Granted, it was already dated when it released.

It's fine once you get the hang of the tank controls, but yeah, it definitely shows it's age.

The PS2 Tenchu games have aged very well on the other hand.

Agreed. The combat was horrible even for it's time, which wouldn't be an issue if the game didn't force you to use it frequently.

Unironically Ocarina of Time

2000 Zoomer here, only grew up with a N64. Everything else was modern shit (PS3, Wii, GameCube & Xbox 360). So no nostalgia bias at all

The only Tenchu that aged well is Tenchu Z.

ITT: we bait people into the thread by posting objectively false statements

pokemon is for babies

except it actually is for babies

Objectively wrong. WoH got rid of the tank controls, holds up visually, and actually feels good to play. The fact that the camera is awkward in claustrophobic spaces is the only dated thing about it. Only 1 and 2 have aged significantly despite them still being good games overall.

Game has some serious soul. Aged pretty well.
Also when this song kickes in at 1:00.

RDR2. I can't believe that people used to think it was some sort of masterpiece.

Z did not age well though. WoH and FS > Z

Literally nothing you said is true.

It did too because it uses a modern control scheme and the gameplay loop was the most developed, looks pretty good still too.

Everything he said is true.

incorrect

games don't age

Weak bait, go play Fortnite, you fucking fag.

>webm unrelated

webm related, clunky dated controls

>implying I'm not playing through em right now

they "aged" just fine m8

>Play Tenchu as a pre-teen
>I'm a super sneaky ninja assassin oh my gosh this is the best
>Never EVER skip WoH's intro
>Use dial-up to get on the net and find cheat codes like a cool kid to unlock items
>Start climbing and running along cinderblock walls, only break leg once
>Throwing rope at the corners of the neighbors' houses and only breaking a couple windows
>Lost my v-card with the one goth chick who also had a PS2 and tied here hair back to be Ayane
>Do the dumb naruto chakra hand symbols during recess before throwing the dodgeball
>Take a masseuse course because of Teshu
>Hiding in closets, sheds, under beds and shimmy onto the roof to spook family at all hours of the day and night

What a good franchise.

cringe

>no more snappy animations, everything is sluggish
>no more crouch cancel, character takes 3 years to recover from a jump
>no more 180ยบ turn
>have to sheathe sword back before moving left/right when hanging on a ledge
>actually looks uglier than WoH with all that bloom and the ugly models
>only a few stealth kill animations
>takes 3 years to get the grappling hook out
>fucking 30 fps
>rehashes the only few stages it has for 50 missions
>stages are open, but they all look same-ish
>light system is almost useless when everything happens outside in broad daylight or during a full moon
>can't even destroy light sources

Nah, that gameplay loop was shit, the controls weren't as fluid as you thought and it had half the contents from past games. That the crouch button in past games made you sneak on the wall when you were kind of close to it and you had to press the opposite direction to get out didn't outweigh all the positives the controls from the PS2 games had.

Also, what did you really try to prove with the first webm? Tank controls? Only when crouching; WoH has Mario 64-style controls. Graphics? Like I said, Z is actually pretty ugly.

never in my life seen someone this wrong

>"no u wrong"
>no counter-argument
Z just doesn't hold up compared to past games.

>expecting me to read and then argue with someone defending the stance that the PS2 Tenchu's haven't aged poorly
Bro, it's just delusion. It's like you're saying the polar opposite of the truth.

Attached: tenchu.jpg (800x600, 93K)

You know, I'm willing to go back to Z if you can prove me wrong.

The PS1 Tenchu games haven't "aged poorly" either.

I don't care what you do bro.

Now this is shitposting.

play shinobidobido

Hideous and clunky game, don't understand the praise.

Splinter Cell was never good. These games were depressing as hell even. So dark, so generic. Very mediocre games. The first game has to be the most saddest game I have ever played. It is such a product of its time. I struggled to get through it. Everything is so dark and drab. Just made me want to kill myself. I've never played any other games that put me in such a low mood like Splinter Cell games did.

Psychonauts

cringe

So you don't care enough about Z, after all.

Now that's a better game than Z.
