You can get Max style rank just by shooting alone

i only played dmc4 and DmC but i dont like that gimmicky color system forcing you to switch weapons

The weapons are ehh aside from Osiris and the mall ninja glaive and the color shit gets boring and annoying

Stiff animations, focus on no-risk grapple, no lock on, unbalanced weapons, unlimited airtime makes every mook fight a breeze, no lock on, E&I have been reduced from the best designed videogame handguns to anorexic abominations in both design and effectiveness, no lock on, stupid double input moves when there are two (three) dedicated dodge buttons, enemy art design is crap, enemy gameplay design is even more dicks with color coded cunts, NO LOCK ON FOR A THIRD PERSON ACTION GAME FOCUSED ON MELEE

Would be pretty good if not for the fucking colour coded enemies.

>dumbed down combat in general
>max style by using the axe smash like twice
>two dodges for some reason
>can't combo properly sometimes because the game decides you have to use X color weapon on X color enemy
>no proper lock-on
there's more wrong with it and some of these things were fixed with Definitive Edition as I understand it, but it's still a shitty DMC game

If it didn't have the name attached it would've been fine

>Colour coded enemies
>Rank system being the specular opposite of DMC2, everything gives you max rank almost instantly
>Worst bosses and enemies in the series by a long shot
>Worst OST
>El Donte
>Second worst weapon roster and frankly DMC2 still has better animations somehow, not to mention the guns, only gets a pass for having more than one melee weapons unlike DMC2
>No lock on
>Atrocious fucking story in a storylite franchise
>Fucking BDSM Sparda
>Massive fuck you to the fans in any possible way
>Bigger dick
I unironically prefer playing DMC2 and consider it a better game at the end of the day, because as much as unfinished, flawed and mundane it is at least it wasn't fucking intentional, and it still introduced a lot of cool stuff that ended up being implemented well in its successor, showing the intent was there, I can't say it for DmC, it's one of those games that are actually so deliberately offensive it sours what little decent elements it has.

I cant honestly, the gameplay is really not that bad.
Some of the weapons are kinda boring to use though, not a big fan of the Axe and those throwing blades were more of a tool than a weapon

I actually don't mind it and I personally prefer the brawler-type animations for the gauntlet weapon more than I do with DMC proper.
I like it more than Bayonetta, that's for sure.

I wouldn't go that far, DMC2 is still a worse game by all means regardless of intention and, removed from the context of the series proper, DmC doesn't necessarily make you wanna kill yourself as much as meme helicopters do

dont know. never played it.
the trailer made it look like shit. the devs acted like faggots when promoting the game. it took everything from the game that made Devil my Cry profitable and cut it out. to be "modern and hip" it is the exact reason why DC movies failed as well.

>DmC is absolute garbag-

Mundus was the best part of this shitshow. I love comically evil demons.
>You don't FUCK with a GOD

>DmC doesn't necessarily make you wanna kill yourself as much as meme helicopters do
>Muh infested chopper
I guess DmC is so pathetic if fails to even elicit any sort of reaction then.

>-e.

Well at least it gave us the el Donte videos.

It is basically reskinded heavenly blade.
Seriously - same buttons are for the same styles.

With color matching to boot.

Also - DmC sounds so much better in Spanish. I have no idea what they were saying but it was still great.

unironically a better game in spanish

No lock on
No taunts
Boring weapons
Terrible boss design. Feels like they took the saviour level from dmc4 and decided to do more gimmicky shit like that

Rebellion and arbiter are the only good weapons
DT is just a "win encounter" button rather than an enhanced state
Most enemies don't do anything interesting
Too much shitty braindead platforming
No styles
Dante's voice acting is shitty and he sounds like a fucking goober in fights
No fun or interesting bosses

That wet sloshing sound accompanied with all of Vorgil's swings was so aggravating

>DmC was meant to be a Mexican Action game
should have just been a new IP set in LA.
also
great choice of Zorro sound track.

I dislike the way you switch between weapons. Less moves per weapon than previous games. Enemy design is ass and practically none are enjoyable to fight.

The chainsaw enemies hate those

FUCK YOU

Its garbage, yes we know

Here's a red enemy, here's a white one.

>If it didn't have the name attached it would've been fine
wouldn't have had as much journos defending it that's for sure

Lack of moves and functional redundancy. Waste of button slots by having 2 dodges and one dedicated launcher. Arbiter Osiris and Rebellion play the same, they have stinger, launcher, ground combo A, ground combo B. This is by design because you need basic movesets to beat blue/red enemies.

All the problems with DMC5 translate to DmC. No inertia, no momentum transfer between moves. Everything just feel really sticky, almost if you're playing a batman or spiderman game rather than proper action game.

FORNICATE THOU

>Lower skill ceiling in all areas
>Color Coded enemies are a vacuum for sucking the fun out
>Padded length with dumb key system
>No taunts, none of the mechanics relating to taunts
>Some serious balance problems which recall DMC 2
>Art direction is almost never not an eyesore
>Stability issues
>Trying way too hard to be an idea of cool that was already passe for fifteen years when it came out
>It's since come out that the game was an absolute trainwreck until Itsuno's team took time off Dragon's Dogma to fix it, which explains why this is the only Ninja Theory game to not have dogshit combat

>Angel and Demon weapons/color coded enemies
>DT is a ZA WUDO instead of a bitching demon transformation
>Very few menuvers
>No higher level game play potential
>Shitty enemy types
The only good thing it did was the grappling hook and (arguably) have a more flexible dodge system (again arguably don't bite my head off). Not gameplay but the framerate of the cutscenes was godawful and choppy too

>The DLC after Itsuno and co. came in and fixed Ninja Theory's mess plays pretty good
Color me surprised now post someone going churazy in vanilla DmC

Donte
>color coded enemies
>two dodge buttons
>no block
>demon dodge
>terrible guns
>guns don't play into the angel/demon thing, despite Ebony and Ivory
>damage upgrades, meaning you have to buy most moves twice
>i win button devil trigger
>weapons don't have meaty enough moveset, despite having two buttons assigned
>demon weapons have absolutely no air capabilities
>forced and unchallenging plataforming

Vergin
>two dodge buttons
>no demon dodge despite angel dash
>no other weapons outside of Yamato
>have to shoot enemies to trick
>still more plataforming
>reused assets for environments
>normal Vergin isn't a selectable costume just wounded and troll doll

Oh man, I really liked the Bleach DLC
