altmers

Dunmer fans

Literally every other race.

Attached: Divayth #1 Wizard.jpg (400x400, 34K)

more like dumbmer amirite

>altmer
head the most powerful faction (Dominion) and have the 2nd most powerful faction (empire) bent over a barrel to the point its read to collapse.

>Dunmer
Have fallen to objectively being the weakest province in Tamriel as of TES V, have been dabbed on to the point of complete irrelevance and will need a hundred years or more just to rebuild, if allowed to by the other regions.

Attached: 1550502145747.jpg (1080x1232, 184K)

Said the race of elves that got most of their homeland destroyed because they change their "faith" with the tides.

why do you always make this stupid fucking thread

>dabbed on by a rock
>dabbed on by lizards
>dabbed on by a volcano
>dabbed on by random deities and pseudo-deities constantly for as long as they've existed
LOOK AT THESE DOODS

> " We Dunmer are truly the most powerful race to have ever existed"
> Argonian home owner " That's nice Divayth Fyr but that chamber pot isn't going to clean itself and your break is over"

I would guess because dungmer fans are thin skinned and are incapable of not taking the bait.
It is pavlovian with them.

Attached: 1407213004059.png (527x594, 29K)

>Only 1 person on Yea Forums dislikes dunmer/morrowfags

you must be new around here, dunmer bait is a local sport

Is this accurate?

Attached: Elder Scrolls Races.png (1000x2414, 212K)

When has a dungmer ever successfully attained divinity?
I know the three stooges flamed out after awhile so who are they talking about?

Attached: objective scoring.jpg (4296x808, 684K)

objectively inaccurate, made by dungmerfag

Objectively accurate rankings as of TES V:-

RANK 1
>Altmer, Imperials - lead empires
RANK 2
>Nords, Argonians, Redguards - Strong regional powers with the ability to expand in the right circimstances
RANK 3
>Khajiit, Bosmer, Bretons - sidekicks, play smaller roles within factions dominated by others
RANK 4
>Orcs, Dunmer - irrelevant, Orcs don't have a recognised province of their own, the Dunmers region of morrowind is a complete mess and they're so weak they can't even police what they control

Attached: 1422020961700.png (800x3176, 1.25M)

>Imperials - lead empires
imperials fucked up the empire in under 200 years. Nords (Septims) were the only people capable of keeping shit under control

1 Nord
2 Argonian
3 Orc
4 Redguard
power gap
5 Breton
6 Cyrod
power gap
7 Dungmer
8 Altmer
9 Khajit
not so much a power gap but a "they exist so they have to go on the list"
10 Bosmer

For the Cyrods it is past tense so "led Empires"
The AD is an alliance at best not an Empire.

Whoever made this comic literally did mt play Morrowind, lol.

Talos was a Breton

But the Septim ethnic background has shifted from Nords into Imperial phenotype
Uriel and Martin Septim are Imperials, not Nords anymore

>Imperials
>lead Empires

Lead them into the ground. Imperials are the most boring and uninteresting race in TES. They can't even make their own Empires without help from the Nords.

Found the redditor

TALOS is three people, Talos Stormcrown was a Nord, Tiber Septim and Hjalti Early-Beard were Bretons.

one drop

>tfw you have to read up to Dunmer to realize this is a parody

I can't believe how retarded I am

Not how that works.
Tiber liked the small Breton puss so his children were Bretons not Nords.
Once Cyrodil became the HQ of the Empire they married Cyrods to consolidate power bases.
That is why those gentlemen are Imperials.

FUCK Snowniggers, FUCK Lizardniggers, FUCK Imperialniggers, FUCK catniggers, and most importantly, FUCK OP.

Attached: N.png (500x505, 97K)

One source claims this in game.
It is labelled a heresy in the title.
user the unreliable narrator is used everywhere in TES. Don't pin your hopes on one source.

Game data doesn't lie
In Oblivion, they're set as racially Imperials

>implying divayth wont conjure up more harem clone girls to clean for him

Orcs are a pretty shit race to be honest.
>Worship a literal shit god
>Can't stop fighting each other to do much of anything of note as a race
>Whenever they manage to stop fighting each other they get done in by everyone else because of how nigger they act
I like orcs from a purely aesthetic point of view but as a race they are probably the worst.

Yes the mothers were Cyrods.
Not disagreeing with you just telling you how it happened.

Best races are dunmer, imperials, orcs (women) and bretons because dude chivalry lmao

Arcturian Heresy and the events of Daggerfall sync up fairly well. Arcturian Heresy is also found in Vivec's Secret Library, where he keeps all the information about Red Mountain.

The lady of the house won't let him. Every time he tries h

>in skyrim you kill the only two non-nig Orcs (musician and chef)

>gets fucked by BOTH the empire AND the argonians
gee, some "master race"

One generation of Nords banging Cyrods would make them all Imperials. Children in TES always take the race of the mother.

Are you the user that argued Hjalti had to be Breton because Daggerfall claimed he was born there?
If so do you realize why you were wrong now?

There is the librarian.

Can't remember if it's in Arena or Daggerfall, but I'm pretty sure one of the Aedra refer to Tiber Septim as "manmer", that's clearly referring to a Breton.

Dunmer in Morrowind were cool and made sense. In the context of later games and lore retcons they start making less and less sense. All the other racial kingdoms have greater or at least equal technology and development. Daedra worship is everywhere anyways. Why try so hard to be different when the stakes were so low and it results in nothing but legalized murder as a cute local culture custom? Oblivion and up basically turned Veloth and the Dunmer into the Taliban.

Attached: 667_w1315-h800_cx0-cy0_cw1644-ch1000.jpg (1315x800, 115K)

yeah but he threatens to fuck you up

That was MK on reddit.
He is never referred to as manmer in game..

Isn't this genes-after-mother principle limited to Mer/Men or offspring?
Shouldn't the passing of Men genes be governed by Mendelian principles of inheritence?

tfw no qt dunmer gf

They were gods for longer than you'll be alive

Challenge accepted

Every in-game depiction of Septim does not scream "Nord" or "Imperial" to me. I also think it's entirely possible Septim is a Breton with a Nord name (Hjalti Early-Beard). If he was born in Alcaire to a Nord father and Breton mother it makes sense.

OH NO NO NO NO
DUNMERBROS, HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN TO US!!??
WE WERE SUPPOSED TO BE THE TOP RACE

Attached: 1558205639364.png (500x667, 483K)

So their divinity ended in 2002 with the events of Morrowind.
They weren't in Daggerfall or Arena. The first appearance was Redguard so their divinity started in 1998.
So around 4 years.

I have already won.

I have the opposite take. Every description of Tiber screams Nord. Conquers fucking everything just because he can being the first clue.

Do you recall tales of Tibers use of the wondrous Breton magic at Pale Pass?
I seem to recall it was a more visceral encounter with Tiber in the vanguard.

If Tiber doesn't seem Nord to you it is because you have been paying attention to the fanfics not the games.

>imagine having to gang up on a single state after it suffers several disasters

"Well well, look at the outlander pullin' up in his fancy imperial sailboat."

Attached: sneed beyond seed outlander.jpg (1024x574, 78K)

Not according to the games. In game the only person to achieve it is Tiber.

Playing a shit game like morrowind.

Dunmer are the best mages easily. Sure, Altmer start with a boost to magicka but Dunmer are more attuned to destruction magic which makes them deadlier. Neloth is far more powerful than any Altmer in the vicinity of Skyrim.

>Empire fucks off because they can't handle a bunch of daedra
>Scaliefags fuck off because they can't handle House Redoran

The Neloth in Morrowind has a very different skillset than the Neloth in Skyrim.
user I don't know how to break this to you but that isn't the real Neloth.

God I want to be someone's argonian wife so bad.

> Hist lickers get bored kicking the rubble around and go home
> Dungmer consider this a great military victory.

I know it has been around 4000 years since the dungmer won a fight but show some pride.

>Dungmer still trying to act all big and superior when they got destroyed by being victims of karma and Morrowind is covered in ash and shit now
Morrowcucks are a laughing stock.

High elves

Attached: 1563124469163.jpg (3500x1474, 428K)

This Neloth has 400 years more experience he's a master enchanter

The icing on the schadenfruede cake is they still try to maintain some possibility of being relevant going forward.

The next game will focus on a new race and province and the dungmer will get one step closer to Bosmer tier.

>Dungmer are so pathetic that they got excluded from the Aldmeri Dominion

Attached: 1521115143920.png (300x250, 58K)

Builds his tower far from any remaining telvani.
Has a very different skill set than the Morrowind version.
Is very bad at magic in game.

Occam's razor.

They and Argonians make the best stealth archers, so obviously

Attached: 1558647952566.jpg (2403x1886, 1.03M)

The Altmer hate the dungmer just as much as everyone else. Always have.

>wanting to be part of a political-motivated body of haughty yellow faggots that want to destabilize mundus and return to nothing

Attached: 1520310684702.jpg (576x768, 37K)

>dungmer will get one step closer to Bosmer tier

They're already beneath the Bosmer. They're literally the weakest, most irrelevant province in Tamriel as of Skyrim. The Redoran don't have the strength to do anything outside of their main territory, they cant even protect the south of morrowind from a few roaming Argonian warrior bands that didn't go home.

What are the chances of mainline Tes games featuring the various Khajiit breeds, like the talking cat variety?
youtube.com/watch?v=RaZLO3PKbk4

Not as playable characters of course, but as npcs.

Argonians are objectively the best race, and I respectfully decline to believe all of the users who say that they are not.

Also

Every race has regressed from ancient times not just Nords

You just posted one

I specifically said mainline as in to differentiate them from the eso.

I wish that they looked like that.
I hate the way their skulls and necks look in Elder Scrolls games. They look fucking retarded with those thin necks supporting the massive dinosaur heads.

>Not as playable characters of course

Fuck you I want to be a literal housecat wizard

Slim. Putting them in the game here and there as quest givers or something is a possibility, but if they do it too much it'll raise the question of "why can't I play as X".

Also, remember this is Bethesda. I'd be stunned if they used a new engine for the game based on how lazy they are, so asking them to do much of anything beyond barebones expectations is asking too much.

I would not put it past Bethesda to not even do a new setting. I think Elsweyr and Black Marsh are out of the question because the trailer didn't really look like either place and plus I think they'd like to avoid having to put in too much of the alien-like races because it'd just raise that exact question of "where is X breed at".

they were false gods u noob

>those animations

Attached: giphy.gif (400x307, 1.26M)

It is funny how ESO will probably be the only game to ever feature the more weird and alien shit of the setting in the future.
Zenimax kikes want Bethesda to play it super safe with the big releases.

>Two rival Aldmeri factions rub shit on themselves and *"changed their skin" after Boethia ate Trinimac and shit him out as Malacath

>therefore, Dunmer ancestry is LITERAL SHIT

*elderscrolls.fandom.com/wiki/The_Anticipations

>ESO got shit on initially for toning down fantasy elements and making everything tame and boring
>Will probably go down as one of the most diverse TES games just by virtue of all the weird obscure shit they added as filler over the years

Chimer didn't really look that different from Altmer they still had golden skin

I killed that fucker after he cured me and took his armor

I am extremely uncomfortable with this.

That and Bethesda are lazy faggots. I'm torn between if I even want to see Bethesda use a non-creation engine in the future. Their games are always borderline unplayable on launch, and this has been with an engine they are allegedly experienced with. I think if they use a new one it'd break them, or make their production time increase ten-fold and even then the Bethesda we know will still drop a buggy as fuck game.

We all weep with you this day user

in-game models have never matched the artistic vision with bethesda, including the lazy sods recycling meshes and making everything to fit as few animation skeletons as possible.

It's easy to imagine elves being supposed to have more slender features but it's not really portrayed in detail in the game meshes. TES VI should be a good step up, I hope.

Attached: 1559901051847.jpg (1792x768, 674K)

God I want to slurp the Hist sap right out of those gargantuan tits.

I mean isn't the whole "you look like your mother" thing derived from basically one book?

khajiit are best race in architecture, food, and personality

Someone monkey paw'd the fuck out of elder scrolls holy shit.

>Nords

Say what you will about the Dunmer, but the Nords are cucking themselves out of oblivion getting mad about a yellow race while a dark one destroys them from the inside. They're almost like America in a way. Or maybe a Europe equivalent what with migrants flooding into their major cities and then shitting on the locals.

So these housecat khajiit are members of the same race as the humanoid khajiit, right?
Can they like, interbreed with the normal khajiit?
Could there be a khajiit guy/gal whose mom/dad is a tiny housecat that talks, while the other parent is "normal" in khajiit terms???

Attached: what the fug.png (211x246, 11K)

Why?

in es lore the khajiit body type is determined by what stage of the moon they are born under. depending on the stage they can be housecat or lion sized, or humanoid

It's just a regular cat, man. They shouldn't talk. Are they treated as equal members of society? I don't understand.

sadly, it ends there

visually, skyrim was a big leap from Oblivion and that was on the same gen of console. Easy to forget that Oblivion & skyrim were both PS3 games

TES VI will be a next gen release, there will be no excuse for not having a big leap visual fidelity.

Attached: 1515517317621.jpg (1000x3507, 837K)

youtube.com/watch?v=bY1aJt91OqI

They are khajiit by all rights and full fledged members of Khajiit society. They are naturally gifted magic users and due to their close appearance to housecats, also work as when they aren't wearing clothing to make themselves stand out from housecats, they can't really be told apart.

So, a fully normal khajiit could have a mom that is a tiny kittycat?

I don't like it. What are the odds of these things being in VI?

Why my Redguards at?

same thing with Fallout General

Miniscule unless bethesda can somehow reuse ESO assets.

Reminder that ESO retconned the lore here, it used to be that the smallest Khajiit breeds could NOT speak the man/mer tongue, but were just as smart, could understand it were capable wizards.

I can understand why (casual MMO players don't give a fuck about this level of lore), but its just one of those things that has been changed by ESO. And like it or not, ESO is cannon.

Attached: S9zB5aA.jpg (3894x2000, 2.58M)

>fully normal khajiit
Try a 9 foot tall tiger man

What about the big ones

Given that the previous mentions of the Alfiq in TES has been purely in written form, I am more ok with this sort of retconning. It is more fun to have talking cats as characters than just mute cats whose intelligence and capacities are merely something that are stated to us.

Attached: f8fac00820de63fd5e7c31ba83e3ada8.jpg (800x1000, 153K)

Half of those forms look goofy as fuck. Dagis and Tojay's are all straight into the bin material, Ohmes-Raht looks like some unkempt druggie with way too much bodyhair, and from Pahmar to Senche Raht there is just variation of "big fucking cat".

Holy shit this is selling me on ESO

Yes, we all know oblivion has potato faces. That doesn't mean Skyrim was a major graphical ugrade, it's mostly just difference in art style. Daggerfall to Morrowind and Morrowind to Oblivion were much more significant.

So what version of Skyrim should I TRY to mod?
Legendary or Special?
Is there a way to make just yourself look thicc and make everyone else look normal?
Is TESO worth it?

Fuck off, retard.

Mer (specifically Old Ehlnofey, Aldmer and now Altmer) being super butthurt about the creation of Mundus while Men like the creation of Mundus has been the entire basis of the TES background story, the driving divide of basically everything that has ever happened (in the grand scheme of things).

It's fundamental to everything TES. When you understand it, things start to fall into place lore wise.

Might as well ask here but are there any mods for the special edition that aren't completely autistic in regards to character creation? Simple better face textures would be nice.

You left out the reason to why the elves are butthurt.
They believe that their ancestors were the gods that created Mundus on Lorkhan's suggestion, and in doing so lost their power and immortality. The Aldmer worship of the divines aka the Aedra, is basically ancestor worship to them, with the exception of Talos, whose origins are in the races of Men. That's why the Aldmeri Dominion want's to rid Tamriel of Talos worship, as it PISSES THEM OFF that a mere man could rise to join the ranks of their Divine ancestors in worship.

They're literally the only ones that aren't normal cats or furries, you fucking retard.

And? What makes them interesting? All you have said is just that they are different.

Besides, is this even official artwork anyways?

give them the opportunity to mod the game, they said

Attached: upset.jpg (1280x720, 43K)

Dunmer are based and redpilled for mer. Honorary men.

I knew they were butthurt about losing their divinity thanks to Lorkhan being a sneaky boi but I wasn't aware of any active plans to unmake Mundus. I may have just not being paying attention.

The altmer want the ban of Talos worship because Talos acts in a similar manner to the towers, he "reinforces the wheel".

The Altmer need to deactivate all the towers in order to undo the creation of mundus, so they also need to "undo" Talos, and that involves removing him from the minds of men.

>have all kinds of degenerate porn mods along side with mods that make life generally harder in skyrim, by making shit more expensive, adding weather effects, making so that you have to pay a tax if you spend too much time in a town, adding needs like sleep, thirst and hunger, adding more dangerous diseases (including STDs), making so that you can get pregnant as a female if you have unprotected sex, etc.
>Also have the live another life mod allowing me to start from a different scenario from that of the vanilla game.

>Make a qtpie Dunmer girl and start out in the docs of Windhelm, RPing that she's a refugee from Morrowind.
>Have only couple of family heirlooms (rings etc) a bit of food and few hundred septims in my pocket, I set out to the city of Windhelm to try to begin a new life.
>Realize that due to being cold as fuck, I can't actually go outside until I buy myself protective clothing, and even within the city walls my character is half freezing.
>Most of my money is spent on buying myself a room in the local inn for 3 days, and my initial provision dwindle rapidly, forcing me to steal and pilfer food.
>Figure out that I can make money by chopping firewood and selling it. It's slow, and doesn't pay much, but keeps me from total financial oblivion. Every day 100 copper septims (mod) is spent on the visitor tax, and it takes about 4 ingame hours for me to earn that money.
>Spend first few days by chopping wood, harvesting what little food I can find from boxes, sacks etc, and sleeping.
>on the 3rd day figure out that I can use various alchemy ingredients to make potions (that are shit, but pay better than firewood)
>After a day of brewing potions, I head back to the inn, wash myself (bathing mod), and head to sleep.
>Wake up to some nord brute baring into my room, and raping me on the spot.
>Spend the next 6 hours being repeatedly raped by every male in the inn, contracting 3 STDs and being traumatized to the point of madness.

dunmer go home

It's mostly in the books, but skyrim references it in the main storylines a couple times.

During the Mages Guild storyline, at the end when the Thalmor is using the eye of Magnus, he literally says he has "the power to undo the world in his hands".

In the the main storyline, While asking Esbern if the Thalmor brought the dragons back he says something along the lines of "no, because the Thalmor don't want the world to end... unless it's on their terms".

These things would go straight over 99% of players heads, but when you know the lore you'll pick up on these things and know exactly what they're referencing.

Are you kidding? Skyrim was a major upgrade from Oblivion. The game still didn't look pretty for it's time, but that's Bethesda for you.

You mean c0da? They've been generally following Kirks plans despite him not being there, but there's no guarantee that's where the main TES series will ever go so I wouldn't take it as being objective. A good idea of what *might* happen, rather than what actually *will* happen.

It is the most imaginative and fresh take on the Elder Scrolls setting since Morrowind.

I mod skyrim like that but without the degenerate mods.

Requiem + survival mods for a brutal experience + expanded towns is a good experience.

Only after Orsinium

Will the destruction of the towers actually go well for the Mer or will they be unmade along with the rest of reality?

I'm still on the search to this day user...

Attached: 17f306ab7ae45167ee97fa42cd1a5f06.png (546x683, 505K)

Some people theorize that the destruction of mundus could be a violent enough act to awaken the Godhead, and that's a good thing.

they'd be unmade but to them this is good as it means they might be reformed into gods or something

How feasible would a FUCK MAGIC Nord build be, if I want to speed into Bloodmoon?
I've never actually played the Bloodmoon expansion, which is why I ask. I remember Tribunal fucking my ass.

Alright lads, what are some of your favorite builds?
>’The White Lizard’: albino colored argonian. battleaxe and heavy armor. Inspired by Grombrindal of Warhammer
>’The Masked One’. Battle mage breton. Sword and spell. Wears a mask (modded in or found asap) and never takes it off

>big nord who smacks everything with a sword and sometimes shoots stuff if its too far away
theres literally no reason to do anything but this

It's hard, it's intended for high level (35+) characters. You at least want some enchanted items/potions to help you out.

Only thing you have to worry about in Bloodmoon are a certain type of enemy that doesn't appear until later on. If you're Nord you can basically laugh at everything on Solstheim.

This honestly doesn't sound like a great plan

Recently started playing as an Argonian who fucking despises Nords, Delves, and cats. Was enslaved at one point, now has a power trip where he is obsessed with ruling over the 3 and resorts to necromancy to do it. Just got high enough to have a thrall, been using M'aiq.

I do not like it and will continue to believe TESO is non canon.

>Can you?
Yes.
>Should you?
Probably not.

The waifu crap has always been there, but they used to be much better threads. Everything has been discussed to death now because there's been no new game for a decade.

you can read up on c0da to see what Kirkbride had planned - but there's no guarantee that Bethesda will do things exactly the same if they even take that route in the main series.

>"To kill Man is to reach Heaven, from where we came before the Doom Drum's iniquity. When we accomplish this, we can escape the mockery and long shame of the Material Prison. To achieve this goal, we must:"
>"Erase the Upstart Talos from the mythic. His presence fortifies the Wheel of the Convention, and binds our souls to this plane.
Remove Man not just from the world, but from the Pattern of Possibility, so that the very idea of them can be forgotten and thereby never again repeated."
>With Talos and the Sons of Talos removed, the Dragon will become ours to unbind. The world of mortals will be over. The Dragon will uncoil his hold on the stagnancy of linear time and move as Free Serpent again, moving through the Aether without measure or burden, spilling time along the innumerable roads we once traveled. And with that we will regain the mantle of the imperishable spirit."

Interesting,more stories?

The last time a group fucked with Towers was the Selectives, and that ended in a thousand year long Dragon Break. I don't think this time will end any better.

I doubt we'll reach the fifth era anytime soon in the first place.

Nope, as after I fapped I closed the game in shame. I did save though, so when I get back to it, I will have quite a mess to deal with.

I honestly don't know where to go from here. I am at level 1, and due both the taxes, the fact that public nudity is illegal which means that I also got boynty form the fact that I was raped, the STDs which are far harder to cure due to the mods I have, all combine to create a scenario where my qtpie Dunmer girl is quite thoroughly fucked.
Not to mention that the mental trauma ads massive debufs to my magica and stamina so I can't really even fight.

There is a brothel in the grey quarter though, to which some pimp already tried to hire my character as I wandered the streets collecting alchemy ingredients.

What's a fun Argonian build in Morrowind?

more more more more give me more more

Aren't Eras defined by the rise and fall of major empires? If the Aldmeri Dominion conquers all or most of Tamriel they may just declare the start of the fifth era.

Eras don't have any real hard definition to their start and end.

The shape shifting is part of the green pact brainlet

Then why did Patrick Stewart make such a big fucking deal about how his death marks the end of the third era?

the 4th Era is when the Thalmor go full throttle military end the world mode... and we're already in it. It'll be interesting to see were Bethesda take things in TES VI. My guess is that we won't be at the end of mundus stage, but the empire will have fallen and The Dominion will be trying to gain domination across Tamriel.

p.s for anyone wanting an insight into random lore stuff, here's a good collection of Kirkbrides thoughts/explanations

Literally the entire point of the 36 Lessons is Vivec trying to get the Nerevarine to attain CHIM.

Tiber Septim and Talos are seperate entities.

Entirely up to you.

He's right, retard.

nope we fucked off to Akavir never to be heard from again, so I assumed we got killed by something there

No, he's right. Major dynasties and empires fall and during the first era and the era is the same, same with the merethic era.

> The point of the sermons was to get the Nerevarine to achieve CHIM.

That is new.
also has nothing to do with Vivec achieving it.

Is Agnorith a Nord, or Breton name? What is Kintyra?

Also why are Reachmen lumped in with Bretons when Reachmen are as Breton as Argentinians are white?

No he's correct. You're thinking of The Wild Hunt.

The green pact banned the Bosmer from altering their physical forms, aka becoming beasts under all normal circumstances. They can only do it under extreme circumstances, for example if Valenwood was under major threat, and need to perform a ritual to "ask" Y'ffre to allow it. In order to use it for gain (like going on a rampage over tamriel like he suggested) rather than an in extreme defensive time of need, would absolutely end the green pact with Y'ffre. Probably shouldn't call someone a brainlet when you haven't done your own research.

Attached: 1502453620870.jpg (678x574, 108K)

Dunmer now see Nirn as a sort of proving grounds for their own attempts at divinity, interestingly enough. Also worth noting is that they are raised to trust no one.

>Tiber Septim and Talos are seperate entities.

Attached: Denton.jpg (600x733, 29K)

Different user.
I thought the wild hunt was in time of need the Bosmer broke the green pact in order to start the wild hunt.

Bosmer lore is completely retarded and contradicts itself all the time

I am guessing this is from ESO.

Nope.

>That is new.
The 36 lessons are meant as a coded message to the Nerevarine, there's a bunch of references in there to the Nerevarine and Nerevar being a Ruling King and needing Vivec to guide him on his path.
>also has nothing to do with Vivec achieving it.
Vivec wouldn't have lived past the events of Morrowind if he didn't have CHIM, due to the HoL being destroyed.

Talos is an enantimorph of Tiber Septim, Zurin Arctus, and Ysmir Wulfharth.

i was also a stealth archer on my first play trough

Well do share then. I am no lore warden by any stretch but I don't recall anything like this.

IIRC it's more like a suspension allowed by Y'ffre after they perform the ritual. Once the existence threat is dealt with, its back to business with strictly no shape-shifting.

The point is that Y'ffre didn't grant the Bosmer the ability to shapeshift into beasts at this user seems to think, he actually massively restricted its use by them.

If C0DA is canon and the dwemer are in fact the skin of the numidium why does Todd Howard keep saying that nobody knows what happened to them?
The latest was around the time of 76s release.

it's not canon

Would this be the highest IQ setting for TESVI, provided we're limited to Tamriel?

Attached: Summerset_isle_map.jpg (300x333, 27K)

Todd never says that, everyone knows what happened to them.

He says it all the time. Basically every interview he is asked about it.

>when your god hates you so much she curses you to be ugly

Yes the invasion of the Isles would be top tier.

Source? I can't find any interview with Todd about the Dwemer.

It is.

Why didn't the dunmer turn back to chimer after the tribunal died. Wtf Azura

not a loaded question, do you guys think that Todd still thinks about the lore and setting of TES? or even Fallout? I can't imagine him as interested in anything other than the business side of things

it's not

Could you be more specific?
The dungmer worship a new god every week or so.

I can't find a single thing on it. Quit your bullshitting.

It appears in-game, the entire 37th Sermon is Vivec describing the events of C0DA from his perspective.

Attached: 1559121834528.jpg (801x720, 97K)

that still only a one sided conformation
not to mention how shaky all the info are in morrowind

And also mentions things from c0da like Sotha Sil's daughter

>that still only a one sided conformation

I am sure he cares. Do I think he has instant recall of every scrap of minutiae no.

yes negro

I'm thinking its going to be either the Summerset Isle or High Rock. Either one I'd be mostly fine with, I still wish they'd do Hammerfell or Elsweyr just because it'd be polar opposite of Skyrim in setting. I doubt we'll ever see Elsweyr though, too many breeds of Khajiit and I think most casual players would think 90% cat people would be too weird. Black Marsh would have the same problem, and the large aquatic areas would be boring since you can't do much with it.

Dude I need some sources on the mods. My orc characters needs to rape some women and further the orc race.

>that still only a one sided conformation
What? It's an in-game text written by Kirkbride with the approval of Zenimax.

>not to mention how shaky all the info are in morrowind
It's in ESO.

Attached: 1542361188575.png (675x608, 575K)

If I were to provide the clip from the 76 presser in which he says that nobody knows what would your response be?

Sounds legit to me.

Don't forget Truth in Sequence mentioning things like the Wheels of Lull and Numidium being a monster that will return and destroy the world.

Isn't most of Black Marsh also uninhabitable by non-Argonians?

you faggots and your reddit tier me

>Wheels of Lull
I thought that was shit trainwiz made up

Not that user, the only thing I could find was his PAX East interview which he doesn't mention the Dwemer

Trainwiz got made canon with the Clockwork City epxansion and when he got hired by bethesda

do you have an actual source for that?

see

My question was If I provide the clip of Todd Howard and Pete Hines taking rapid fire questions at the end of the 76 questions and he , once again, states nobody knows what happened to the dwemer what would your response be?

You'd have to post it so I can see it first,

Well the 37th Sermon uses a paragraph to spell out the C0DA website with the first letter of each sentence.
So technically C0DA is in game but it isn't quite the validation C0DAfags believe.

That isn't how this is played.
To be fair I don't have it but it did happen. There was a thread about it on Yea Forums in which everyone laughed at the C0DAfags.

He doesn't particularly know it.

Dunmer live at the extremes, they're either literal geniuses who are forging new paths in wizardry or they're completely backwards ashlander tribals.

It's not just the URL though, have you even read the 37th Sermon? It references Landfall and the destruction of Nirn happening in the future after the events Morrowind
>long past the chronicles of the Hortator who wore inconstant faces and ruled however they would, until apocalypse.
Sotha Sil's daughter, memory.
>And Seht held his swollen belly to its name, clockmaker's daughter, swimming the dead confession along a century of thread, Naming her, uneaten, a golden cache of Veloth and Velothi, for where else would they know to go?
The Dunmer moving to Masser after the Numidium destroys time
>And Vivec became as glass, a lamp, for the dragon's mane had broke, and the red moon bade him come.
Dialogue with Jubal, with Jubal cutting off his hands to beat the Numidium.
>"For I have removed my left hand and my right, he will say," she said, "for that is how I shall win against them. Love alone and you shall know only mistakes of salt."
and the final sentence is
>The worlding of the words is AMARANTH.

Attached: 1547632611664.png (957x1518, 697K)

>AMARANTH
based and paypigpilled

You expect the people who bitch about it to know anything about the lore.

Attached: chimmalexia.jpg (528x528, 283K)

>That isn't how this is played.
I'd have to see the context surrounding the question user, or if its even real considering I can't find anything about it on YouTube and there's no Todd Howard and Pete Hines Q&A

Yes MK writes in vague poetry so if he has to change something the MKult can blame the other persons poor understanding.

They usually let him write things where he slips in sekret messages only those in the know understand. They give it a once over and scrub the degeneracy . If they do that I will be fine.
If they bring back MK in any position of authority well Skyrim is as good a place as any to end the Elder Scrolls.

>vague
It's not vague, you're just a dipshit. Because for one thing, MK didn't write Sermon 37.

You could find no Todd Howard and Pete Hines interviews from 76?
Your googlefu is weak.

on the contrary, that is EXACTLY how this is played. you claim Todd Howard said something on camera multiple times, and it is upon you to present the evidence of your claim, or else nobody has any reason to listen to you lol
different user btw

Trainwiz claimed he did. Granted he is as unreliable a narrator as you get regarding MK but it is what it is.

My mod setup does not work on male characters.

go fuck yourself

c-can you say what mods you use?

No he didn't.

Not one of them answering questions together, no. If you have one and weren't just making shit up feel free to post it though

Really it's sad how much the Dunmer got shit on in canon.

pastebin.com/CQQfCTN1

>MK writes in vague poetry
What part of that is vague? It's pretty fucking explicit dude. Literally the final sentence is "The worlding of the words is AMARANTH."

Attached: 1550126964344.jpg (1220x1000, 285K)

If the Argonians, Dunmer, and Redguard could set aside their differences, they'd rule Tamriel.

Put your trip on wiz.

WTF does "The wording of the words is AMARANTH "mean.
Not exactly a clear concise sentence.

So thanks for making my point for me.

user, you can literally search the archives, which I just did.
What's with this thread full of retards claiming someone said something and then it turns out they didn't? First the guy dragging his feet providing anything about Todd talking about the dwemer, and now some fag going on about how trainwiz said sermon 37 was written by MK, and again, can't find anything.

Whatever.
I asked him in a thread and he said that MK wrote it.

how the fuck do the faces get worse as the games progress

Where does the concept of Amaranth appear anywhere in TES lore aside from C0DA? It's the most blatant reference to C0DA in the entire text, aside from the URL.

Attached: 1564064787376.jpg (1564x1564, 559K)

>caring about fictional races

Attached: handsome bean.jpg (805x768, 47K)

The point of contention was MK is deliberately vague in his writings.
user provided "The wording of the word is AMARANTH"as an example of how MK is clear in his writings.
Nobody has yet to say WTF it means.

It is just MK mumbo jumbo that means nothing.

Just because you don't understand what it means doesn't make it meaningless. Are you seriously arguing that because you're retarded, that makes your right?

>The point of contention was MK is deliberately vague in his writings
No, Kirkbride's responsible for a lot of the basic lore and world-building in TES. He was responsible for writing the entire Pocket Guide to the Empire in 1998 with Redguard. The only reason why the 36 Lessons are complicated (not vague) is because it deals with complicated Metaphysics of the TES universe, while also acting as an autobiography of Vivec in the style of Hindu epics.
>user provided "The wording of the word is AMARANTH"as an example of how MK is clear in his writings
I gave it as an example of an obvious reference to C0DA in the 37th Sermon.
>Nobody has yet to say WTF it means
It's referencing the concept of Amaranth, which is what Jubal and Vivec combine to achieve at the end of C0DA where they usurp Anu's place as the Godhead and create a new dream built off of love.

Attached: 1545849726488.png (400x400, 168K)

What a shock.
The you aren't big brained enough to understand.
The thing is nobody has explained WTF "The wording of the word is AMARANTH"means because they can't.

Nothing's stopping you from going out and learning yourself. You've come into a TES lore thread and now you're throwing a tantrum because you're indignant that nobody wants to educate your stupid ass.

desu it probably doesnt even have much meaning until they need it to have a lot more meaning for some elder scrolls sequel or spinoff

I know it references MKs new dream within the dream.
It is still just mumbo jumbo that means whatever the hell it needs to.

You can ask a C0DAfag a question in prose and they will always answer in poetry so they can claim you were too stupid to understand it if they need to change it.

They may not give straight answers because they don't even know what the hell shit means.

The fuck? Most people know about amaranth, it's like asking what CHIM is at this point.

is this the part where we all pretend we know what MK is talking about without actually talking about what MK is talking about?

I know I know big brained folk get it.
It's ok to admit you have no idea what it means either.

not everyone here is a metaphysical lorefag

Yes everyone knows CHIM is Vivecs lore armor.

>in a TES lore thread and complains because he doesn't know basic shit

Welcome to C0DA

>I know it references MKs new dream within the dream
Amaranth has nothing to do with dream within a dream, Amaranth is about usurping Anu's place as the dreamer to create an entirely new dream.
>It is still just mumbo jumbo that means whatever the hell it needs to.
How? Amaranth has a pretty rigid definition, you can't change what Amaranth means except usurping the Godhead in place of yourself.
>They may not give straight answers because they don't even know what the hell shit means
I feel like I've given you a pretty straight answer as to what Amaranth is.

Then why are you complaining about the Sermon using metaphysical concepts if you don't understand them?

Attached: 1563810987180.png (1400x1000, 923K)

I've never understood why Daedra worship is frowned upon. At least they answer unlike the muh divines.

It used to be a dreamer starts a new dream and becomes a new Godhead of that dream.
I don't have the fucks to give to keep up with the changes.

Because 9 times out of 10 the Daedra fuck everyone up.

>tfw no qt khajit gf

>They may not give straight answers because they don't even know what the hell shit means
That's literally what I just said.
>usurping Anu's place as the dreamer to create an entirely new dream.

first quote should be
>It used to be a dreamer starts a new dream and becomes a new Godhead of that dream.

not the same guy and i understand the lore just fine just saying a lot of others prob dont

i know it just saying others probably dont since this didnt start as a metaphysical lore thread it just became that

The only real time the Daedra fucked everyone was Molag Bal, and he's a dick that no one likes anyways.

>Molag Bal
I meant Mehrunes Degon, get those two confused.

molag bal tried to fuck everyone in eso and then three other daedra tried to fuck summerset, nocturnal mephala and clavicus vile

So it is still a dream within a dream?
Or does the new dream wake the other fella up?

molag bal is also responsible for vampires that always try to fuck everyone

Daedra fuck people over all the time, just not on a large scale.

because most of them are assholes who just try to fuck up people or the world
>Peryite
>Mephala
>Vaermina
>Molag Bal
>Mehrunes Dagon
>Namira
all cunts who would fuck the world up just like Dagon given the chance
Boethiah too now that I think of it and it's extremely hilarious shes one of the Dunmer Trinity
Hermaeus Mora and Clavicus Vile only fuck up those dumb enough to try to make deals with them
Malacath, Meridia, Azura, and Sanguine are the only genuinely okay ones
Hircine and Nocturnal are mor complicated

Trainwiz doesn't understand others don't follow MK quite like he does.

Trainwiz isn't even in this thread. You don't have to follow MK to know basic shit like CHIM or Amaranth. Quit trying to justify you being a dumbass.

Whatever Train

chim is basic to know of but still a little complicated to understand, and amaranth is the same especially if you havent really touched c0da

Amaranth is really basic though. I mean in some way it's a bit easier to understand than chim

Anyone got that image where Tiber septim is shitting on Wulfy and Zurin?

Imagine unironically being a dungmer. Reduced to poor immigrants whose women get NORDED while their cuck men work in the freezing cold or Skeever infested, mouldywood corner clubs. Lot of good that Nerevar did for you Greyskins.

>So it is still a dream within a dream?
The new dream would be entirely separate from the old Godhead's dream. In the case of Jubal and Vivec at the end of C0DA the new dream they create would be one created out of Love, and its possible that people from the current dream would be able to travel to the new one (although it's not entirely certain).
>Or does the new dream wake the other fella up?
The old dream presumably ceases to exist with the creation of a new dream

maybe for major lorefags like us but im willing to bet that a lot of people in this thread only played skyrim and maybe oblivion or morrowind

Seen some anons ask about it along the thread so here goes for those new to the series: if you're starting your modlist from the ground up then get and mod special edition. Yes it had it's problems and was very limited when it came out but that time is long since gone and all important mods have been ported over or can easily be ported over manually. Not only that but new mods are mostly being made for SE and porting them back to LE is hard so most people won't do it. This includes sex mods, even if the variety for LE is still larger given how long it was around for as the only version.
I can always recommend some personal favorites for anyone looking to build a modlist so just ask.

Where the heck is he anyway

since the daedra don't really get along and have their own goals, is there any lore saying what they thought of mehrunes dagon trying to take over tamriel in oblivion?
i imagine some of them would have a problem with that.

RIP my sides

Daedric princes don't really give a shit, only one time they actually did something to another prince all together was cursong Jyggalag because he was too perfect in all fields.

special edition gets more worth playing every day. a lot of mods are already converted over and new ones are still being worked on for it. but if you're just in it for the waifus, legendary edition is the way to go.

So I'm playing Morrowind with MGE/MCP/PoP. Why the fuck can't I delete saves?

Would you guys be up for an Elder Scrolls game set a millennium after ESV
Think modern settings, but with magic and prophecies still being involved.
Several gods being forgotten and only worshiped by fringe groups, with terrorist attacks from underground deadric worshipers

>No guys you totally have to believe this game is canon because Zenimax said so despite it being developed by a different company that said the main games were 'transcription errors' and only they were canon
Nah fuck them, they shit up the lore horribly and I'd rather take the main series as canon over ESO.

Attached: 1399919599872.jpg (1268x713, 172K)

Chimer didn't rub shit on themselves.

ESO does the lore better than the main game ever did. Just compare Sotha Sil in both.

Redguards should have been a slave race.

What are some good mods to make Skyrim difficult and a punishing rpg?

Also, I loved how Morrowind had the meta lore of explaining how the PC could respawn and save, through Chim. Do the other TES games have that kind of meta lore explanations for game mechanics or is that just Morrowind?

>that said the main games were 'transcription errors'
They never said this you knee-jerking retard. They offered the transcription error as one of the many explanations as to why Cyrodiil is no longer a Jungle as it was described in the PGE.

Attached: 1556312967077.png (500x283, 162K)

How do you type so well while sucking cock?
No, their 'lore masters' leading up to the game's release said the main games and their lore were just 'transcription errors' and theirs was the true story, you disgusting subhuman.

exactly, best food

Redguard aren't niggers you moron, they're Moors

>Morrowind had the meta lore of explaining how the PC could respawn and save, through Chim
This is a meme spread around by some guy's blogpost from 2010. The Nerevarine doesn't have CHIM at the start of the game, but it's possible he can achieve it through the 36 lessons.

>said the main games and their lore were just 'transcription errors'
No they didn't.

>#ESO's Cyrodiil is based on current Tamriel lore. The original "endless jungle" description is considered a transcription error.

>just discovered that I can permanently pacify any humanoid NPC with calm + intimidate and make even dark brotherhood assassins (Fight 100 meaning they're supposed to be always hostile) my friends
The other games are so boring to me because all you can do is dungeon crawl in them. The most exciting thing you could do in Skyrim was freaking smithing loops.

And even then the transcription error in-game is established to be written by a retard author, and the actual scholars agree Cyrodiil was a jungle once. You even get to go there at some point.

Based.

>How do you type so well while sucking cock?
You tell me. Tell me what was so great about the original clockwork city and Sotha Sil's dialogue in Morrowind. Oh wait, he was fucking dead.

To be fair, that was after a lot of community backlash. Initially the lore in ESO was pretty dire.

got something for you guys

To clear things up, Altmer think that Men are just beasts, when the truth is that both men and elves were of the race of Ehlnofey, and they only became different thanks to a political division about whether Mundus was a good thing or not. They split into the Wandering Ehlnofey that explored other continents and eventually evolved into Men, and the settled Ehlnofey who spread through Tamriel and became the Mer. To expand on this, the Altmer are actually right about their ancestors being Et'Ada ('gods') who were tricked by Lorkhan, but they're wrong about several things. For one, Men are obviously also degenerated Et'ada, like I said. For two, Lorkhan didn't do this to fuck people over, his plot with Mundus was to create an Arena of hardship on these degenerated Et'Ada that would push them towards the Walking Ways and eventually Amaranth (becoming your own godhead.) For three, their plot to undo Mundus won't make them into Et'Ada again. In fact, their souls are now so weak they cannot exist without the support of Mundus, and its unmaking will lead to all mortal life dissipating into nothing.

Yeah, but the later stuff surpasses mainline TES lore, because for one thing it's actually willing to show the weird stuff that's talked about.

Thanks I hate it

What the fuck?

>TESO 'reality'
>The Altmer built cities out of brick like everything else. They just look like normal European castles and houses like everywhere else outside of Morrowind.
Yeah fuck off.
This is disingenuous. Just because we don't SEE something doesn't mean it didn't exist in lore, you're claiming the simple presence of what was already established makes the lore itself better, not its depiction.

They had a couple good writers come up with shit while having absolutely no ambition in their actual developers.

Why isn't Lorkhans ghost doing anything? His physical body may be dead but Skyrim confirmed spirotually Lorkhan aka Shor is in Sovengarde. Humanity is taking a big beating from the Fagmeri Dominion and if the Empire falls there's no hope for proper organization.

>The Altmer cities are made out of glass and insect wings with some buildings shaped like giant flowers and plants. They literally forged knowledge into Crystal-like-Law.

They never did you stupid lorebaby.
>A forbidden city for nearly fifty years, Alinor is both capital of the Summerset Isles and the heart of the Aldmeri Dominion. Human traders were only allowed at its ports, and they described the city as "made from glass or insect wings." Less fantastic accounts come from the Imperial emissaries of the Reman Dynasty, which describe the city as straight and glimmering.

The very thing you think you're quoting straight up tells you that that description isn't true in the very next sentence. You're complaining about lore, but you don't actually know it.

The wasted potential is what bothers me. I feel like every TES game takes one step forward but another step back, it's like they physically cannot make a completely improved sequel.

But if you want to talk about games ruining lore, let's talk about TES V. Where's the vampires that sleep beneath ice lakes and can phase through them, or the super wild northern nords being almost ice-elementals hmmm?

>Man I sure as shit fucking HATE non-standard fantasy lore, especially the bit of lore that tells me I can take whatever I like as canon or even ignore it entirely, including that bit of lore itself. How DARE other people like it and want to take it as canon.

Yes user, European stonework glimmers. You don't seem to get that the Reman account doesn't contradict the first one. Considering he accounts we have of Reman's court (shapeshifting orgies fueled by memory and reality-altering moth dust) it's no wonder they describe it blandly. But either way, it describes a place likely fully made out of artistic glass or the like, not fucking stone.
>Dude find me a quote right now about this game with a ton of articles

Culturally, but looks wise they're definitely black. Moors were North African Semites, mostly Berbers and Arabs, who kept a ton of (castrated) black slaves from Mali to do functionary work. That's what a 'black moor' was, Europeans basically adopted 'moor' to mean Muslims for a while and mixed them all together.

>You don't seem to get that the Reman account doesn't contradict the first one.
It literally says in the same shit you're quoting that your stupid poetry glass buildings were never a thing.
You want to go on about mainline TES? Where's the fucking jungle Todd? Why is the Clockwork City seven small rooms? Where are the other khajiit forms? Why did you sink Winterhold (it was because you were too lazy to make another city is why).

Attached: 600px-SI-npc-Sheogorath_Cane.jpg (600x600, 109K)

What's the point of an Arena if you interfere in the matches? The losers lose. Beyond that, our lore shows that the Altmer do and don't win. The majority of the races manage to escape to the Moons thanks to the Khajiit moon colony and the replacement tower they set up there, while the Altmer get attacked by Numidium and genocided while Nirn is mostly unmade, leaving just the earthbones and raw magicka. This leads to the more or less 'space age' where people just colonize the moons and other planets in Mundus.

The worst crime Skyrim committed was making Nords afraid to use the Voice, making it lame, and also make them retarded anti-mage tards. Old lore had just about every Nord using the Voice to some degree, had it doing all kinds of fun shit, and also had the Nords praising and utilizing magic in just about everything, especially vocal/song based magics.

shut the fu

>Dude find me a quote right now about this game with a ton of articles
Literally everything Zenimax has said has backed up the idea of ESO being a part of the same Universe as the regular games.

>Yes, it absolutely is. We have one full-time loremaster that does nothing but work with Bethesda Game Studios to make sure that there's a consistent timeline, characters are consistent, naming is consistent. The timeline is [a] super important force to any lore. This is why we picked the time that we did for Elder Scrolls Online all those years ago when we started the project, was we wanted to pick a time where there wasn't a whole lot known about it, so we could at least tell our own stories with our own characters, and we do that.

Everything they say seems to imply that the mainline games are incredibly important and they're not just some transcription error.

What's your point?

Attached: 1550707655920.jpg (500x700, 339K)

>It literally says in the same shit you're quoting that your stupid poetry glass buildings were never a thing.
No it doesn't? It says the Reman accounts were less fanciful and summarizes them in three words. Are you actually illiterate?
>Whining about show not tell yet again
Nigger, you were talking about the fucking LORE, not what was shown. The lore retcon about the jungles is in both mainline and TESO now, travesty that it was, and the Clockwork City was never changed, you just couldn't get into the main bits, they skipped over the majority. Aka, the lore about it didn't change. Depictions are not lore. I'm not bitching about the Altmer cities because they look ugly, but because they changed the lore so they'd be ugly. It's akin to the jungle retcon, only it's a TESO only one so far.

Don't forget that Zenimax and Bethesda share employees since they share the same building

fallout 76

Kirkbride originally submitted a quite different take on the gods compared to Imperials when they were making Skyrim, but they decided to keep it the same as in Oblivion so as not to 'confuse' players.

>and the Clockwork City was never changed, you just couldn't get into the main bits

You mean the thing they mentioned in an out-of-game text and a mod?

You are still making that mistake of thinking your statements erase the one I'm quoting. Of fucking course Zenimax forces them to associate, that doesn't change that Zenimax Online has declared themselves the primary makers of lore overriding the mainline series by Bethesda. Now, do you want to argue with me, or do you want me to spend the hour+ needed to dig up the quotes? It's not as easy as you seem to think, fanboy cocksucker.

>People actually defend TESO's Summerset
Nobody defended it when it came out, this is just some 'all good all bad' thinking, goddamn. You can like other parts of the game while hating what they did here, you know.

Attached: chihuahua_growl.jpg (320x256, 17K)

If its not in one of the mainline numbered games its not canon

Aren't the Fagmeri doing something similar to the Aylieds? Which caused a cybernetic elf slaying avatar of Lorkhan to come back from the future to destroy their entire civilization. Why isn't that happening with the Fagmeri Dominion?

Or you can actually play Tribunal and see all the doors you can't go through.

As someone who has never played ESO,what's wrong? Also how canon is ESO? A little? Somehow completely? Not at all?

>your statements erase the one I'm quoting
You're not quoting anything you fucking retard. You're asserting something without providing any evidence.
>do you want me to spend the hour+ needed to dig up the quotes?
Yes. Go dig up the quotes.

Attached: 1533722863244.png (493x402, 7K)

When things are already more or less going to be 'handled' there's not much cause for interference. As I said, Men survive, Altmer get genocided. Why interfere? It's not like these entities want Men to be safe and comfortable, hardship is the only thing that pushes you towards the Walking Ways.

I'm just mad at the retards who always bitch about insect wing buildings because they heard it on Yea Forums without actually reading the full quote. ESO's summerset architecture isn't the problem anyway, the problem is that there's not enough magic and they threw out the original design plans that they were going to do that were much more interesting.
>power lines and connectors that used varla stones to transfer magic long distances
>mass daedra enslavement with atronachs working in huge orchards and pulling boats down canals
>an entire region that's just a planetarium
>maormer invasion with ships that could swim through land

That's completely wrong. Battlespire isn't a mainline game but it's still canon and is referenced multiple times.

How about don't? If someone's main complaint is about how bad they did the place, then you don't reply by defending it. You reply by trying to talk about the cool things they did instead.
It's basically the equivalent of what Oblivion was for Cyrodiil.

Well Lorkhan worked pretty hard to make sure Nirn was created and to have it turned into floating space debris with Magicka storms is pretty anticlimactic.

I absolutely did. You skip most of the city, and you use that to claim it's totally a retcon for it to be more than six rooms.

>Old lore had just about every Nord using the Voice to some degree
That sounds "epic" on paper but in-game it would make shouting boring and demystify it. There would be nothing special about your player character learning shouts.

>Nords praising and utilizing magic in just about everything
They even say that Nords had respect for the "clever art" in the past.
Again on paper it sounds "epic" but in-game you have already non-magic races starting with spells, low level bandits casting fireballs and super cheap spellbooks lying around everywhere.
Magic should be special, powerful and expensive.

No, he worked to create Mundus. Nirn is just the main planet, and might be named after someone who exists in 'reality' beyond the godhead's dream. Mundus still exists, in the two halves of his dead body that are the moons, and the dead/dormant bodies of the other Aedra that make up the planets.

>you skip
Nope, never stated except in Sotha Sil's Last Words, which up until ESO and Trainwiz's mods, was never canon (and in fact we were never even sure if it was written by the devs).

Are there any GOOD retcons in you guys opinion?

>This door totally leads nowhere btw, this city is just this room
I bet you think all the cities in game are 1:1 to the setting too. Do you know what else isn't stated by the devs? That the 'real cities' are bigger.

Most everything in the Clockwork City.
Jyggalag.

>That sounds "epic" on paper but in-game it would make shouting boring and demystify it.
That's like saying letting people use magic and swords makes them boring, despite the interesting bit being the high end feats only masters can use. Swordplay is cool, the Redguards blowing up an entire continent doesn't stop being cool just because a bandit can grab a sword and slash at you. Magic is cool, everyone being able to go down to the store and learn how to heal their cuts doesn't stop the Psijic Order and other bits throughout the lore from being cool.

> The population in Cyrodiil, the assumed main setting for Oblivion, is said to be thousands upon thousands. With such a small NPC bank, how do you plan on emulating this massive crowd?
>With the number of NPCs we have (around 1000), it's dense. It's an insane number for us to pull off, so I can't say were at-all concerned with the number of characters in the game. If anything, it's too many, but we always do that. All of our lore is obviously written as ideal, to say X province or city has so many people, but you can't always actually pull that off on screen, or even store it, so you try to create a scale that feels good in game, that plays well and is fun. So the scale of the terrain and the number of NPCs is always geared to the gameplay more than the lore saying how big or small something is.

Have you considered that TES might not be for you if you want all the fantasy elements to be obscure and hidden? This is a world where people and the world basically shit magic. The Bretons literally play with magic like toys as a child like it's nothing. This isn't the kind of setting you want and never was.

Wow, good job, you ignored the main argument.

Most of the ones going into Redguard/Morrowind, even if the game is dumbed down.

I'm not the other user you were arguing with

get new obscure waifus. Plus if you knew about the obscure waifu mods to begin with you prob had LE installed and modded already, and I said to get SE if you didn't.

>if you want all the fantasy elements to be obscure and hidden
No, I want them to be respected.

You don't only have two options here: everybody shitting magic and magic being obscure. There's way more nuance. You can have overt and abundant magic in a setting but can it still be treated as a special element.
Healers should be respected by their community, battlemages and spellswords should be considered elite units. spellbooks are expensive and so on.
It's the same principle with weapons and gear, Ebony and Daedric should be rare, enchanted weapons expensive and so on.

Attached: TES-Mage.jpg (654x900, 165K)

You do know that everyone being able to heal cuts with magic, or everyone knowing how to sharpen their sword with the Voice, doesn't undo that possibility? A dedicated healer, and a Tongue, would obviously be much more skilled in their craft and capable of much more interesting feats, and they would be respected for that. A man who builds a shed doesn't get the respect of a man who designs a nuclear power plant, after all.
