No. D:OS2 had bad combat and writing along with an ugly artstyle.

I liked the combat being turn-based though, but for a game like Baldur's Gate it might get crazy boring during random encounters.

However the first npc duos will complain and leave until you at least reach Nashkel if you take too long, even if you don't do anything after.
