I think the 4 wall break/reveal came at almost the perfect time. At most I think the stuff with the gamefiles could of been brought to the players attention more easily. I had to be told by a friend to keep the directory open in another monitor. Anyways, DDLC is creepy yeah but it never goes into overt horror beyond some jumpscares. Its mostly just unsettling and tense. Most of its horror comes from the player drawing their own thoughts about existentialism through the interaction of game narrative, genre and mechanics
