator 2
Is it really that good of a game?

Attached: 1543015882600.png (540x721, 243K)

its based on user ratings data took directly from steam, most of them are indeed the best, but probably not all.

Must suck not being able to read.

If you like truck simulators yeah, you can say it's the best one out there

no
it's a meme game
in fact you can barely even call it a game, it's pointless

you mean pc users

Good at what it does.

what is wrong with this?
Top 5 are all very arguable. Top10 even.

>Are all steam users retarded ?
Yes. That should have been obvious.

I really feel like this game could use a switch port, or even a whole new game. Was comfy and fun as fuck with friends

>if game A has a 90% approval rating with 1000 votes and game B has a 100% approval rating with only 100 votes, which game is better?
Well let's see, 100% is better than 90%, so 100%. Gee that was fucking easy. But it's not about which games are good, it's about which games are good and also appeal to the largest demographic and spents lots of money on its marketing or got lucky and went viral. Their method of calculating rankings is how you get shit like skyrim nearly 150 places above morrowind, because skyrim appeals to a more broad demographic even though morrowind is objectively better to people who would be interested in both games. This list is literally meant to draw attention and stroke peoples egos for playing "the best games", not actually point them in the direction of the best games. Anything with less than maybe 1000-2000 reviews shouldn't be counter, but past that it's fair game people have had their chance to leave negative reviews and left positive ones instead because it's just a good game.

first thing you listed is objectively wrong, that's for sure

tf2 is actually pretty shit. in ranking it belongs only in top 50.

Totally acceptable placing.

DmC being in that list is pretty surprising

what is this score based on?

Wasn't expecting that one but it's a nice surprise

Every mission variant is waiting 5 minutes for something to happen.

Is this game actually good ?
I tried it a few weeks ago and didn't get that far.

It has nice characters and pretty unique puzzles
Worth the $9 I spent to get it day 1

It's like or dislike. If a game has a 96% like ratio, it means 96% of the people who played it liked it. This is going to yield different results from a 1 to 10 rating.

yes but you can clearly see the ranking is not sorted just by % of positive reviews as Terraria at third place has 97% and Factorio below it has 99%.

I thought you meant Payday 2, but that's 10 minutes for every objective.

>Starbound 129.
I honestly didn't expect it to be on the list at all, but it fills me with joy that people with low jank tolerance can't stand the sight of it.

>Terraria is near the top and has some of the best comfy threads that are also not frequent so they don't spam up the board
Absolutely based. I guess it really is a good game.

What album is that, what were you doing on discogs little boy...

Someone give me a quick rundown on Mirror

Empire at War being in the top 250 is great how about we talk about empire at war instead pls

THERES NO APACHE IN TERRERIA

I'd love to say that Chucklefuck fixed it with their newest update, but I couldn't contain my laughter typing it out. It's most likely people who played during the free weekend and didn't get close to finishing it before buying it. A small percentage of people still playing the game will ever experience the true power of mod autism for maximum comfort in space.

see When you're dealing with data that has a varying, some with low, number of samples, it's important to smooth the data. If you simply used the averages as is, what would happen is that only games with less than 100 reviews would appear on the list, with all of them being 100%. These games, in the vast majority of cases, only have that high a rating simply for the reason that they have a low amount of samples. So you use things like bayesian averages to eliminate them.

I'm not sure what the exact function they use for it is. There's a page for the ones they tested, but it uses old data so you can't cross reference them with the main page data.

Well.. what's your top 250, champ?

yeah witcher 3 should be at 99% tbqh

Huh

Well yes

And yet it's the second most played game.

What's wrong with that list OP?
What's your top 250 games on Steam?

I haven't bought a game in my entire life.

>you need to buy games to play or rate them
Based retard.

A lot of the stuff on there is the type of niche item that you'd only buy if you know you'd love it, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that most of the people that bought it gave it a perfect score.

Free + Pushed super hard by (((modern game critics)))

Niche usually means non-popular and obscure. I'm pretty sure all of these games are the most popular games on Steam

literally flavour of the day

Attached: risk of rain 2.png (894x46, 17K)

>Games are niche enough to never attract attention of real scrutiny or so popular and mainstream safe they drown out any real scrutiny.

I hate to say it but that's fucking politics

No game on there is below 95% and you're quoting a game that was massively popular with normies
Also it's at number 18

Did you have to go to number 65 to find something you dislike or are you just unintentionally retarded

>Have you even played 250 games in your life?
If you count flash games I've probably played more than 2000

I'm not that guy but fuck, putting a number on it would be hard

293 steam fucking games, something like 240 I could say I have actually played.
Let's say a dozen roughly for 6 consoles. It's higher and lower depending on console but I'd say it conservatively rounds out to a dozen each. So 72.
PC games in general I'd say around 50. Probably more but thinking about it and chopping off games I only played briefly or flash which I'm not goddamn counting.

Over 300 for me, that's more video games than books. Shameful.

>no Rome total war
>no worms armaggedon
Plebs

Don't know about know, but surely people spamming reviews during the Summer Sale helped somehow

>literally no other RTS has done space and land connected by a quasi-4X mode since
It fucking hurts bro.

I've played at least 229, that's just those I have indexed, actually should be way over 300 even if you don't count insignificant shit.
Maybe I shouldn't be on Yea Forums.

I normally don't like simulators but I enjoyed it. Its very good at making you feel like you are traveling around Europe. Not a game I would play often but enjoyable for what it is.
